John agreed to come to the home to do a walk through and provide me with a quote. 2 hours before the scheduled appointment he contacted me saying he needed to cancel because his top customer needed an emergency clean. I spoke with him and told him there was no way I could find someone else on short notice, and asked if he could please accommodate me. He agreed and came to my home and provided a quote, just as we originally planned. He said he would be able to complete the work over the course of 3 days and have the job completed on time. I tried to contact him the next day to confirm and go over the details. I was unsuccessful. Therefore, I had my husband call from his phone (a number John did not have) and he answered right away. Immediately, John began to walk back what he promised the day before at the walk through. He was now unsure if he could complete the job and he "would do the best he could because he still has his other clients." He then ends the conversation with, "actually I am not going to do the job" and abruptly hangs up. Reluctantly I called back and left a voicemail with hope to come to an agreement; because he was supposed to start the work in less then 12 hours and I was desperate. Needless to say, he never called back. I truly believe he had every intention to completely blow me off. If I didn't reach out from a different phone number, he would have continued to ignore me and would not have showed up as scheduled. He clearly prioritizes his jobs/clients and if something better comes up, he has no problem going back on this word.

I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had basic proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that you can't communicate without a phone translator. Their work was beautiful and they were punctual and polite. All of that is great. I'm glad they could fit us in!

I was immediately impressed (even though it's sad that I should be!) that Jess is very business savvy. She provides auto billing via credit card and there is no doubt she is a legitimate, insured and bonded business. - When we want to make tweaks, changes etc she is very adaptive to change and does what it takes to get the job done. - I waited for a few months to review CWL but it's safe to say this is definitely the winner in the area. Clean all the base boards, clean the Formica cabinets, wash the floors in bathrooms, and hall and foyer. I had a Dr. appointment and dropped off my dog, (my wife was home) when I entered I saw a girl jumping up to clean the cabinets! When I told them I had a step stool they could not understand what I was talking about had to physically show her. They left the job not even half done. I called Manuela to discuss the poor job her help did and the first thing that comes out is 'I KNEW YOU WOULD BE A PROBLEM" I am still shaking my head over that. I even took pictures to show her how poorly the job was done, even better I am a 71 year old man went down with a sos pad and was able to get the rust mark off!
