    * - * I feel…read morecompelled to leave this review to warn other dog owners about the extremely distressing and unacceptable experience my dog and I had at this groomers. I received a phone call informing me that my dog was ready to be collected. At no point during this call was I told that my dog had been injured. When I arrived to collect him, I immediately noticed a large, deep gash on his leg. The staff member present was on the phone, and we were left waiting before we could even ask what had happened to our dog. When we were finally able to speak with her, she initially asked whether my dog had been to another groomer since his last visit, claiming that he had been behaving badly and attempting to bite staff. We explained that he had not. She then noticed that I am visibly pregnant and proceeded to suggest that my dog's behaviour was likely due to him not wanting to be separated from me while I am pregnant. This was an inappropriate and frankly insulting attempt to deflect responsibility instead of addressing the serious injury that had occurred while he was in their care. Only after questioning did they admit that they had caught his leg with the clippers. They then informed us that they had cleaned the wound and continued grooming him for a further half an hour after the injury occurred. It is completely unacceptable that grooming continued after such an incident, rather than stopping immediately and contacting the owner. Even more concerning is the fact that when they called to say my dog was ready for collection, they failed to mention that he had been injured at all. I was told that if it had been "that bad" they would have informed me sooner. This statement alone demonstrates an alarming lack of judgement and responsibility. When I asked whether he should be taken to a vet, I was advised that this was not necessary and was told to simply return on Tuesday so they could clean the wound again. Thankfully, we trusted our instincts and immediately rushed our dog to the vet. When he stood up, the wound appeared as a hole in his leg. The vet was absolutely shocked by the severity of the injury. My dog had to be sedated and required 13 staples in his leg, along with pain medication. This has been an incredibly traumatic ordeal for both my dog and myself. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and this situation caused significant distress. It has taken over two and a half weeks for the staples to be removed, and he is still wearing a cone while the scabs continue to heal. There are several serious questions that remain unanswered: - Why was I not contacted immediately when my dog began behaving in a way that made grooming unsafe? - Why did staff continue grooming for another half hour after causing the injury? - Why was I not informed about the injury during the phone call telling me to collect him? - Why was veterinary treatment actively discouraged when the injury was clearly severe? My dog has been left traumatised by this experience, and the handling of the situation by this business has been negligent and deeply concerning. I have formally reported this incident to the RSPCA. I would strongly advise any dog owner to think very carefully before trusting this establishment with their pet.

I have been to Pampered Pets several times with my Dad when he has taken both of his dogs for a trim and a bath. Today I took my boy to have his nails trimmed and his first ever bath as he is petrified of water. Today has been a great day for him, he had his nails trimmed and really loved his bath. The girls are fantastic, every one I have met has been kind, patient and very very caring about each dog they have there. Both me and my Dad would never take our Dogs anywhere else. Top service all the way. If you haven't tried Pampered Pets you really should as they offer a great stress free experience for the pet and the owner. See you again soon ladies and a massive thankyou to you all. Debbie x

Dogz Body Groomers - Belle leaving the vets

I am horrified with the experience my dog has been put through and the rude customer service!…read more I have been taking my Jackapoo Belle to dogz body for around 5 years now. Never had any problems before. On this experience, I dropped her off as usual and await a phone call to tell me she is ready! It had been nearly 4 hours and still I had not heard anything. So my partner rang to be told she is ready. So he went to collect her to be told that belle moved during the groom and was caught by the clippers but had been seen by the vet and they cleaned it and were happy it was just a "graze". My partner agreed that these things happen so paid full price for the groom (£38) When I saw her she was very scared and not herself and was only half groomed. She had eye lashes on one eye and not the other. Her ears were huge compared to her body. So I called the following day and to ask if I could bring her back in which was fine. Oh few days later I noticed that the so called "graze" opened up. So to me this was never a graze and was a CUT. I took Belle to the vets who said the wound was infected and belle was prescribed antibiotics and I had to pay for a cone to make sure belle couldn't lick the wound as it was causing her quite a bit of irritation. So by this point I am very unhappy because I have had to pay for a full groom plus a £60 vet bill. I contacted the owner of dogz body to explain and was told that she would not refund me for the groom or the vet bill because she has to pay her own vet bill for belle. She then went on to tell me that the vet had glued the wound on belles leg and that belle was ok when she left so now it's my problem that the wound has opened!! I was absolutely horrified that she has given consent for my dog to receive treatment from a vet who isn't belles normal vet! They have no records for belle! And when I questioned this apparently she has a piece of paper with belles details and a signature but no date!! But was getting defensive saying that if I took it further she would win the case because she has covered herself! I tried to stay very calm and explain to her that although it was an accident, you have injured my dog. I have had to pay for your services and had to pay for further treatment from the injury she had caused and she did not care what's so ever! She was so heartless! I have never been so devastated. I will definitely not be taking Belle back there and I certainly would never recommend this groomers to anyone!

Took him this weekend and was horrified to see that they had practically shaved all his fur off after I left instructions to cut same as last time. Worse still it looked like it had been done by a novice. Uneven cut as if I had done it myself. I am absolutely devastated. Don't think they are experienced to deal with all dog types so please be warned. My cavachon is so uncomfortable, wouldn't come out of his crate when I got him home ( seemed scared), and cold (who shaves a dog in November?). Unhappy puppy and mortified owner. Won't recommend or go back!
