He's got great energy and makes every lesson productive and fun. The facility is in a quiet part of Rancho Santa Fe (just past the Bridges) and has access to miles of riding trails. The people at the club have been great to work with and the other riders and family members are all so supportive! You get a real sense of community and fun and I always leave there with a big smile on my face. His horses are top notch, former show jumping horses and the experience in spending more time with these beautiful creatures has been sublime. I'm hooked.

When I found Charlotte at Salty Horse Stables, I was ecstatic to get one-on-one lessons that really taught me how to ride at a safe pace. She takes the time to get to know every student and their needs, and never pushes anyone to do something that makes them uncomfortable. A year in, I started doing small jumps in the arena - something I never expected I could do (or even knew that I wanted to do!), and I'm so grateful for Charlottes professionalism along the way. She is incredibly encouraging even on my worst days and cheers me on when I have my great days. I've seen her with children too, offering trails rides to build their confidence (which is how I started as well) and I love how she makes horseback riding fun. The shelter of stray cats that Gayle maintains and transitions feral cats into tamed cats that "watch" the stable is almost fairytale like. You can witness at least 1 cat in the stable with a horse snuggling, hissing, or grooming. Being at the farm reminds me of the movie "water for Elephants" If this is the business you're looking for- I highly suggest the Farms @ Del Mar

Owners don't seem to be of the caliber the previous owners were. Sorry to say they do not ever do the right thing. There are lots of great barns in SD but right now this isn't one of them.
