He also said they don't even make that brand anymore (they sell them at HD I later found out). Interestingly, the quote is the same whether the job takes one hour or 5. Make it make sense. Was quoted the same price to replace a valve, face plate and shower head in my shower. They call it a "rebuild" so it sounds more involved. Another guy told me that they wouldn't clean my steam boiler due to its age and I should consider a new one. And then began the incessant texts and phone calls to upgrade my boiler, requests to leave a five star review, and friendly check ins in case I had questions. Sometimes it was a human, sometimes an AI that was no help anyway. They checked the box to keep my cc on file on the form I signed without my permission. Now I have to call these jokers to get it removed when all I want is for them to lose my number. In short: Their prices are too high and you need a restraining order to get rid of them. The guys who came out however were perfectly nice and respectful.

Have you ever changed the oil and filter, replaced a battery and a spark plug on your lawn mower? How long does that take? Less than an hour? Or maybe about an hour, depending on how fast you move. Well, RALCO performed all three : oil change/filter, new spark plug and swapped out the old battery for a new one. Charge for labor : $450. That doesn't include the cost of the oil, filter, spark plug and battery. That's just the labor cost. $450! Total bill $707.00. I have nothing bad to say about RALCO. Their invoice (see attached) says it all.

But afterwards, unfortunately, I learned the Kohler app for this generator is basically non-functional. Disconnected from the generator. Cannot be reconnected by the customer. And an internet search reveals this is a very widespread common problem. (Fortunately it is only used to monitor activity and adjust basic settings. The generator still functions). I've tried repeatedly to get help from Ralco on this but have been ignored. That comes as a surprise because their communication was excellent, before they got my money.

Chris wasnt able to come by the same day but said he would call us the next day. The other 2 electricans left us with a "I'll call you next week if I have the time to come by" vibe. Translates to; let me see how my cash flow is going, & If I need money, I'll go by. Not Chris! He called us back within 30 min of our original call. Apologized he couldn't make it that day, but would be here the next day by a certain time. AND HE WAS! Dressed neatly, worked neatly & kept the mess (dust etc) to the minimum. Cleaned his work area as he went along, realizing he was in a kitchen & sawdust didn't mix well with food. Worked quickly. The following day we realized another switch wasnt working. We called him back. He was a bit confused a moment bc he hadn't touched that circuit, but was determined to solve the mystery. Our house was built in 1850. Layer of ceilings covered old wires from several decades ago. He was able to trace the wiring & power without cutting a large hole in my ceiling. Just 2 small squares. He was able to find the short in the wiring & patched the ceiling quite well too. Chris will be my first call in the future.
