We did look at a few other properties as a sanity check, but they just didn't compare. We decided to move forward with an arduous negotiation that left us all on pins and needles. Through it all, John was very responsive and offered well-timed and much-needed comedic relief. We ended up under contract on our new home at $75,000 under asking. Next, we had to sell our house! Peace of cake in this market, really, but John made the process smooth and nearly effortless. He sent over very kind gentlemen to clean up the yard and lay new mulch. He also sent over a very professional and talented photographer that captured our home beautifully. We have two young children, so it was important to us that showings be scheduled in advance and be as unobtrusive to the children's schedule as possible. which is a request that John took seriously. We used ChuckTown Homes to do both! We met with our buyer's agent, Andrea, to discuss all of our wants/needs in regards to a new house. She promptly got us set up on a portal to begin mapping out where we wanted to be and for houses to be tagged for us within our budget. She was prompt in getting back to us with any questions and with setting up viewings. When it came to negotiations with the sellers of the home we wanted, so was very proactive! Our buyer's agent, Matt, was just as great! We set up an appointment for him to view our house to discuss what we think we can sell for (as well as why, including other homes in the area that were comparable). He advised us on how to have the home set up for photos and how to have things done for showings. He talked very rudely to a listing agent that was showing our home to the point she left upset. She will gladly verify this is true. She said he talked down to her and was very arrogant. Even to the point of swearing at her. I think working with someone till the end is the best customer service. He did not show up for closing he sent another person from his office which we had no dealings with prior. I later saw on his facebook he was out partying on a trip. After closing and making money off our prior house and the current home he sent no thank you card or gift like most agents historically do. That's two homes he profited from, a thank you card would have been nice. When I mentioned this to him he hung up and said "don't talk to me like a child" and blocked me from social media so I would not give him a bad review. I was shocked. We were always kind to him! A year we learned that at closing he should have advised us of a tax form we needed to avoid an increase of payment. Fortunately we had a wonderful friend in the business who helped us avoid further problems with the appropriate forms. We filed the form and, Bingo, everything worked out! This by far was the worst experience we have had in sales of a very important transaction. 2 homes! If he is reading hopefully in the future he doesn't allow his personal problems to affect how he treats customers, which we were told was the cause of his lack of professionalism. We are sorry to hear of his problems from his office however that does not we negate being treated poorly by agent.
