First off Don't go anywhere else to get your transmission fixed! 10/10! This includes Full Rebuilds, Refresh/Refurbish or fixing isolated problems! I have had 3 transmissions Fully rebuilt by these guys ( Kevin and the Builder his father ) including Automatic /AWD manual daily and high performance transmissions. They can work on absolutly anything and are extremenly meticulous to detail and perfecting their craft. They do AMAZING work, honest throughout the whole process. Detailed in every way. It is re assuring to know they have your back through the entire rebuild / repair process and always think of every little detail along the way. There is just not a better transmission shop in the area to get your problem fixed. These guys are fair and worth every penny. I have full confidence every time I install a transmission from these guys that its going to shift smooth and last me a long time. The transmission in my 2015…read moreBuick LaCrosse has been running rough for a couple years now, been able to limp along but got to the point where it had to be replaced. At 150K I got my money's worth, but I was faced with the choice of getting a new transmission (which costs more the the vehicle is currently worth) or junking the car and buying a new vehicle. Unfortunately, can't afford a new car payment right now, and I know my engine is still in great shape as I maintain all my vehicles carefully and on schedule and I can probably (hopefully) get another 100K out of it. Discussed options with Don, and we both felt a used transmission would be the most cost effective option given the vehicle age and history. He found a low mileage used transmission that was in good shape and installed it for me in a matter of a couple days. But what he did on top of that is why I will be a customer for life. I mentioned in passing that I've been having emissions codes pop up, and given that I was still running the original O2 sensors, I'd bought new ones that I was going to install on my own. I asked if he'd be willing to put them in for me when the transmission was out, simply because access would be so much easier at that time, rather than me at home laying on the garage floor with the car on jack stands, trying to wrap my arms around the tranny to get to the top of the unit where the spots on the manifold are. He was willing to do that for me, and in so doing, he actually noticed that my manifold had some cracks where the ports connect to the engine. Don, on his own, took my manifold off, brought it to his house after work, and fixed the cracks with his welder. All on his own time and dime. He reinstalled it for me, along with the O2 sensors, before reinstalling the transmission. Who the heck does things like this anymore, if ever? This is like the kind of care and service people got decades ago. And why this is exceptionally meaningful to me is, I'm soon to be laid off from work in October, and my wife is fighting through a recurrence of thyroid cancer. We've been struggling emotionally. I was so moved by this I literally teared up when I picked it up. It was such a damn sweet gesture. Getting wet eyed just typing this. Just a wonderful man running a great crew who does awesome work.

Tom made it personable and made me feel very confident in choosing the right shop for a not so cheap job. I had heard from various people(GM 17-21)who had experienced the same problem with the transmission going out, who had mentioned they had spent less or more and they were not satisfied. Either job not well done with the transmission or it simply just being a GM issue with these particular years that shops can't get right. Well House of Automatic Transmissions nailed it. Bonus: they work on old school cars and it's nice to see them in the shop as they are working on them. If that doesn't tell you experience I don't know what does.

I've been meaning to write a review for John as he did such a stellar job for us many years ago but I wasn't sure what his business name was at the time. The owner, John, is a REALLY cool dude. My girlfriend's mom's '03 TL had the typical 5 speed auto failure at around 186k despite being bought new and babied. While we're in San Jose and John is in Sacramento, we felt his extremely fair price and Honda expertise warranted the trip, so I pulled the transmission myself and we dropped it off to John. It was done quickly and came back looking and functioning flawless. In fact, I had broken one of the sensor's plugs when I dropped the tranny and was already planning to have to go to the junkyard for another or something but I was very surprised to see a brand new one on there when we received the transmission back. As I recall as well, he dropped it off to us in SJ so we didnt have to make two round trips to Sac! Super cool of him to do. He rebuilt it for us 2016 or 2017, and the car now has about 50k more miles on it since then and the transmission has still been flawless. John knows the ins and outs of Honda transmissions and is absolutely the guy you need to use for a rebuild!

After only one week, the car was returned to me, and I am happy. Jonathan was a joy to deal with, and the car is better than expected. Yes, it shifts perfectly, but it also improved the driving quality, including steering & handling (I wasn't expecting that part, and now the car seems much more "planted" and is more fun to drive.) If you need your Honda transmission serviced to perfection, this shop is worth seeking out. Transmission work is never cheap, but I feel this shop provides great value, in return for less money than one might expect.

When we went to pick up the car the dude was EXTREMLY UNPROFESSIONAL, treated us like we were stupid bc we were asking questions abt WHAT was fixed and WHY, which we have the right to bc i want to know why am i paying 1000$ in cash????? I came to pick up the car and obviously i asked questions (since there were so many ADDITIONAL costs) and he had the audacity to get mad at ME for asking questions ???? He was like "ur not understanding" "i can tell u dont understand cars" like obviously ?????? If i did know cars I WOULDNT BE HERE I WOULD FIX IT MYSELF?? The entire time he kept getting mad that we were asking very valid questions - very unprofessional I wouldnt go back just based on how rude he was to me. Second of all, we came only for the AC being fixed, and he charged over $1000 LOL. He kept adding on random things like cleaning leaves on the front hood ???? Changed the cabin filter, radiator cap?? The diagnostic was supposed to be free, but then he charged $300 for it. It was a whole mess and i dont have clarity bc when i asked questions he would get really agitated and upset. When he did the walkthrough of the car he also said he wouldnt charge for the radiator cap or the valve - but he charged for it on the receipt! So then i asked why did you JUST say it was free then now youre charging me for it?? And he got upset and started saying something about he gave us a discount on the labor! The labor shouldve cost much more etc etc.....idk i was over it. It was a whole thing. FINALLY when it came time to pay, he said cash, check or zelle only. I said we only had card and said his credit card machine has been broken for months......if u wanted to commit tax fraud you can just say that and be honest. We also asked about the warranty. He originally said 1year. Then in the span of 30secs it went down from oh labor is 1yr, the parts only have 6month warranty. THEN the paper only says 90days so by that point i was like okay whatever - we'll just literally never come back. He's just making stuff up and lying as we speak. Worst shop ive been to ever. I explained the reason why we had so many questions was bc we came in for one thing, and bam theres now so many random things hes charging for? I told him every other (reputable) shop gives an estimate and if they find something wrong later, they ALWAYS call, explain it to me, tell me the new estimate and ask if its okay. They never ever fix it without saying anything. I couldve done the coolant and filter and cleaned the leaves myself!
