Saw a review on here about half off sushi after 8:30 PM. That is CAP. I went there because of this fact and had to double check the date on the sushi. Pretty mid overall. Asked the guy running the counter if the half off deal was true and he denied it in a pretty rude way. I should have walked out at that point. Sushi: Rice so hard it must be from the stone age. Spicy tuna rolls work but color is beyond red the dye guy must have overdone it. Come here if you're next door after the bar. read more

This market closes pretty late and has half off sushi specials after 8:30 pm. It's convenient and walking distance from where we were staying. The onigiri was less than $4 and it was fresh and tasty. I'll definitely come back and recommend this market for a late night snack. read more

There is something wrong with this place. From day one there has been a weird chemical smell in there that permeates all their products as well. I thought maybe that was just from painting in there but no, my whole house stunk after bringing home items. I had to toss them. Also they refrigerate their onigiri which makes it taste gross. Don't be like me, walk up to Ubi Mart instead, it is far superior. These other reviews gotta be paid for because we are not talking about the same place here! read more

I love this Japanese market so much and am so fortunate to have this place just few blocks from where I live. Not that often do you see a Japanese market in Williamsburg until these days where gentrification is really popular. Now I don't have to hike to elsewhere for Japanese and Asian goods anymore. What a convenience! This place sells the same Asian goods I can find in Chinatown without having a long commute! I love how they have green and black milk teas especially the Lipton brand that I love! I just love the aroma of the tea although I do find it a bit sweet but the aroma beats the sweetness anytime! There are many sushi platters of salmon, tuna, California rolls, and eel plus onigiris! Onigiris are pretty fresh! They have yellowtail and white tuna, which are my favorite! Taste so good when you bite into it! This store also carries a lot of different Lays chips of different flavors like tomato, steak, lobster, and many more flavors in stock! Also come here for matcha ice cream, which is one of the main reasons why I come here if I'm craving for matcha! Also I love this place so much because they always give me free goodies in every purchase! So far they gave me Grilled Corn Flavor Crispy Coconut Roll and some mini rice crackers! It's nice having an Asian market in the neighborhood, however definitely overpriced. I get it, it's demand and availability but still overpriced. Some of the frozen stuff is packaged in a manner where one would think it's wholesale for restaurants, but it was divvied in smaller portions for consumers. read more

Very nice place, I went there to get Japanese milk bread. However, in the store they knew it as "Hotel Bread" it was in the refrigerated section along with different types of sushi, and onigiri. I purchased a "lobster salad" onigiri, it was good and tasted fresh. Only con is that everything in the store is overpriced, but that's what you get for the convenience so it's totally understandable. I will definitely be returning! read more

My husband and I stopped by this market yesterday evening just to check it out. From the outside it doesn't look like much but when you open the door and step inside, it's a whole new world filled with Japanese goodies. This Japanese market had many interesting snacks, noodles, drinks and frozen products. Many of products were Japanese but there were also others that were not. I even found Sparkling Chupa Chupa can beverages. I thought Chupa Chupa was a lollipops brand only. Who knew? We purchased Coca cola in a glass bottle, Kyoto White yuzu (Kizakura's first craft malt beverage), and Kasugai green peas snack packet. Both of the beverages were refreshing and nice. The green peas were crunchy and yummy. The market was clean, organized well, and the store manager was friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area again, I wouldn't mind stopping by and buying other beverages. read more

When I first moved to nyc, I honestly wasn't expecting to be next to any legit market where I can do any shopping, let alone, an asian grocery. I thought the best I was gunna get was a corner liquor store with a small grocery section. And so I was pleasantly surprised to walk by this cute mom and pop japanese market so close to where I live! They have a pretty good selection for most of your asian foods needs and the prices are very reasonable. I have been wanting to visit this store for a while. I love Asian foods and especially love Japanese food. I walked by in the rain and saw it was open. The store wasn't very busy so I felt free to peruse the aisles. Its a small store but they do fit a lot in the space they have. I walked through each aisle and looked over all the things. The cold case intrigued me as I love Onigiri and Japanese pickles but I saved that for last since those were refrigerated. I enjoyed the snack aisle where I picked up some shrimp chips and wandered into the noodle section and got a pack of spicy ramen. There are also some other Asian - not just Japanese - ingredients which I made a note of. I found the prices to be above average but considered it to be par for the area. I grabbed a $6 salmon onigiri and made my way to check out. The person ringing me up threw in a bag of sour cream and onion chips which had an expired sell by date but they were still fresh-tasting and delicious. I was hoping they had more prepared foods/sushi but there's still a good variety and a nice selection of frozen foods to choose from. read more

Thank Goodness for this place!!!!! Ten Ichi on Berry is expensive for no good reason. Cooked food and sushi is not good and overpriced imo. This place doesn't have so many cooked options but their onigiri are excellent and sushi grade sashimi is delicious and good price. unassuming market with delicious onigiri! and huge selection of yummy japanese snacks. they also had a few kinds free snacks/candies at the counter that we were encouraged to take home and try! the onigiri usually has a selection for grab and go, but they can make any kind you want from the menu anytime and theyre very fast! read more
