Visited The secret garden on a Sunday night. Walking into the restaurant I was blown away by the elegant high scale ambiance. The decor leading up to the rooftop was absolutely stunning and like nothing I've ever seen. The dining area was intimate and nicely lit. Upon sitting, our servers immediately greeted my party. They explained the menu briefly. I will say that throughout my visit, I was checked on by my server, multiple times. It was not overwhelming, and they genuinely wanted to make sure I had the best experience. Based on our servers recommendation I ordered the aperitivos. Came with delicious warm bread and butter, tempura prawns, dumplings, egg rolls, salmon tartare and crab rangoons. Everything was delicious. I also ordered the burrata. I was blown away by each and every dish. As far as drinks, this restaurant has the most unique and delicious cocktail. I tried the Sayonara Baby, No me llames muñeca, Taparrabos de Adan y Eva, Al Agua Patos, Love Potion, and Maracas de Machin. All of the drinks were delicious, refreshing and insanely cute. You could easily tell there was a lot of care and details put into each drink. If you cannot tell by this review, the food is beyond delicious. WOW! quite literally the MOST beautiful rooftop I've ever been to (and I've been to my fair share of rooftop restaurants and bars in many states & cities) *Arriving You first enter through what looks like a boutique that's in the middle of this outdoor shopping plaza! The store is near a CBD shop & Taco Bell... It's easy to miss so if you go far past the first CBD shop then you went too far. Once you arrive someone in the store will escort you to the rooftop. Each floor/level has such an amazing ambiance and decor! Overall, the interior & exterior design (on the rooftop) was top notch! It was very well executed & detailed throughout the entirety of the restaurant! As you can see, the drinks were so unique & also really good! I love the creativity put into the presentation! The average price for each cocktail were around 15 euros/pounds! Some were about 30 pounds. They also had a Mocktail menu that also had the same creative presentation to it! We only had appetizers and unfortunately I can't remember the exact name of the dishes because my friend ordered them! We ate a platter with some of the best cream cheese crab rangoons I've ever had! We also had some crackers with cheese, pesto and cherry tomatoes which was also very good If you are every in Madrid, you HAVE to try this place out! Found Jardin Secreto at the last minute as it was near our lodging. We really liked what we saw on the menu and were able to get a reservation indoors where it was pleasant, cool and a fan was already prepared by our reserved table. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to answer questions. They were hustling during the entire service because the place was packed! The service did seem slow at times, but appeared to be more of a function of being understaffed and not an issue with the quality of the wait staff (we understand that sometimes people don't show up and that can have an impact on the rest of the team). The drink menu is a lot to take in - but we were so impressed by how thoughtfully they were composed and presented. Everyone at our table was smiling and laughing at the fun concoctions. We thought that we may have ended up in a fancy bar with food as an afterthought, but our appetizers and entrees were all solid! The tempura eggplant with hummus was killer but the real winner was the octopus that we ordered to share. It was fantastic. Our table had the calamari sandwich, the premium burger and two Buddha bowls and everyone in our party finished in the clean plate club. If you don't get to Jardin Secreto at least one time, you're missing out. read more

While in Madrid I wanted to find a cute place to snack and get do some writing. I stumbled upon this place on the website like a local for Madrid. You have to enter through a store front and go up three flights of escalators (or take the elevator up) to reach the garden. It definitely does feel hidden and secretive. Once I got to the top I was VERY impressed by the decor. The space was so beautiful and covered in green plants and flowers (including some gorgeous) orchids right next to my table.) I ordered the "pan rústico y jamón" and a glass of the tinto se verano. The service was great and I almost instantly got my food and drink. The drink came with a small tapa which was small slices of toasted cinnamon bread and an olive tapenade. The ham and bread was WAY to much for one person so make sure to keep that in mind if your are coming alone. The ham was not ibérico so was not my favorite but the bread was covered in fresh tomatoes and olive oil and tastes amazing. The tinto de verano was by far my favorite I had while in Madrid. It is a huge cup for only 6 euros! Once the bill came I noticed that the ham was about 20 euros. That felt a little steep compared to other places in Madrid. I would just keep that in mind when visiting but it's worth it to come visit just for the atmosphere and a little get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. read more

This was one of my favorite places I ate in in Madrid! It really is a secret and I never would have found it if I hadn't read about it on TripAdvisor. It's located inside the store Salvador Bachiller, on the top floors. There's a gastrobar that is only open for dinner and a rooftop restaurant that's open for both lunch and dinner. The shop itself is beautiful, and it's almost impossible to not buy something from there. They sell the tableware that they use in the restaurant and I was so enchanted by it I bought a lovely, little mug from them. It's very unique stuff and most of it is made by the brand Salvador Bachiller. We went for lunch after spending the morning shopping in the area. It's simply a gorgeous, magical restaurant, there is nothing more to say. You really feel like you're eating in a garden and there's no way to tell that you're in the middle of a big, bustling Madrid street. They had what I assume was their holiday decorations up; golden stars and golden leaves attached to the trees. All the waiters all wear these cute, entirely red outfits, complete with little hats. They even wear matching shades of red lipstick. It's quite a sight and I wish I had gotten a picture. The lunch menu is small and limited, but the food is mouthwatering. I ordered their Daily Vegetable Soup, that day it was Carrot and Orange, and a glass of Sangria. They bring out a bowl of yummy veggie chips while you wait for the food to be prepared. All the food was delicious. I'm still dreaming about that soup! When they brought out my sangria my mouth fell open. It was the biggest glass of sangria I had ever seen, as big as my head. It was very fruity and sweet and there were fresh raspberries and slices of orange in it. Make sure to get a glass! The food was presented so beautifully! All the dishes matched and even my soup matched the bowl I ate it in. Perfection! They served the soup in a tall tea pot! It was brilliant and I only wish my own tableware could be so wonderful. Very cute place. It was fun having to go through a luggage store to get there and they were nice enough to seat me without a reservation. Menu is a big basic, I think this is a place you come for the scenery and drinks. Service was very, very slow. Waiter brought me the wrong starter after 30 minutes but did correct it quickly. After sitting there for an hour they realized they forgot my shrimp burger entree. When it came out it had the wrong side and was a fried patty to dense to cut. I had to vigoursly waive down a server to pay the check. My Spanish is not great but I think they were ashamed of the crap experience. They did charge me though despite that I could not eat my dinner. read more

Perhaps because we are Americans, but be prepared for very little tolerance for any questions. I felt like we were being scolded to order properly and from the correct menu. Also, the menu is very confusing and isn't clear what's available at what times. And when the server takes your order, be ready to give your drink order first and if you want to split a sandwich, be prepared for a rude comment about the sandwiches being for 1 person. This was not an enjoyable experience. My wife and I chose this location based on the scenery and it was truly lovely. That was fortunate because we had a long wait while at this restaurant. The service was awful. After receiving our drinks our order was lost or forgotten. We waited nearly 30 minutes and had to ask about our order. It took another 15 to get our food. Following our meal, we asked for the check and had to wait another 20 minutes for that. The waitress engaged in conversation with another employee and began to clean tables all while ignoring our request. When we asked again, the waitress gave us a dirty look and printed it quickly. Although the food was good, our trip to this secret garden was terrible and ate up a large block of our day that could have been better spent sightseeing. read more
