It took me a long time to be able to make an appointment from my Groupon but I'm so glad I was finally able to. Jante is definitely experienced and knows what she's doing. For the scrub, she expertly moves towels and scrubs fast enough such that you're never cold. The massage itself is amazing. I had a horrible tense week and head to toe, she created an extremely relaxing atmosphere. During the facial, she was able to tell me on her own that I had combination skin and took her time with the extractions. Days later, my skin still looks very bright and glowing. Weekly Plus contacted me via email and said they would refund the purchase price of my coupons. BRAVO to Weekly Plus for standing behind their customers. Jante on the other hand handled the situation poorly from the start. Even without this spa package debacle I would not visit again. Read on if you'd like to know why. Otherwise, stop reading. I'm long winded. The "Beauty Boutique" is located in an old house, and is not spa-like at all. the towels and blankets they use on the beds are all mis-matched and shabby. There was no verbal consultation and they never explained anything about the service they would be providing. They put two of us in one room and told us to get undressed not knowing our marital status, beliefs on nudity etc. My boyfriend and I were told to stack our clothing and my purse on top of some "equipment" they had stashed in the closet. The room was small and dark and bordered the street so you could hear trucks going by the whole time. The room was off the entry hall and was only covered with a curtain, we could hear everything going on within the "boutique" like dishes clanking and people talking on the phone. When trying to "relax" the phone ringing sounded like a fire alarm. I was never once told what was being put on my face (same with the bf) and only once did I hear the owner ask my bf if the pressure was okay. She never asked me during my "massage" considering all she did was my arms and legs for 10 minutes and my back for 3-4 minutes. The floor boards also squeaked with every step they took. I would wait in suspense listening to the floorboards (while I was on the bed doing nothing with a dry towel on my face) to see if they were coming back to finish "treatment". There were at least 3 times when both people left the room (after covering our eyes or faces) with my boyfriend and I just laying there waiting. All I kept thinking was, "I feel like I'm in my cousin's basement and we're PLAYING spa day." I feel really bad for anyone who has ever paid full price (or at all) to visit this "spa". The only pros I can think of now were that they gave us pieces of chocolate, clementines, and mini cups of water before we left. My boyfriend asked me to eat my clementine in the car so we could "get the hell out" of there. Still, do not go here. Still DO patronize the Weekly Plus website. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a Vitamin C Facial. Note to self: always read Yelp reviews before purchasing online discount deals. The highlights: Janet, the owner, is a very nice lady who is working hard for her business. She is also a knowledgeable and experienced esthetician. I got a much needed neck and arm massage and came away with smooth and clean skin that felt great. The rest: The "spa" is in an old house and is not at all serene or spa-like. When I walked in, loud music was playing in the waiting area and I could hear it clearly later on while I was in the treatment room. The room itself was tiny and a portion of one wall was made of glass blocks that didn't reach all the way to the ceiling so there was an opening at the top that would have made me a bit uncomfortable if I hadn't been the only customer there. Also, the window was cracked slightly so I could hear traffic noise the entire time. There was no steam with the facial, which I thought was strange. There was little to no explanation about the different cleansers and masks she was using but I did, however, receive quite a sales pitch about the microdermabrasion package available for purchase as well as a few other products the spa sells. Janet was in and out of the room quite a bit. At one point I was left alone for so long I was beginning to wonder if she forgot about me (to be fair, she did tell me that this particular mask would take 5 to 10 minutes to set but it seemed like she was gone longer than that). I think I may have heard her talking on the phone but it could have been some lyrics in the music. With that confusion, plus the not-so-calming music and the noise of the neighborhood in my ears, I found it really hard to relax, even when I finally received the massage. It also didn't help that the phone starting ringing and didn't stop until after about 15 rings. By then, I was just ready to get out of there. I'm glad I didn't pay full price. So, if you'd like to get a good quality facial at a place that feels like you're at someone's house with plenty of distractions around, this may be the place for you. For the full-on tranquil and relaxing spa experience, you'll need to look elsewhere. read more

I had a couple's massage and while I have done this before I knew what to expect and it was lovely, both my husband and I were happy with the services. I had a pretty great experience and will be going back. The service was great, the owner was awesome and you should really give this place a shot, the services are great and you will leave happy! On a side note because apparently it is necessary to state..... I almost let the reviews scare me away, but thankfully their groupon deal was too good to pass up (couples spa package), so we gave it a shot. This is not your sterile, white-walled, white-towel, studio massage boutique. The owner of Jante chose an exotic color scheme, with a traditional medicine vibe. The quarters are cozy in this repurposed home. My boyfriend and I were led into the first room past the entryway where we undressed and got on our separate tables. This is not abnormal. I have no idea why someone wrote that she was traumatized by them expecting her to undress with her beau. She booked a couples massage, and that is pretty standard. Nonetheless, Jante's had offered us separate rooms for our treatments if that had been our preference. All that lady needed to do was ask! Our treatments began with a full body scrub, followed by a honey body mask. They seemed to take their time, and we definitely relaxed. The massages began, and as one other reviewer stated, they occasionally hurt a bit. I was impressed, delighted, and in heaven since it was a "hurt so good" experience, and I knew that pressure and effort was exactly what my muscles needed. Indeed I felt amazing afterwards. The owner was my masseuse, and it was clear that she knew exactly what was required to limber me up, while still allowing me to enjoy the massage. My boyfriend felt that his massage was a bit too strong, but he never said anything to his therapist, so I blame him for failing to communicate! Gentle swipes across your back won't work that tension out! The treatments ended with a facial which I loved. They even applied some light makeup so I could face the day (although I showered as soon as I got back to the hotel to clean off the massage oils). They brought us light salads of our choosing, and a glass of wine which we enjoyed in the entry area. Not an ideal dining spot, but the avocado salad was amazing and I later looked up recipes to make it at home. Their sales pitches at check-out were a bit too pushy, but it worked, and I'm happy with the products they advised me toward. I did, however, find one muscle relaxing product for 1/3 the price at a grocery store. My only upset was the difficulty booking. I was originally told it would be no problem to schedule, and my friends and I could come in for back to back appointments any day we were in town. After buying the coupons I was told there were no openings when they said, and we had to shift our plans around to make their only free appointment slot work once my friends left town. I would book there again. I felt amazing after, and a true therapeutic massage isn't about feeling amazing for just an hour, it's about the long-term affects. read more

Got a groupon here for a wax and although there's not much you can say about "liking" that experience she made it as painless as possible. Although other reviews have said to stay away- don't! I enjoy the location- yes it's an old house- it made it a bit more approachable for me without having those insane lavender perfumes, freezing cold rooms and white on white in each room. My friend and I just returned from our weekly plus winter excape spa day. sounds like such a fantastic day, right?.... read on 1. Get undressed and lay under your blood stained tiny towel. 2. We did not clean the floor from the previous customers, so there are remains from the scrub on the floor (watch your step) and we didn't have time to wash the sheets... so try your best to relax. 3. We will be back in in 20 minutes (our ad said plan on 3 hours... so what is waiting for 20 mins) 4. Your friend will lay there while I give you a 5 min chocolate scrub. Wait I didn't tell you where to leave your clothes so I will first step on them and then I will waste another couple mins moving them. You friend will lay there not knowing what is going on? 5. Next during your personal 3 hours I will work on your friend for 5 mins... you shall lay there and wonder what shall happen next. side note: during my winter escape I thought I would have my own personal therapist (or something along those lines) I didn't realize it was a tag team event. I also didn't realize people would be walking in and out whenever need be, phones ringing oh and dinner must have just got over because someone was washing dishes. 6. Anyone stil reading and considering this a good deal.... should we go on. An absolutely fraud of a business. Jante Beauty Boutique has been an absolute nightmare for my wife (for whom this was purchased) to schedule with and even receive her paid-for services, to which we still have not fully received. To begin, Jante canceled my wife's first appointment due to some type of emergency. It was rescheduled and they never called to confirm the appointment. My wife showed up to the scheduled appointment and no one was even at the location, because they just assumed my wife wasn't coming for some reason. This location is 45 minutes away and my wife had to wait another 30 minutes for the masseuse to even show up. Because of limited time due to her not being on site at the proper time, she couldn't even deliver the full treatment so the facial had to be rescheduled. To boot, because the masseuse wasn't on site early like they're supposed to be, the towels weren't heated up so my wife had cold towels on her back, and the masseuse even left mid-massage to take phone calls. There is nothing professional about this business. I feel completely duped that I spent so much money on this gift for my wife. Fast forward, the facial has been rescheduled to today and of course, Jante calls and asks to reschedule again because of snow. We're in Golden and even the snow here is perfectly drivable. This business is a joke and I would strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere, as there are many other businesses I've bought massages for my wife, which have been great experiences. read more

I have gone to this place twice. Honestly not sure if I would go back. First time I had a good experience; cheap massage by Janet (owner) who is very good. Then I saw option to get a Weekly Plus coupon for a spa event-I must say I was very disappointed-very loud and they seemed to be tag teaming me--should have taken 3 hours for the service-took maybe an hour for facial, massage and scrub-they were giving me a facial and a massage at the same time....seriously. Also there were often times whent he phone was ringing and people were talking and coming and going in the room while I was laying there under a sheet. I'm not sure what I expected when I bought a Groupon to Jante, but I certainly expected better than what I received. When I called, the owner was very accommodating in making my appointment. However, when I arrived, the staff had no clue what my appointment was for and was not ready for me. I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute European facial, and was given said facial, but the "Spa" is not up to par. First off, it is in a small house. I'm pretty sure there is only one room for all services and patrons. How can this place stay open if they can only do one treatment at a time? After I was led into the room, which was right on Downing and looked rather sketchy, I was to undress and get under the covers. I waited under the blanket for 15 minutes! I almost got out of the bed to look for someone. The house/spa is loud. Throughout the entire treatment you hear the phone ring, conversations, people coming in and out, and loud music (which is coming from the waiting room, not the treatment room). The facial itself was okay, but I was never told which line of products were being used, what products were being used and why (ex: I am now applying a tea tree mask which needs to sit for 5 min.) etc. The girl giving the facial was VERY strong. Her shoulder massage was intense, as was her pressure on my face.... yikes. She also left the room a few times without any explanation. This was the most UN-relaxing facial I have ever had. It did the trick to clean my pores, but I'm looking for a relaxing experience in a clean, friendly, organized, professional establishment. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. This was the most horrible spa experience I have ever had. First, they put me and my mother-in-law in the same room. I told her that would be uncomfortable for us and she nodded but didn't change it. I didn't want to ruin things so I just went with it. We bought the Rainforest package which was supposed to include: Full Body scrub, Full Body masque, Full Body Massage, a facial and lunch with wine. First, The full body scrub was just the back side - once the scrub was applied it was removed with a damp face cloth. No shower, no warm water...just a damp cloth. The same thing happened with the "full body" masque... one side and removed with a damp face cloth. The massage was good... the facial was silly... she rubbed some honey masque on my face and ...yes... again she removed it with a damp face cloth. All the while the owner telling me my shakras were bad and really really needed a lot of work and that I needed to relax... well what do you think I was trying to do? The lunch was some greens from a bag and dressing. She asked if we wanted wine or champagne and we both asked for wine - so she left one mini wine and one mini champagne on the table because that was all that she had. read more

I had the worst experience with my husband for the winter escape. When we arrived we were told that there was only one therapist for the package for TWO OF US!!! I asked how this was to happen and I was informed that she would go back and forth. I told janet, the owner/therapist I would have appreciated the information prior to our arrival so we could have avoided the trek to this location. It was a nightmare....young children kept opening and shutting the door asking for grandma, food and gum while we were on the treatment tables. I understand the room faces the busy street, but with the insanity that we were experiencing, everything was personified. The loud phones ringing (how about mute while you are the only therapist in the building working on two people at once? ),the children screaming and running the inept spa treatments of the therapist doing a little on me, a little on my husband, the traffic the phones, ), the creaky old floors as she walked around and back and forth between the tables, This is not our first trip to a "spa". Recently I got a facial here. Facial went smoothly (besides the employees unasked attitude). Minutes later after.. my skin felt ITCHY and very Uncomfortable. I look in the mirror to see my face FULL IN HIVES. Of course I freaked out and the rude employee brushed it off by saying it was normal and then as she walked away she started laughing with another employee!!! I have never written an online review before, but this was such a terrible experience, I'm hoping to save others their time, money, and skin! This was the worst experience as a whole that I have ever had in getting a facial. Janet was not friendly at all, and in fact didn't even introduce herself. I was to get a European facial and arm massage, but as others have stated, it's very difficult to relax at all here. She didn't explain anything she was putting on my face, and used a Clarisonic so hard, that I told her it actually hurt. Plus, when you think about it, how unsanitary must that be as I'm sure the Clarisonic head is being used for at least 6 months at a time before being replaced. Gross and scary! She dug on my face and then proceeded to be in and out of the room so much that at one point, I thought she was doing a mini massage elsewhere. At the end of my "facial" she proceeded to put make-up on my skin and didn't even tell me she was doing this--another thing that has NEVER happened, nor should it. She was not personable, not communicative, and the whole experience here isn't worth the time it took to click the Groupon deal. Please, save yourself and get a facial where: They actually use WARM, CLEAN towels and STEAM. The esthetician does not leave the room. The esthetician talks to you about your skin concerns and reassures you WHAT she is putting on your skin. You do not walk away with swollen, red marks all over your face and a make up job fit for a coffin. Not only was the massage fabulous, but Janet took the time to help me relax and let go of all the tension that I was holding mentally and emotionally. I don't live in Colorado anymore but I will certainly visit Janet when I am back in town. I enjoyed my services very much and I think the house in which the spa is located has character. This is by far the best massage and treatment I have ever had. I had an Ncrowd deal for a full body scrub, foot treatment, full massage facial and lunch. To say Janet knows what she is doing is an understatement. I was pampered for over 2 hours- she focused in on tense areas immediately with just the right amount of pressure and the pumpkin scrub, foot treatment and facial were divine. I had my first treatment through Groupon Daily Deals, it was a facial, it was pretty great for the price, though the atmosphere as the other reviews suggests is less then professional. At the end of the treatment the esthetician offered another treatment at the same price, I agreed and paid in advance, and made an appointment for two weeks later. My real problem is that they canceled that appointment, saying the owner was going out of town and the whole spa had to be shutdown, until her return. So we reschedule for the next week....and they cancel yet again, we reschedule for two days later, and they cancel yet again. I now have paid $45.00 for a facial that I can't get them to fulfill. Also when canceling they always call on the day of the facial, not a day prior or even a couple hours ahead of time, they call just about 40 min ahead of time; leaving me both disappointed and angry at the lack of consideration. Please if you read this spend you money else where I have now paid $90 for what should have been a $45.00 facial. I'm pretty sure I have been reverse Gouponed. read more

It was hard to find, ok atmosphere at first. She was so rushed it was a total rip off. $65 for loud pop music and having things pulled off my face so fast it made me jump. The room where the facial was done was cluttered with visible messy storage. I can't remember the name of the woman who did it, her name began with a C, but she didn't even ask what my problems where, what kind of skin I had (oily, dry, acne prone etc) and she didn't seem to care at all about not letting the trash can or drawer slam.
