Their electrician refused to do electrical work and left in a huff. I had Zimmerman give me an estimate for replacing all plugs and switches in my home while I am in the middle of contruction/repairs. When the day came for the work, I told their electrician that I work from home and having running appliances, so the house can't be without power for days, as he was wanting to do. When I questioned him on why he couldn't work one circuit at a time, he effectively said "it would be too much extra work to find out which circuit is for which room". To reiterated that I work from home and need power to at least do that, or he walks. He decided to walk, insulting me in the process, stating "you should have cancelled since you were sick anyway". Edit to comment to Owner: My review has nothing to do with the estimate. I can understand a missed commincation that circuits needed to be on during the work, which would have changed the estimate, and even the need to reschedule; my review is wholey based on your worker's professionalism. If the work-time was wrong due to this, a professonal response could have been outreaching you for clarification. Instead he decided to chuff off, throw insults, and attempt to blame me. read more

Summary: Very satisfied with their service. My appointment was scheduled quickly (within 48 hours), Dave was prompt, the work was efficient & looked clean, and the price was fair. Reputable: These guys are licensed & bonded through the State of Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC: #301620). I'd do business with these guys again in a heartbeat; much more affordable than the larger companies, with the reputable business you'd expect. The Work: We has an outlet installed on a wall for a flatscreen TV. He probed through the existing FSE box before plunge cutting into my drywall (awesome). He measured out my TV brackets to ensure the FSE box would clear the mount (awesome). He discovered plywood behind the drywall (not normal for an interior wall); took the time to measure out and analyze the reason, determined it was in fact plywood and not wall framing studs (awesome). What looked like a simple job, was a bit more difficult than expected. He overcame the problem, installed the outlet to code, and guess what... the price was the same (amazing). Great job. I have never had such an unprofessional experience with a contractor in my entire life. They complained and dropped "f-bombs" the entire time they were there. They must have dropped the "f-bomb" at least 2 hundred times. And loud enough for all to hear, including the neighbors. Not at all what their website claims to be. They did the job sufficiently, but in a super, non-professional manner. I do not recommend using them. read more

I agree on planning out a project. I told you ahead of time everything that was needed to be done. The scope of my request should have pre-determined a one or two man crew. You quoted me a "per hour" charge so I wasn't expecting any freebies by having the fan balanced. I only wanted my project completed all at the same time. I ended up hiring another person. Two men came out, spent roughly the same amount of time your one person did and charged 50% LESS than what you charged me. My projects are finally completed. P.S. The fan did NOT have to be balanced ! My advise to anyone reading this review is to find another company. read more

I contacted Zimmerman Electric based on the yelp reviews. Shawn came to install a pendant light in our kitchen and a few days later to install a ceiling fan on our patio. He more than deserves the 5 star rating I was able to give him here. He was very pleasant and personable. It was like having your brother come over to do your electrical work, except that Shawn was a pro and knew what he was doing. We had an issue with an extension in our home and Zimmerman was a vendor on Sun City West's PORA list of approved companies. We had just had a pipe break in our ceiling and a complete recipe done so the walls were open everywhere in the house. With that said what better time to have our electric concerns attended to. A blow dryer would knock out our extension and both bathrooms as they were all three rooms on the same circuit. That was the main concern, we had bathroom fans installed and GFCI outlets installed all around the house. Nicely done. A blow dryer still trips the breaker for the extension and both bathrooms and the breaker is loose in the service panel. We paid his invoice in full and he wants more to fix his mistakes. read more

Price looks right in the ballpark and now we are waiting for the install Looking forward to the upgraded garage lights and additional outlets. Will follow up after install. Update WOW added 15 can lights and 8 addition outlets to my garage and 1in my closet for the printer. The lighting in the garage is now great. Never have enough outlets in the garage so plenty of plugins now. Mark also had the freezer in the garage taken off a gfi circuit which was brought to my attention as a potential problem. Zimmerman Electric did a great job and I have contacted them for another upcoming project of conditioning the garage. Zimmerman did the job in a timely manner and stuck to the quote. read more

We have used Zimmerman Electric several times over the years and have always had excellent results from them. Today, on a Saturday, we heard a strange noise that sounded like electrical arcing coming from either the top of a wall in our bathroom or the attic. My wife called Zimmerman Electric and Sean came out within the time quoted time frame. Unfortunately, by the time Sean got here, the strange noise had stopped. We described the issue as best we could to Sean and he checked both the exhaust fan in the bathroom and the attic above it. I could tell he was very thorough since the poor guy was covered in insulation and sweat when he came back down. He checked everything and gave us peace of mind that all was well and there was not a bad wire ready to burn our house down somewhere in the attic. Thank you Sean! I hired Zimmerman Electric to install interior ceiling lights, garage outlets and repair my outdoor landscaping lights. Everything went as scheduled. However, the outdoor lights were not working properly. The owner sent back is an electrician to troubleshoot the outdoor light problems, but no fix was found to work. I was able to get Mark the owner to come out and after two separate trips, he found the solution. The outdoor lights work incredible. Not many businesses will be that persistent. My home is an older place, and the bathroom fan died. You never really realize how helpful those fans are till your a is broken. Zimmerman was helpful over the phone. Answered my questions and seemed very knowlegagble about all things electrics. The moat impressive part was the questions he asked over the phone. He knew what to ask and provided a dew outcomes. That conversation alone is why I didn't call anyone else. When they arrived they continued to impress. The work was done well and I am ecstatic with the end result. My mom had talked to a couple of other electricians before to get quotes and felt like mark was the best considering price and reviews online. Their customer service is worst than a cable company. I had a 4pm appointment. I get a call a 2pm from their tech telling me he was 30 mins away and he needed to come now because he wouldn't be able to make it at 4. I told him I needed to get back with him in 5 minutes to see if I could get someone there in 30 mins. It took me longer than the 5minutes, approximately 20, I called the guy back, only to be told I've missed the window and he can't come by for the appointment. THE APPOINTMENT THAT WAS SCHEDULED ORIGINALLY AT 4pm. He then acts like it's my fault I wasn't available at 2- 2:30pm. UNBELIEVABLE! I'm so tired of businesses acting like the customer doesn't matter and they're the only business in town. read more

Mark is very qualified to do any electrical repairs. We have lived in our hime since 2004 and when my husband went to turn off a breaker there was no response when he flipped the switch. So I took a look on Yelp and found Mark. The reviews on Yelp were all 5's and so I said lets give him a try. We are very pleased with his knowledge level and all around expertise! Mike did great work for us. We had 2 fans installed in place of recessed lighting in both the living room and dining room. He was professional and onetime. One fan had issues with the remote (both fans were identical and sharing the signal) and he came out quickly to fix the issue. Will use him for sure with any other electrical jobs we have. read more

Called for an appt and estimate. Half hour late for the appt no call and no text saying he was late. Asked at the door if I was going to make him wear a mask. He came in assessed the job took my email to send the estimate said they could probably start the job on Friday before the pool table was installed on Tuesday. Never got the estimate. I called to ask what was up-got no return call. I like to support small businesses but this guy gives small businesses a black eye. Won't get a recommendation from me or anyone I know.
