This is not an LGBTQ+ safe space. They do good dental work thus the 1 star I gave. Their front desk person was derogatory and honestly outright cruel about pronouns for my trans spouse. Dr. Lee said "she didn't mean it that way" but there is no other way to mean what she said (making fun of their gender neutral pronouns, insinuating they can't exist like that, making faces at me about it during conversation) - he will defend his employees mistreatment of patients with no qualms. Excellent experience as a new patient in for a teeth cleaning and dental xrays. It wasn't a rush, rush, rush stop watch experience with lots of prying questions to make you feel guilty like I get at so many previous dentists. This was not a rushed experience. It was a quality experience where things were done efficiently but thoroughly. First thing was no elevator music during the dental cleaning. Instead a movie is playing. Star Wars during my visit. Second, they give you sun glasses to put on for the dental cleaning, so the overhead lights don't blind you. Cool. Third. The teeth xray equipment is high tech and quick. The staff use a handheld device that immediately transferred the image to a computer screen. Gone are the days of stiff cardboard pieces in your mouth, a heavy lead apron and a technician running out of the room to throw the switch multiple times. Lastly, the staff explain what issues they find in an understandable manner, not tech jargon. I left feeling that they take pride in their work and care about you as a patient. I was visiting Juneau and was sure I needed a root canal (so much pain!) I was able to make an appointment with Dr. Lee easily, and the receptionist called back even sooner to bring me in earlier due to a cancellation. Dr. Lee determined that I did NOT need a root canal, and was able to fix the problem with some simple tooth shaving of a recent crown. He wasn't rushed even though the office was packed, found the most simple and cost effective solution, and the welcome packet for new patients comes with gum and restaurant coupons. Is it weird to relocate to a new city because of a dental office? Top notch staff all around. read more

Kristi, dental assistant, was excellent and did everything to make the cleaning as pleasant as possible. Jared was excellent and very personable. He even recognized my Red Sox hat I wore into the office. One of my teeth was a bit in the high end...he leveled it off with great precision - it make a big difference. After Dr. Cook retired (who we loved), the next bath of dentists they had in the office were marginal at best. Now that Dr. Lee took over their practice....it has made my wife (Amy) and I very happy to have our old/new dental service back again....like the old days, with a modern young fellow to grow old with:). I was a patient of Dr. Cook for many, many years. I hung in there during the Harborview ownership although I was not thrilled with the revolving door of dentists. When Dr. Lee purchased the practice I had high hopes. Initially I was happy with the service I received, but unfortunately I referred my now husband (who needs extensive dental work) to the practice. My husband had a tooth extracted during a scheduled appointment where he also had a root canal. A week after the procedures he was in quite a bit of pain and it appeared that a bone fragment had to be removed from the socket where the tooth was. Dr. Lee's office was able to fit him in for that procedure one day in advance of his follow up appointment. Two weeks later my husband was still in pain and had bone coming out on the inside of his jaw. I telephoned Dr. Lee's office on two occasions on the same day inquiring about getting my husband seen potentially on a Friday. I was told that there was no way the dentist would see him when the office is closed. I explained the situation, but to no avail. I was able to get my husband in to see one of the oral surgeons in town and the situation was resolved. I called Dr. Lee's office and requested a release of our records as we will be finding a new dentist. We found that Dr. Lee is not available to his patients on Fridays or weekends as advertised and at no time was I asked what could be improved to either keep us as patients or if I wanted to even leave a message for the dentist. read more
