You have that ah ha moment and realize you are back in Paris when you are walking in the Tuileries... It is magical and you can almost believe you are a local watching the kids, parents, lovers doing their things. Great location I might even suggest a croissant and coffee and watch the world go by.
very relaxing and chill to hang out around, with all the chairs facing the fountain/ lake and seeing the duckies hahah nice park/ garden nearby the museums
Not really a fan of agriculture but this area engulfs the far end of the Louvre in Paris and was manicured nicely with colorful flowers. There is strong French history regarding this field which was discussed in depth during our personal tour. Very tranquil setting with lots of people sitting around the flowers under the pink magnolia trees and massive fountains in ponds. This was a free walk around area which takes around 45 minutes to experience everything without rushing.
Beautiful space with an excellent Christmas Market. There are too many pigeons for my preference, but other than that, great place to spend the day.
The gardens were an add on to my skip the line louvre ticket. Wasn't too impressed. Thought I would see more beautiful flowers. It was a long walkway lined with trees back to the street where we could catch an Uber.
Such a great park to enjoy outdoor, high quality art at its finest. So convenient from the 1st Arrondissement, I recommend coming here to walk off your heavy meal and pretend that you are Parisian for just a brief moment. Just slow down and sit on a bench and be still for a millisecond and sip on your hot chocolate or chomp on your Buerre y Jamon baguette and just listen to the people speaking Parisian style French and realize that there's so much more than the Chicago accent that you hear daily. Finally, if you must, cross the street and go straight to Angelina Paris for some great desserts and more hot chocolate. It's also next to the Louvre and just a 10 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe.
The Tuileries Garden is a sprawling tree-lined park that connects the Louvre with the Place de la Concorde. We came here just as summer was turning to autumn & were able to view the Olympic Cauldron in its temporary home. In the daytime, it was a a spectacular air balloon anchored in the garden; starting at sunset, it became a floating golden glow in the Paris night sky. Also worth seeing at this spectacular garden are the towering ferris wheel, merry-go-round, & numerous sculptures. The wide pathways with colorful flora at its side beg to be strolled, preferably with your favorite person.
This garden is a beautiful place to walk or sit and people watch. It is next to the Louvre and across from the Rue de Rivolli. We stopped in Angelina for a hot chocolate and cookie then walk to the garden to sit and enjoy it. Lots of seating is available. You can find a shady or sunny spot. Some of the trees and flowers were in bloom. It was a nice relaxing place to sit and enjoy our hot chocolate.
I was staying quite near here and enjoyed every second of my time in these beautiful gardens. Really not much to say other than: don't skip! Bring a book or a picnic and get ready to take in all the sights. Sit at the center fountain and enjoy views of the Eiffel, Louvre, and more. You'll find beautifully manicured lawns, interesting sculptures, gorgeous fountains, and plenty of French history abounding. There were very cute kiddos playing boat games near the fountain, and even though it can be quite touristy, it still feels quintessentially Parisian never the less. Enjoy!
What a nice garden! The grounds are huge. It connects the Musee de l'Orangerie and the Louvre. After we saw the line for Musee de l'Orangerie was way too long, we decided to ditch those plans and stroll through the garden instead. It was around 11 am on a Wednesday and there were so many people sitting by the fountains. Made me wonder if they had work or not, or if French people just know how to enjoy life. There was also some kind of summer carnival going on at the time (mid-August) complete with food vendors, and some pretty impressive temporary amusement park rides. The grounds are well kept and the park is clean. I could definitely see me having some picnics here if I was a local. Overall, great spot for a break from city life and enjoy some fresh air.
Perfect for a morning stroll with a cup of coffee, and picture-perfect angles every direction you turn. Definitely worth a visit.
A magnificent garden that is well maintained and an excellent choice for relaxing or a picnic. I not confident that I can add any more superlatives to an already famous garden but I may be able to add some tips. TIP 1: If you're visiting from the US, try not to eat and drink while walking, grab your items and go to a park. Sit down, relax, and enjoy. TIP 2: If you see a bench that is half occupied, say hello and ask if you can share the bench in most cases, you'll be welcomed. TIP 3: There are public toilets but try to avoid them. TIP 4: There a a lot of people who are exercising be cognizant of them and give them their space In summary, this park is immense and there are many beautiful parts, take your time and spend a couple of hours of walking, sitting, walking some more, sitting, and enjoy.

This is the way to live! Fresh air, plenty of exercise and an abundance of art. I'm a huge fan of classical sculpture and this was a magical part of my trip to Paris. Most of the sculptures are either Biblical or Greco-Roman themed. There's seating around a giant fountain, a playground for little ones and a few places to buy food. read more

Quality/Quantity - A good size park with limited to no shade. But beautifully manicured. Looks like they have many events here; none on our visit. Ambiance - See my few pictures and all the many other pictures on Yelp. 3 restaurants, a book shop, etc. Park hours: From 7am to 11pm in June, July, and August. From the last Sunday in September to the last Sunday in March: 7.30am to 7.30pm. From the last Sunday in March to the last Saturday in September: 7am to 9pm. Service - Self service. Price - Free. Unlike the gated Jardin du Luxembourg, it would be hard to miss Jardin des Tuileries for a first-time visitor to Paris because it's smack dab in the middle between two iconic destinations, the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. The question is whether you'd want to come back as a more seasoned Francophile tourist. Despite being constantly overcrowded, the answer is definitely yes. This has been the definitive green space that has epitomized classic garden architecture since the 16th century. The fountains, geometric layout, the Musee de l'Orangerie, and ornate statues by the likes of Rodin and Maillol give it the traditional French style we come to expect in Paris. It's also an unquestionable hub for social activity with playgrounds and sailboats on the Grand Bassin. Unfortunately, Jamie W and I weren't here during one of the seasonal events like the summer Fête des Tuileries when a carnival midway is set up, or Paris Fashion Week when runways are built and celebrities flock in frocks, or the Christmas market. The vibe is lazy Sunday afternoon regardless of the day of the week! You can see the Louvre, the Museum D'Orsay, and the Eiffel Tower from the center fountain at Jardin des Tuileries! Great place to picnic, read a book, stroll, or take a nap! Or chow down a lunch before heading back to work or study! Love seeing a whole lots of folks enjoying the urban outdoors! Love a Sunday afternoon on a Tuesday or Wednesday too... Would donit again! Maybe tomorrow! Woohoo! read more
The main drag? That's how it appears on the map. A giant open space consisting of landscaped beds, tree-lined paths, playgrounds, benches, etc. It seems to go on forever. Unfortunately, I was there in November which is not conducive to observing flowers blooming and shrubs shrubing! I'm sure its beautiful in the spring and summer and a great place to get out and about. Right now as the pandemic rages, it would be the perfect place to socially distance and get away from the nearby crowded streets and sidewalks. read more

It was a Spring Day in France as I discovered the 1st Arrondissement in Paris. Jardin des Tuileries is where I admired all the beauty around me. However, it wasn't a sophisticated Parisian lady per se, instead it was three men... wait... Hey now, I don't fly that way lol. Welcome to my story of the Shepherd, the Poet, and the Blacksmith. Sounds so Ménage à Trois haha, but really, it's a striking work of art located on a raised terrace called the Terrasse du Bord de l'Eau near the River Seine. I think what drew me to this piece was how unusual and almost misplaced it seemed to be. I had to take a closer look... As I approach the Shepherd, the Poet, and the Blacksmith, I had to remind myself I'm not in Lord of the Rings lol. Definitely one of the more unusual pieces. I notice a placard and immediately recognize... Paul Landowski! Les Fils de Cain is the piece and dates to circa 1903. Also the era of Aguste Rodin who was still in his prime and working just across of the River Seine. If you're still not sure who Paul Landowski is... I bet you do! CHRIST THE REDEEMER. Need I say more? Yes, Paul Lendowski, son of a Polish immigrant, is best known for the towering statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The iconic Jesus statue that blesses the beautiful city everyday. Les Fils de Cain aka the Shepherd, the Poet, and the Blacksmith was created nearly 30 years before Christ the Redeemer. Imagine that! And here I stand before it! This bronze group depicts Jabal, the Shepherd; Jubal, the Poet; and Tubal Cain, the Blacksmith. An inscription in French reads: "Is this not all mankind? The man of the fields, the poet, the city worker." It is said that Paul Landowski was inspired by three Tunisian men on a random walk to nowhere, but somewhere. Serendipity? Just like how I was inspired by Paul Landowski - 117 years after Les Fils de Cain. Paul Landowski, born in Paris to a Polish immigrant, he also died in Paris, his home. You will never be forgotten... If in Paris take a stroll around Jardin des Tuileries. You'd be surprised at what Serendipity has waiting for you.. And now you know my story. Je t'aime! I love you... read more

Ç'est un bel endroit! Plenty of places to sit and people watch, ice cream stands for refreshment, and spouts to refill our water bottles. There was a festival in town with rides that ironically had signs all over asking people to not scream due to it being a residential area. While in Paris we frequented quite a few times as it's very close to the Louvre, and various shops aimed at tourists. read more
Large beautiful garden space along the Seine. Located between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde, this now public space was created by Catherine de' Medici as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564. I wonder how it's changed in 450 years. It still offers a grand view from the Louvre onto the Champs d'Elyse. It's beautiful in the summer to stroll through here. All the trees in full leaf, the flowerbeds full of color. Numerous sculptures to take in. Grab some cheese and wine, and relax, enjoy Paris properly. In November and December the north side hosts the Christmas Market. A winter carnival especially for children. The garden is accessible by three metros- Palais Royal-Musée, Tuileries, and Concorde. read more
So you just visited the Louvre, why not stop here. Jardin des Tuileries is located right beside the Louvre.The Garden is huge. It has lots of beautiful statues and a giant fountain in the middle. Surrounding the fountain are lots of lounging chairs. It is a great place to just sit and relax. The garden is somewhat dusty due to the sand. It does take about 10 to 15 mins to walk from one end to the other. This is a definitely must see garden read more
We decided to just go wander aimlessly for a few hours in Paris one afternoon last week and ended up logging in a little more than 5 miles before tapping out! lol During this time, we just happened to run into Jardin des Tuileries. What a beautifully landscaped and manicured park and garden area! It was a nice just to take a deep breath, stroll around, and just take things in! There are a couple (at least) large round fountain areas just surrounded with lawn chairs for one to just sit back and relax and take in all the beauty that surrounds you! You also have a bunch of sculptures adorning the area and some of them are just fantastic, especially the mythical ones! Plus the people watching is fantastic here as well! I only wish we had more time to spend here, but with such limited time in Paris, we hung out for about 45 minutes and continued to move on! If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend checking it out! 4 stars. read more
Woke up very early one morning and my hubby and I snuck out early to visit these historical gardens in Paris. We virtually had the place to ourselves so we wandered around and took in all the beauty. The gardens acquired their name from the tile factories which previously stood here. The Louvre is at one end of the gardens and Place' De La Concorde is on the other end. The gardens are simply breathtaking and so many Rodin sculptures are standing throughout the park. Stunning views everywhere you look. We actually ended up coming here twice. The second time we dined at one of the patio restaurants before touring the Lourve museum. The park is so expansive and you may find yourself deciding to pull up a green chair near the water and just sit and people watch or enjoy a nice bottle of wine and a baguette. Either way, no disappointment here! read more
If you spend any amount of time in Paris, you will likely be in a position to walk through these gardens at some point. They are centrally located basically between the Louvre and the major museums like the Musee de l'Orangerie. When you do visit, plan to spend some time. There are lovely green chairs lining the fountain, and people are invited to sit and enjoy the scenery. If you had a nice sunny day, it would be a great place to read a book or enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee and conversation with someone. In addition, the central fountain is surrounded by amazing sculptures so take the time to walk around at least once to see them all. If you are there around Christmas as we were, you can also take a stroll through the big open-air Christmas market next to the garden, which gives you even more reason to visit! read more

This place is huge! And great to cut through to go to the Louvre or even over to Musee de Orsay. Our best use and life hack for here was due to its proximity to our hotel across the street, Hotel Regina. We were here on New Year's Eve and we didn't want to brave the whole long walk all the way to the Arc de Triomphe, the epicenter of Parisian NYE celebrations. What you have from here though--since they do turn off the Ferris wheel lights between here and the Arc--is a view to the Arc, even if distant. With only a couple hundred people and the briefest Iof walks from Hotel Regina, we participated in NYE and yet were in bed not long into the new year--early flight and all. read more
I wish I had more time to spend here. After a quick breakfast, I walked here for about 10 minutes. The plantings are really nice. There were several people jogging in the park and it was good fun to see Paris waking up. Even the traffic was light at the time. This is one of the two most famous gardens in Paris along with the Luxembourg. read more

Great location, really good service. Very friendly, and the perfect respite while walking around son a super hot day. The food is above average, certainly not the best you will find, but good for an icecream, or light crepe read more

Great park in Paris. We attended a winter Christmas Event that was so much fun. Lots of food, drinks and fun times. The games were cool too. The amusement rides were nuts. I'll pass as I'm getting to old. read more

This place is gorgeous! Even though there aren't green leafy trees because of the season, it's still amazing to walk around and enjoy the scenery and marvel at all the buildings around the park. You can enjoy seeing family and tourists gathered and just enjoying the same space as you and make you just want to enjoy the moment even longer. It's a nice area to go for a run with the ground mostly heavy sand and not very rocky. read more

The Location: Metro exit either Concord, Tuileries or Musee du Louvre. It is a huge park/garden. There are a few ponds in the park with seating area. Lots of green. Perfect for family outing, kids will love to playing around in the park. There are a few museums near the park. Definitely can spend many hours in this area. Many great spots for photo opportunity! There are a few food vendors in the park. Lovely place to hang out. read more
This is a great park with a lot of beautiful things to see. This park is actually located really close to the Louvre and is within walking distance to a lot of key places within Paris. There is often a gorgeous Ferris wheel and a lot of cool carnival things to see on the side of this particular. The parks in Paris are often a nice point of relaxation and this particular park is no different. I would recommend this park for a significant amount of relaxation post Louvre exploration. Jardin des Tuileries was our first stop in Paris. We just took the subway and got off on the wrong station for the Lourve but turned up to be a very welcomed mistake. This park is very pretty, full of flowers, statues and a great huge fountain where you can just pull up chairs to it and bask in the sun. And the Lourve is actually at the end of it, so we were not totally wrong. I had a great time in this park. Took lots of pictures, fed the birds and basked in the sun. read more
These beautiful gardens are where I end up starting just about every trip to Paris. The Louvre at one end, the Obelisk at the other. Chairs everywhere for you to relax and take in all of the spectacular scenery. Just stunning. Statues all around these finely maintained gardens including Rodin's Kiss and other works near L'Orangerie. I've only recently noticed that goats appear to be on the payroll of the Paris parks and rec. If you look around the areas surrounding the central fountain you may just see them. If you wander towards the river and the Musee Orsay you will see many of the bridges with the love locks on them. Don't fall for the ubiquitous Romanian gypsy ring scam. That surely won't be your precious that they somehow have found. The tourism office is nearby, where you can acquire the Museum Pass. read more
After walking around the Louvre, my friends and I passed through this lovely garden on the way to the Champs Elysees. It's an open, expansive space, punctuated by fountains, statues, a mini arc, and ending at the Place de la Concorde. It's very pleasant to walk through, but even more pleasant to take a breather in, preferably in one of the many chairs by the giant octagonal fountain. Seeing some cute ducklings motoring around the fountain was a highlight. This is a very French garden, all careful and beautiful geometry that brings a sense of balance to our cluttered city brains. STEPH JUDGEMENT: My second favorite outdoor public space in Paris (first is Jardin du Luxembourg). read more
This is by far my favorite spot in Paris. The number of statues here interspersed among the formal gardens slightly reminds me of Villa Borghese Park in Rome, only things are much more natural and wilder in Rome. Look closer among the statues and you'll find masterpieces by the likes of Rodin. I could bring a stack of reading material, bottles of cold water, a thermos of hot tea and easily spend my days sitting on one of the lounge chairs by the Great Basin and just soak in the air and atmosphere of Paris and watch time go by, no problem. Even though thousands of tourists pass through here every day, I don't know why but an air of tranquility and refined calm somehow sticks here. Everyone on Earth is here, tourists from all corners, all types and everyone is just sitting down together and being chill. It's too bad we somehow can't replicate this is the wider world. Very, very few cultures nowadays understand true beauty and aesthetics especially in design and how that has an effect on the human psyche. The French, Italians, Japanese, Scandinavians and Indians do to name a few. I find most cultures don't understand the toll the ugliness of plastic, disposability and industrialization takes on people. Le Jardin des Tuileries proves how the French do it and how to do it right. read more
Beautiful garden along the Seine, close to the Louvre. Open late hours (07:30 to 19:30 Oct-Mar, 07:00 to 21:00 Apr-May & Sep, 07:00 to 23:00 June-Aug) so that you can be here before you make your museum stops and then return in the evening after a late dinner. How about a picnic? Lots of grass, sculptures and a fab view of Paris. On a good day, you can see the Eiffel Tower. Even better, at night watch the light show on the hour! read more
