This is hands down the best gelato I've had in all of Miami. Had the pistachio baklava and the dulce de leche with chocolate--both outstanding. Some reviewers complain about the price, but at $11 for 2 scoops, I don't think it was bad for the incredible quality of the product. I'd pay it again anytime. Highly recommend. read more

I really love this ice cream, not just for the flavor but for the experience. Enjoying your ice cream in the charming surroundings of Buena Vista, paired with a coffee from Finca's, is the perfect way to spend time alone or with loved ones. My ultimate favorite flavors are dulce de leche with chocolate chunks, coconut alfajor, and Ferrero Rocher. With such a wide variety, you'll definitely find a flavor you love. They also have a bunch of house-made toppings, but I never use them because the ice cream itself is perfect. Our go to when it comes to ice cream in the Edgewater / Midtown area... Well worth the drive, every time! Husband + wife small business and you can tell they take great pride in their product, focusing on natural ingredients and great service. My wife has a bit of a sweet tooth but struggles with desserts that don't always make her feel great - she never has an issue at Peek A Treat since they really do use clean ingredients... Exceptionally friendly ice cream food truck entrepreneur. Good selection of tasty vegan sorbets as well as regular ice cream. He also had some baked bites as captured in my photo (menu). Peek A Treat was also quite proud of their vegan and gluten free ice cream cone. I left with the passion fruit mango sorbet, which reminded me of a childhood drink of mine. My friend got a strawberry one. There were some uniquer and rotational flavors as well. The vendor seemed to be having a good flow of customers. It's a truck located sort of off center in the upper buena vista area. It's fine to show up whatever you're style is and you can find seating around the common area. read more

The dulce de luche is to die for here. I was so full after the Turkish restaurant but the owner sold me with the ice cream sample. I got the dulce de leche alfajor dipped in chocolate & nuts. I would not go back - it was a rip off. We ordered 2 scoops and she asked us if we wanted separate cups and we said ok. When we looked at the credit card charge it was $20 instead of $12 for 2 scoops. So $8 for a paper cup. The worst thing was we told her we just wanted 2 scoops in a single cup and she refused. Is this customer service in miami? I will never go back - what a shame as it's a nice location read more

Even more so than the food itself, WHO is serving you is key here: all the young men who work there are participants in the Empowered Youth program. EY is an intervention program for kids 13-18 who got in trouble with the law (minor, nonviolent offenses) and have made a commitment to participate in EY to have their record expunged. Since 2006, EY has provided mentorship opportunities for these young men, most of whom have no male role model at home. They also learn anger management, receive tutoring assistance, and job training - like what is provided via the Vibe 305 food truck, where participants who have studied with a chef and have received their Food Handler and/or Food Safety Manager Certification can participate. EY does a great job in providing these at-risk inner-city youth the tools and support they need to change their life's trajectory and not only beat the odds but also to become positive, productive role models in their families and communities. We arrived shortly after leaving our cruise and were seated without an issue, but while we were there, I heard people being quoted anywhere from a 30-minute wait to over an hour. If it's your last morning before heading home, that may not fit your schedule, but I can honestly say it's worth the wait. Amazing food, great service, fun atmosphere, and an experience we'll definitely be coming back for. Bistro's Cafe has earned a permanent spot on my Miami list!

It tasted pretty healthy, but probably not something I would order again.
