I had been looking around for engagement rings for about 6 weeks. I knew what I wanted to get after feeling out what my girlfriend wanted, so I went to some reputable stores including stops in downtown LA to try and find it ready made or the right combination of setting and stone so it could be made in short time. Nobody seemed to have what I wanted. They could make something custom, sure, but at a very steep price. Then I found Sarkis. He had the setting I wanted, a good assortment of diamonds to choose from (I chose mined, not lab grown, though he has those too), was able to move heaven and earth to create a custom ring in a fraction of the time of other jewelers. All of this at a very reasonable price too. I loved the finished product and the gold stamp of approval was that my now fiancé absolutely loves it too. Sarkis is great to work with. My boyfriend and I came in four weeks ago looking to custom design my engagement and wedding rings. Our budget was small, but of course I had a particular design in mind which made it necessary to do a custom setting. I had heirloom stones (a oval sapphire and six small diamonds) and a vision. Jasmines was the first jeweler we went to of 6 (both in the LA area and the Bay Area) and we ended up choosing Sarkis for numerous reasons: Out of all the other jewelers, Sarkis did the best explaining how he would make my dream ring come to life (neither my boyfriend nor I had ever done any jewelry shopping before). I wanted the middle stone to sit low so it wouldn't catch on anything, but I also wanted my wedding band to fit snugly against the engagement ring without a curve to accommodate the oval stone. Sarkis managed to do both, and it looks perfect. Sarkis's price was competitive and we trusted our fellow yelpers that quality would not suffer. Other jewelers quoted as much as two times Sarkis's price, the closest price being $200 more (which for us is a big deal). On our first visit, we spent about an hour going over what we wanted and how Sarkis would do it. He was very genuine and explained everything in such a way as to educate us without making us feel ignorant. Two weeks later, we were back and ready to place our custom order. It took Sarkis only two weeks to make our dreams come true, this including sending the rings to be hand-engraved! Excellent service.
