It's unfortunate that this is the only coffee shop in town. The food and everything is good. (Not great, but definitely good.) However, the customer service experience was ultimately not worth it. I went here frequently over the course of a few months to feed my caffeine addiction - I often brought in coworkers for lunches, as well. I received all kinds of treatment from curt and dismissive to outright rude. The worst perpetrator was the owner. Not only that, but no one in the establishment has any knowledge about coffee or standard industry practices. After a specific incident, I just started brewing my own at home. The owner yelled at me in front of the entire store because when I went in for a dirty chai the day before her daughter (I didn't know of the relation at the time - not that it should matter) made the drink with about 3 times as much espresso as I asked for and I suggested that she speak with her boss about proper/standard espresso practices. (She didn't know the difference between a single and a double. I paid for it. I didn't complain. I didn't ask to speak to a manager. I just suggested she ask her boss the question, thanked her, and left.)
I have worked in customer service for years including being a barista for 6 years. I, also, teach kids, so I get protective parents. I promise you, I understand bad days and the occasional screw-up, but a bad attitude and inconsistency is the norm here. read more
