I was in the area so I stopped in on a Thursday at noon. It is literally the smallest food truck I've ever seen. It is located just outside of the Chanel store in a small courtyard located in the Miami Design District. This Japanese shaved ice is like a Colombian raspado but at a higher price point and with way more toppings. I tried the small matcha cake ($8). As the base, it has plain shaved ice with a cold matcha flavored syrup added to the ice. There are pieces of small cookies (sort of like Pirulín) with sweet matcha-flavored filling mixed in. Matcha is very bitter. I should have gone with the passion fruit. It cost $8 then I had to pay for parking in the garage ($3) because there is very limited street parking in general. A bit pricey IMHO for a raspado but the setting is very calming and the service was good.

Cute little dessert stand towards the back Miami's Design District. I think this place is one of the hidden gems of the design district. The price for what you get is not bad at all! Considering all the other expensive $$$$ places for small bites (I'm looking at you Dior Cafe ) located in the Design District. The Japanese Shaved ice was so refreshing! I got the Matcha Cake, while one of my friends got the Goku. The Matcha Cake was not too sweet at all. The matcha flavor was perfectly balanced with the refreshing shaved iced and the milk espuma on top was very pillowy and foamy in texture. I didn't try the Goku, but my friend finish every last bit/drop, so I'm assuming they really liked it also. I'd definitely recommend you to visit this place if you are in the area. Parking is pretty affordable too. If you park in one if the garages, it is $3 for 4 hours - much better than the street parking nearby.

Super mid. Literally just shaved ice with syrup. I got matcha and mango and both taste very bland. If you have the food preferences of an almond mom (i.e., bland, low sugar, low calorie) then this is the place for you.

Love it! So tasty, light and very few calories! Perfect combo! Wish they had more locations throughout the city!

A little cart in the design district with a wide variety of shaved ice flavors, with a very helpful attendant and really friendly service... nothing like it on a hot Miami day... but hurry... the heat will turn to juice your shaved ice in no time.

I was walking by, for the first time in the area and couldn't help but to think about those Japanese shaved ice cups I kept walking around the shopping center and on my way back towards my car. I had to make a stop and try them fruity ice cups. I went with the passion fruit and white cream on top. Did not disappointed My friend wanted the sweetest one, and so she was suggested to get the dulce de leche or strawberry. Dulce The leche was the winner and it was also yammy Give it shot if you're in the area. Now during Covid times and in this Miami weather, it'll be a delightful surprise

I accidentally stumbled on this cart when I was looking to get ice cream from Frohzen, so I figured a little extra ice wouldn't hurt. Self-advertised as the "first kakigori shop in Miami", this is a great start for the city. I groaned at first when I saw some of the menu options until I saw them listed under "Kids Flavors", in which case one with gummy bears and one with starburst is not a bad idea at all to entice children to want to try something different. But for adults, please stick to the top portion of the menu, which includes a great Passionfruit flavor ($9 for regular and $8 for small). The Strawberry Pistachio is also solid. The texture on both was a bit icy, but still a great new tasty, lighter option that is welcome in the Miami heat.

Japanese Shaved ice food truck. Love this spot in design district. Grabbed the dulce de leche brownie. Friendly staff. A bit pricey but you're paying the area. Huge shaved ice fanatic and this one is really one of My favorites in the Miami area. Well recommended.

If you see this little sweet shaved iced mini dessert truck in the Design District, make sure to stop by and grab your treat! Karigori is a Japanese dessert consisting of delicately shaved ice flavored w sweet syrup and condensed milk. I ordered a small limited flavor Pineapple Avalanche, a mini mountain of ice topped w a sweet and tart syrups along w light whipped cream acting as the cocunut espuma, chunks of pineapple and macadamia nut top the goodness! The location of the dessert truck is near the Gucci store and has ample seating area to enjoy your treat!

We stopped by this cute little shaved ice stand for a quick break from the heat. We tried the original lemonade flavor, which was good, and the server was friendly. I'll give 4 rather than 5 just because the prices were pretty high for what you get, but I suppose that's a hazard of the area!

When I first saw this Japanese shaved ice cart I talked myself out of getting anything. But while I was doing my nails upstairs at Vanity Projects I just couldn't stop thinking about Japow. Following my appointment, I decided to give it a try, and I'm SO glad I did. The person taking my order was incredibly kind and knowledgable. I was between two flavors (dulce de leche brownie & matcha tres leches) and she did not lead me astray with her recommendation. The dulce de leche brownie was DELISH. It's was a light sweet treat with plenty of dulce de leche flavor and a nice brownie crunch. If you find yourself in the Design District, definitely stop by!

We got a strawberry pistachio snow come. Very tasty. Very refreshing. Very light. It was so good we immediately got a second one. The ice is super finely shaved, so it melts kind of fast in the hot Florida weather but it won't matter because you eat it so fast. About halfway to the bottom they layer the sauce, espuma, and pistachio, which makes the bottom just as just as the top. I was surprised how well the pistachio nuts went with the strawberry flavor but it was delicious.

Japow is a beautiful place!! The shaved ice and mango milk was is perfect. Cthe portion size was just enough and for the price, especially in that area. Can't wait to go back, i saw that she sold bubble tea in a can.

Hiding out behind a secret-passage door, Kaido houses Ama: a speakeasy reservation-only "omakase"…read morespot. Named after and inspired by Japanese pearl divers of the '60s, diners can expect one of Miami's most ambitious chef's tasting (AMA-kase) menus featuring chef Brad Kilgore's latest creations: some courses off the Kaido menu, and others available exclusively to AMA. While Kaido's patrons sip and head-bop to the background music thumps of today outside, the high-energy Ama experience inside loudly flows through '90s hip-hop anthems complete with Snoop, Dre, and Biggie... hip, hop, hooray to that! Gin and juice, optional. Arrive a little earlier to enjoy a cocktail at the elegant Kaido lounge before being escorted into the private AMA space. I won't spill the tea regarding the entrance ritual, but know you can expect a multisensory journey once you've been "initiated." Innovative and refreshing highlights (and the ones I can't stop talking about) include the Foie-Kigori (hand-shaved ice of foie gras infused with tea over jackfruit espuma, passionfruit, and rice masago), the dreamiest Chawanmushi "scrambled egg" (slowly and delicately stirred with fresh truffle butter), and the instant crowd favorite Uni Fondue (with Alaskan king crab). Before you leave, take a second to look down and appreciate the exquisite details of the turquoise and gold flooring. And visit the bathroom. You're welcome. Tips: Follow Kaido's social media accounts for announcements on reservations release dates. Prepare and speed up the reservation process by creating an account on Tock. If available, I highly suggest the wine/beer/cocktail pairing to get the full experience on your first visit.

Chef Kilgore takes you though a journey through Japan and surrounding regions with each minute dish. My favorite dishes were the "scramble egg" and the enoki carbonara, the foie-kigori had Japanese shaved ice. For dessert, the sesame cookie with unfiltered milky sake was a stand out. If you have any allergies or dislike a item, the item will be removed (not replaced). In my menu, the beef tartare was removed and not replaced with an alternative. EXPERIENCE: It all starts when we check in and have a cocktail at Kaido while you wait for Ama to open. There is a majestic chandelier made of 1,200 golden butterfly knives representing a sea urchin. Then, we are escorted to a tiny room where we received a welcome spirit served from tea pot. After this, we enter the hidden bar area AMA, with blue and gold shimmering floors, and vintage Japanese Pachinko gaming machines on the wall. The chef comes out, greets everybody and explains how dinner will be served. He also mentions we'll have to like his music style which is mostly 2000s. Upon completion, we exit through the kitchen and each couple gets a gold take out box with the same spirit we drank at the beginning of the night. RESERVATIONS & PRICING: Seating is limited to 8 people at a time for the dinner service so you'll have to reserve in advance. 16 course meal: $120 + tax + service Drinks pairing: $120 + tax + service Individual cocktails range $12-20 Overall, we had a beautiful experience. AMA is a great place to come on a date or alone. The staff is helpful in describing the variety of Japanese whiskeys dating back to 1963, carefully explaining each dish, as well as filling up your glass with water. If you have visited El Cielo, The Bazaar, Hiden, you'll love AMA.

There isn't any Filipino spots in Miami for real so this is the only place that I could find in Wynwood. I don't get why people say that this spot is far from Filipino food when it is obviously supposed to show Filipino food in a creative way and showcase street food too... But I'm glad I experienced it for myself and enjoyed my time. The chicken BBQ skewers tasted exactly how it was supposed to. So I know it was marinated appropriately and cased with banana ketchup!!!! I appreciate the chicken lumpia option. Not many people serve lumpia options that aren't beef or pork... so that definitely won me over too. My only complaint was that the beef tapas was not hitting the way it was supposed to. It was giving more of a bistek feel than tapas. I hope that I just caught them on a bad day or that they can refine that recipe. I'm hopeful that it can improve. ALSO -- really loved that Jamaican tea they have. Forgot the exact name of it. But I could drink gallons of it. Lol.

It's a simple menu with prices ranging from $8-10 but the food is savory and well-priced, and you will always be served with a smile. They offer a variety of tasty items including chicken caesar salads or wraps, chicken tenders or wings, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, and eggroll sandwiches (that last one is very Miami - it's a mix of eggrolls, smoked pork, ham & cheese, pickles, and honey mustard.
