It's uncomfortable to think about awful possibilities, but the wonderful GLG team got us through it. We feel confident and secure, knowing we are thoroughly prepared for the unexpected. A recent serious illness rocked our family, but one worry we didn't have was "what if" because we have a plan. We can't recommend the firm enough!

A difficult & abused feeling experience with this firm…read more I needed legal help to process the estate of my deceased mother. I ended up wasting six months and about $4K, paid in fees, with no outcome with Geller Law. I was first requested to have a mandatory paid initial consultation session to go over my legal help needed. I was introduced to Julie S. during this session. After describing my specific case & needs, she informed me that Geller Law can handle my case. What followed was months of emotional stress & redundant conversations with the staff of this firm that yielded no results. It became clear to me that they didn't know how to legally handle my case. Some staff members were argumentative & appeared trying to take advantage of this emotional situation for me. There were redundant conversations that I was later billed for. I concluded that this firm is not the choice that can handle my case professionally. I terminated my work with them. The new law firm I selected to handle my case turned out to be more knowledgeable for my case. And, more compassionate with me. The process was handled smoothly & professionally to completion.

First, Donald genuinely cares about his clients and focuses on getting the best results. Secondly, Donald is experienced. He's in that courtroom everyday and has a great predictability in how the judges think. Donald is very wise. While polite to his judicial adversaries, Donald does not cringe in tough situations. We're talking about a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel who survived the jungles of Vietnam. In a word, Donald wins. And his legal fees are reasonable. Donald doesn't not nickel and dime like many other lawyers. He'll give you a fee and all the courtroom appearances, phone calls, letters written, photo copies, etc. are under that umbrella. If you have a moment of pause on the legal fees, look at this way -what would be cost of judgements that don't go your way. Donald successfully thwarted opposing lawyer attempts for me to pay their client's legal fees. That alone save me tens of thousands of dollars. He won monetary judgements for me that I had not asked. What you're getting with Mr. Daugherty is client honesty, solid legal knowledge, and decades of daily courtroom experience. Donald cares about his clients and he wins. Donald is a rare, affordable super lawyer and you want this man representing you.

My case was a mess and involved my kids, custody, and a lot of stuff that really mattered to my family. Sharie and her team were always prepared and I felt like they actually had a plan, not just billing me for every little thing. My ex paid nearly double what I paid, but I won, and got a decision that was good for my kids and my family, and my ex was even ordered to pay toward my attorney fees. Sharie is tough. She knows family law and she knows how to actually litigate a case. She didn't stuff their billing to drive up the price like my ex's attorneys did. She knew when to fight and when to negotiate and even talked me down when I thought the only path forward was fighting. If you're looking for a family law attorney, especially for custody or a contested divorce, I would definitely recommend Virginia Family Law Center. Hopefully I never need a family lawyer again, but if I do I'm calling Sharie and her team.

Hello. My name is Adrian Morales…read more My experience with Livesay & Myers had some positives, but also major setbacks. I started with a different lawyer who was rushed, inattentive, and whose overall planning wasn't beneficial to my case. When she retired, I was assigned to Alyssa, who had little experience with custody cases. Despite this, Alyssa was professional, approachable, and genuinely tried to support me, explaining legal issues clearly and making a stressful process more understandable. Brittany was a good assistant and helpful whenever she could. Unfortunately, a very crucial court date was missed by Alyssa, which I believe was the turning point in our case. After that, the judge sent our case to Fauquier County, and that's when things started to go downhill. To make matters worse, during my last case in Loudoun County, they sent a random attorney to support me who didn't know anything about my case, making both me and Livesay & Myers look unprepared in front of the judge. After spending $18,000, I literally got nothing from the ordeal--the only modification that came out of all this was a calling schedule with my kids. Livesay & Myers can be capable and supportive, but I strongly suggest clarifying who will handle your case and their experience with custody matters before committing.
