In addition, Foothills Animal Hospital, who shares the joint lot, is completely ok with this business using some of the additional parking spots. I'm sorry, but there is neighborhood parking for their students/ families, and they are not entitled to the whole lot when they only pay for a few spots.

This dojo is deliberate in creating a balance between kata, kumite (sparring), and basics. It is also set as a traditional Japanese dojo teaching Wado Ryu Karate. This is not a cut-throat plaza mall dojo, like the Cobra Kai in "Karate Kid", that teaches students to harm each other and fight as a primary resource to resolving a physical confrontation. If you are looking for a fight club, look elsewhere. That being said, my son specializes in fighting here and does very well. He has participated in over 30 tournaments in AZ, CA, UT, CO, and NV. He has won several of these, and usually medals at every event. He is part of a competition team that takes extra time to train in fighting and competing. I am confident in his abilities. The dojo is restructuring, and growing, and all for the better. It has the best workshops, training clinics, guest speakers, and REAL tournament training by far. I couldn't be more proud to recommend it to anyone looking for polished and professional, traditional Japanese technique and practical self-defense instruction.

Honestly, overall I was looking for a fun & friendly environment where I can get state of the art instruction and help me grow both as an athlete and as someone who loves the sport. Jay's gym has it all, and I guarantee you this place will be a perfect fit for you whether you are a hobbyist or an elite competitor looking for some tough rolls, or if you are looking for a family friendly environment to train for you & your loved ones. Absolutely 100% recommend this place, and thank you Jay Pages for being so welcoming and accommodating! P.S. The facility is AWESOME!!!

The atmosphere gives more of a family feel than just a business feel. Jay, the team, and the rest of the coaches treat you as if you are blood related. It's always a good vibe here and so much more to learn as well as many opportunities this gym has to offer from Belt advancements to sponsorships to competitions and more! Not only does this place give a family feel to the environment, but the people you train with are awesome as well! If you are new, you can join the beginners class. But even if you want more of a challenge and are new, you will be taught in hard sparring as well. I've made some friends in this school as well. If y'all want to learn the martial arts as well as grow within this community, this is definitely the place to go to.

They are learning how to defend themselves, gaining more confidence, practicing self discipline, and much more. My 14 year old is also in the ATA Legacy Instructor Training Program which teaches leadership skills that will be used her entire life. My 9 year old loves the positive discipline he receives. He thrives off of being built up by his team but also enjoys building up others. I joined about six months after my kids because Sr. Master Healey started a Mom's Club. It was life changing. Not only for my health but, also for my family. It brought us closer together because we were doing things as a family. No matter how hard we try as parents I think we all lack something somewhere. Healey's Legacy Master Martial Arts has helped fill that gap. I can't thank Mr. and Mrs. Sr. Master Healey enough. They (including Mr. Healey, Master Orvis, and Master Mckersie) are so passionate about what and how they teach. They are all amazing instructors! Very seldom can you find this kind of value. I/we are so blessed to be a part of this family (school).
