I first went to see Kelly because I had severe lower back pain that was preventing me from walking and doing normal physical activities. Walking, sleeping, sitting, and sometimes even just breathing would hurt. My friend who recommended her said the deep tissue massage was torture but at that point I was willing to try anything to make it better. My first massage with Kelly was extremely painful, however, I went in not being able to walk properly and came out being able to walk normally. Even then, I was reluctant to go back when my lower back started hurting again because even though the massage worked it was very painful. I went to try other less painful massages, but nothing else worked. I had to go back to her. Kelly has really helped me with my lower back issues and now I only have flare ups once in a while. Since then I have been going to Kelly whenever I have any bodily aches and pains. I was injured at the end of last year in a car accident and Kelly has also helped me make a recovery from a bad case of whiplash and an injured wrist. She really cares about her clients and goes the extra mile to show me how to stretch properly to prevent future injuries. Do yourself a favor and give Kelly a try if you have lingering injuries or pains. The deep tissue massage hurts but it will make you feel better (if not after the first session, definitely after a couple sessions). read more

I was visiting my boyfriend back in early October and we were both in need of a good massage. I looked at reviews on Yelp and Google since I'm not from the area and this place seemed to be the place to go for a deep tissue massage. I called and booked an appointment for a couples massage without any problems. The quality of the massage was great. They really do dig into the areas that need a little more TLC - for me, it's my shoulders. When the masseuse dug her knees into my lower back, it was a bit much and she eased up after I asked her to. The massage was great but the cons are what dropped their stars for me: 1. During the massage, my boyfriend's masseuse kept commenting on his body figure. One or two comments didn't bother him, but she kept going to the point that I was personally offended. 2. On their website it states, "Special offer for first time customers. $59 for One hour Deep Tissue Massage"(copied and pasted right from their website). When I mentioned it to them, the lady stated that it was an offer that had recently expired and in my head, I'm wondering why it's still up. Normally, companies honor the deals that are accidentally left on the website, but the lady refused and made us both pay full price. I'm writing this review nearly 2 months later... and the offer is still posted on their website. PLEASE BE AWARE. 3. I decided I didn't want to fight too hard on the above mentioned since the massage was that great, so I handed the lady my cash. I already calculated what the tip would have been, but she took it upon herself to take the tip out along with what we paid for the massage and gave us back what change she deemed appropriate. It was less than what I was going to give, but I've never seen anything like that before. I walked right out. Final thoughts? Great massage, horrible customer service. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because I was charged $60 per person for the massage rather than the advertised $59, and it just seemed weird to overcharge by two dollars, but it's not really about the money it just leaves an odd impression. Aside from that, I usually like deep tissue massage and I've been to places like Spa World before where they use the same style and pressure, so it was nothing new. I'd say if you like medium or light pressure definitely let them know first because it was a DEEP tissue massage. For me, that was very helpful, since I have really stubborn tension in my muscles that doesn't go away unless I get a massage every other day. But I'd say if you're new to massages let them know and ask for light pressure, not medium. At first, we were asked to go into the room and wait there, and the instructions were a little abrupt but not rude. Just not the speech style I'm used to, I guess. But there were no bad intentions behind it, I could see that. So just be prepared for that I guess? But that's something I tend to run into when I go to asian massage or nail places, and it's not a rudeness thing, just very concise instructions. But my neck and back were a bit sore afterwards for maybe half a day (which often happens with deep tissue for me) and now I feel really loose and flexible, which is usually the goal of my massages so I'm calling it a win read more

Kelly is magic! I was back in town and could not get comfortable sleeping because of the knots in my back. I turned to Yelp and again I was not disappointed. She made sure that I was not uncomfortable about the pressure she applied. I was never. I hadn't had the hot stones before...totally worth it! She was very good at what she does. I usually go to another massage therapist in Herndon, and she was able to get spots that he doesn't. Her ability to crack your neck and other areas that need cracking was amazing. I have been thinking about going to a chiropractor, but honestly, I would rather go to her. She does a very good job and as somebody who has multiple chronic pain conditions, I would highly recommend her. I can actually move and feel things that I haven't been able to feel or move in years. This hidden gem is by far the best professional massage spa I have ever been too. I base this on the actual massages (time on tome/cost/technique/effectiveness not fluff. I carry a great deal on tension and stress in my back, should and neck. I also have slight lower back discomfort and extremely tight hamstrings from cycling. Kelly is simply the best masseuse! She provides firm/deep massage that are effective, targeted to the problem areas, she provides amazing back walks, knee and fore arm applied massages over large muscle groups. She provides superb sketches of the all the major muscle groups to include neck & back twists. I can not say enough about the experience. Hot stones and heated neck pads..... and you get all of the allotted minutes. No lazy massaging or fluff. Very clean and quiet with a smoothing atmosphere too boot! Oh and the prices are great. I drive an hour each way for this massage at least monthly... and would probably drive 2hours without any hesitation. read more

My fiance and I received a couples deep tissue massage. OUCH! It was hard to relax because the massage was super deep and painful at several points during the session. I had two large bruises on my legs. I wouldn't rule this place out because some people like a lot of pressure for their massage, but it was just too much for us! Also, the massage therapist answered the phone during the session and ran back and forth between the reception table and the massage room..it was a distracting. This brought the rating down from four stars to three stars. Nonetheless, the massage therapists were very personable and the appointment was very easy to schedule. It's definitely a competitive price for a 60-minute massage. I recommend this place for people who likes very deep tissue massage who isn't phased by phones ringing/distractions during the massage session. read more

If I could give this 0 star I would :( We made an appointment for 2 at 10:30 - 11:30 and 1 for 11:30-12:30 because the place is small and we could not do all 3 at the same time. At 10:08 we got a call asking us to come early which we could not. We got a bit lost and was 10' late and showed up exactly at 10:40. Mind you we got a call at 10:30 getting actually yelled at over the phone saying that she is very busy and whether we're gonna show up or not and then we got another call at 10:40. We hurried up the stairs and walked in and we was greeted by an angry woman whom I think is the owner. We literally got yelled at again!! She kept saying that she has an appointment at 11:30 but that is one of our appointments too and we could only do 45' massage as opposed to the 60' session we would have paid for. Honestly we're pretty reasonable people but I don't appreciate getting yelled at at our spa appointment. Isn't it supposed to be serene and relaxing??? To start off, I know the sign looks sketchy on the outside because it just has neon lights indicating "MASSAGE", but this is no place that you should call for a 'happy ending'. So those of you who are looking on yelp for a 'massage parlor' this isn't one of those. It's a very clean and safe environment, and I have been dealing with Kelly (the owner) since before she opened up her new place when she was employed elsewhere. I still take the 30-min drive to come here because Kelly is that great. She looks small and petite, but she has one of the strongest fingers I have ever encountered, and I absolutely love deep tissue massages. I've also gotten a massage by the other therapist, Lily, who also is just as strong. So if Kelly isn't available, I wouldn't mind getting a massage by Lily as well. I've been to a couple different places for massages and there's only one other place that I would go to aside from this one, but that's located in Vegas. The curious me has always wondered time and again, and I did try another masseuse at a different place about two months ago, was more expensive, but nowhere near as great as the massages I get here. The prices are reasonable, and I always tip minimum $20 because I know they both work hard and deserve the money. I always tip well whenever I enjoy my massage - haven't had a disappointing massage here yet! read more

Update: I have started to realize that my lower back has been making cracking noises when I stretch it out which didn't happen before my massage. It's been going on for about 2 months. I remember the pressure of the deep tissue massage around my lower back was getting too hard and I asked if she could put less pressure. She replied back that it's supposed to be a deep tissue and supposed to be that pressure. I thought I could tolerate through the uncomfortableness, thinking it'll feel better the next day but I guess it wasn't good for my lower back and I should've listened to myself and told her again less pressure. I thought about coming back but not willing to risk my lower back making cracking noises every time I stretch. Now I need to go to a chiropractor to check it out. She did get the knots out of my shoulder area and upper back that day, but lower back has been acting weird since then. read more

Its been 3 years and I keep going back. That, by itself, says a lot. All of the masseuses are competent but I like a deep massage and I find Kelly the best for it. Be warned, when you ask Kelly for a deep tissue massage, it is going to hurt some. I don't think that I have ever had Kelly work on me that, at some point, I haven't wanted to tap out. Staying in Herndon from out of town for the weekend, I decided to find a massage place. Searching from Craiglist, I see that Jasmine Spa opened recently. After making an appointment, I arrived 5 minutes earlier. I was greeted by a lady with purple shirt. Discussed with her on the rate, I picked 60 miniutes. She let me in and told me to undress and the left the room. Waiting for over 5 minutes, I finally got her back. Talking to her, I learned that her name was Kelly. She probably just had lunch and I could smell strong garlic odor from her breath. The massage went Ok except that I was not comfortable with her hands occasionally touching my private parts quite often. In the middle of the massage, she kept taking phone calls a couple time. Eventually, I left only about 55 minutes after I arrived to the facility. read more

Stopped by for a couples massage after a long cross-country flight. The spa is about 15-20 minutes or so from Dulles airport, and parking was easy in the complex. I prefer massages with a lot of pressure and focus on the neck/shoulders, and the masseuse responded accordingly. We were able to apply a Yelp coupon to the session, which was already reasonably priced. We left the spa feeling much more relaxed and ready to enjoy our weekend! read more

I've been meaning to treat my mom to a massage bc she's constantly complaining about pain in her back and arms. I was searching for nearby places on yelp and came across jasmine spa and these glowing reviews so I booked with them right away. They had a special price for first-timers and it was very reasonable. I called to make an appointment on a Friday night at 7:30pm with Kelly and Lili. When we arrived, they greeted us and rushed us into the room to change.. no paperwork, no nothing. We were put into a room together which I didn't mind too much. I asked for a deep tissue massage for both of us.. that's what is started off as and then it turned into thai massage and then hot stone massage.. NOT what I asked for. Yes, it was painful and I felt like she got some of the knots out, but when a customer asks you to you stop... or lessen the pressure a bit you should listen. She just kept going saying that its good for me. She started using her elbows, and at one point she was on all fours on top of the table and using her knees (wtf is this normal?) At one point, her phone rang and she answered it in a whisper (really??!) She turned it into a thai massage and bent me in weird ways and when she pushed too far or held for too long and it was painful for me I would ask her to stop (I even yelled ow OW!!).... but she did not. Lili was more accommodating for my mom and listened to her when she said the pressure was too much or whatnot. After stretching me out with the thai massage.. I heard her walk over to a compartment and take out hot stones. She used them on me, and walked over and put them right back in..... unsanitary much? Also, the door was left ajar during part of the massage.. so anyone could have walked in. There's also a $3 convenience fee for paying by credit card. I don't think i'll be back. Best deep tissue I've ever had. TLDR: It's going to hurt but they will get every single knot out. I've gone here twice now and both times it was faaantastic. I do ~8 hours cross-training and play about as much tennis on a weekly basis, which isn't the best on the body. I've gone a handful of different massage places to try to rectify the damage from training/sports that's accumulated over time. This place is BY FAR the best. The first time I went was because my back and neck locked up. Lucky for me, it was a weekday morning and they availability right away, I got a lady named Cathy. She was able to fixed whatever issue I was having. I immediately told my wife to go as she was overdue for a massage as well (she gave it 5 stars). The second time I went with my wife for a couples massage, both of us had knots in our back area and both of us came out very happy. The things that made this place different: 1) It is a full 60 minute actual massage. A lot of the other places will spend the first 5-10 minutes just lightly kneading and just about the same towards the end of the message. Nope, both times I went they did not waste any time getting to it. 2) They will find problem areas you didn't even know about. The other places will ask you to fill out forms and circle areas you think you have issues. Both times I went, Cathy/Kelly found tight/tender areas that I wasn't even aware of and they worked them out. 3) They are not afraid to go in - but be sure to tell them if it's too much. Cathy/Kelly both applied just a little more pressure than I thought was needed but it worked. I have a pretty high pain threshold, couple that with my stubbornness (my wife can attest), I'd probably pass out from the pain before I'd tell them to ease up...and they asked me plenty of times. I asked for a deep tissue massage and that's exactly what I got, they probably got a few layers of deeper tissue that I thought was possible. Reading through the other reviews. I understand this type of massage/service isn't for everyone; but it's perfect for me. The amount of pressure can be adjusted. My wife did say the first time she went it was somewhat painful but the second time was perfect for her - me, I just know I need that type of massage to fix whatever issue I have. Additionally, Cathy and Kelly asked me throughout the massage if the pressure was good; I also heard my wife's masseuse do the same. As for Kelly answering the phone and going in and out to greet other customers, the woman is running the business by herself, she needs to do whatever she needs to do. Prior to starting the massage she told me that she might need to answer the phone and/or greet customers, I never felt bothered by it or felt that my massage was any less effective. read more

Just amazing! Best massage experience I've ever had. Here's why: Booking was simple and easy. Kelly answered my Yelp message immediately and I was able to make an appointment for the same day. I have been doing a 30 day yoga challenge and my muscles needed some attention ASAP. Diana was my therapist and she gave it 100% the entire time. I've had deep tissue massages before where its 10 minutes of intense effort and then 50 minutes of Swedish. This was 60 minutes of Diana expertly finding ALL the stress in my back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and working it out. Sure, there are moments of discomfort (it took some doing to get the knots in there, its going to take some doing to get them out) but she asked me several times if the pressure was ok and it never felt unnecessary. I prefer massages that are tailored to what my specific issues/injuries are and Diana used various techniques, including hot stone, deep tissue, and Thai massage to personalize my experience. Each one chosen for the right moment and the right muscle. There were extra touches everywhere that I appreciated given that their prices are so low. After the massage, Kelly brought me a hot cup of green jasmine tea. She and Diana were really so attentive and sweet. I will definitely be a regular client here in the future. read more

Ok, I have waited a bit to review them only because they are SO nice there. My husband had an appointment here and said it was the best massage he ever had. So I booked an appt a week later and was SO excited. Except..mine was awful. Kelly did my massage and she was so rough, I cried lol! And I rarely cry from pain. Anyway she told me I had so many knots that she had to get them out. I get that to a degree but I've never had a massage that I was in agony the entire time.
