Never had a complaint! Great doctors and nurses. It doesn't take long to get an appointment.

I've been seeing valley medical for over 20 years and have been requesting access to a specific birth control. Valley medical staff told me I needed to be 40 or married. When I turned 40 valley medical would no longer perform the procedure for me. It was a frustrating heart break to have waited on them when others would have been happy to do it. It felt like an outdated experience where some man I don't even know decided I didn't get access to the contraceptive that was better for me. Now that I got what I needed from someone else I'm really grateful to have gotten the access and support elsewhere. read more

I called and asked if they were taking new patients, they said yes. I then went in person and filled out a new patient form, provided DETAILED information and signed all documents for them to get my records. I was completely honest and forthcoming about my health issues. I was told a "provider would look at my information and then decide if they would accept me as a patient" (THAT'S new, I thought they worked to help not hinder) and that I would be contacted with an answer. A month or so went by with no word whatsoever. I just went in, in person again to find out what was happening and was told that I had been DENIED because I had a primary care provider. I told them that was untrue, why else would I seek a provider if I had one already? I was then told "We have limited space for new patients and we only accept patients new to town or don't have a provider" I repeated that I did not have a provider and that information would have been nice to know when I first came in to save time" I asked to speak to the provider who denied me who, conveniently, wasn't there. Absolutely ridiculous! Because I had seen someone else in this town I was denied??? This is the most disgustingly, obviously, biased place I have ever been to in my life. I do NOT recommend this clinic, they clearly have prejudiced views and cherry pick who they will care for. So much for CARE, anything but themselves and their pockets. Totally egregious practices for people who claim a Hippocratic oath to provide care for others. read more

Horrible place. It's a crapshoot as to what care you will get. I was admitted into the hospital and called the office for help but the receptionist tells me they will get to me when they get to me. Dr. Hernandez couldn't even tell when my fiancé's water broke. When my fiancé had her C-section Dr. Hernandez lost the tip of the suction tool inside of my fiancé's body!!! Our son was misdiagnosed and the list goes on. read more

Every time I go to valley medical I get excellent customer service. My doctor, Matt Jones, listens to me, helps me figure out what is wrong and always has great solutions. I believe that customer service is very important and is not just for restaurants or stores. I am always impressed with Valley Medicals staff and the way they do business. I've been going to Valley Medical since they were in the Valley, in the 80's. Juneau is fortunate to have a place where there are caring doctors and nurses that know what they're doing and always do what's best for their patients. I've been through a few doctors there, not because I changed doctors but because some retired some moved out of town, I can say I've only had one that I didn't really like, they didn't stay long, I think I'm not alone in my feeling on that particular doctor. I've been to many Medical Care facilities in Alaska and this one is by far the best I've ever been, such friendly staff, Professional Care Giver "Tina Pleasants" FPN / LPN is the most of the word "Pro" she'd tested me for everything imaginable plus. AND, It's great to know how good my health is, and isn't, true I'd given a lot of my blood, but it's worth every minute to know weather or not what could be wrong, and what is definitely right. I know we've much more to take care of, I at least know I've a Care Giver that truly "Cares About My Health ". 5 Star + read more

I walked in and asked to make an appt with a doctor a coworker had recommended. They REFUSED to make an appointment unless they had ALL of my medical records for the last two years. WTH? I've been an RN for 40 years and I've NEVER seen a place that acts like this. Was told they could not make the appointment until they received them. I have no chronic/serious probs and rarely see a doc. Explained I have one physical and a set of labs in the last 2 years. Then got an attitude of this doctor has a really busy practice and might not take a new patient. (WTH?? Sure didn't say that upfront) Acute problem, not asking for a yearly...but nope. Not sure what the game is. Guess Dr. Dunn is too busy and they want you forced with a NP for profit reasons....nah, do you really need this kind of nonsense???. read more

Used to be a reliable source of care but due to what seems to be a staff issue things are declining. Went in their for a simple vaccination. Waited a half an hour in the lobby. Waited 10 minutes in the exam room just to find out that the vaccinations are missing. Missing drugs... Hmm... read more
