Things went as well as they could have with Jason as my agent. Buying a home in this market is definitely an emotional rollercoaster. We knew going in that we weren't going to find a good deal as buyers and that we would settle for whatever we could find. However, Jason proved us wrong. Not only did we find a good deal for our home, we also found the one we could call our forever home. A couple of things that I'd like to go over that makes Jason far superior over other agents (from our experience). 1) Wealth of knowledge about homes. Our market that we bought in was in the OC area. From our experience, most homes would already have offers even before their first showings. So going in for the tour, you almost have to make a decision that same day to make an offer. Having Jason there is like having your own home inspector. He knew what needed to fixed, how much it would cost, and how long it would take. Just with that info, we felt pretty good about passing on a home or going after it. 2) Great communicator and very flexible. We had three decision makers in this buying process and Jason knew how work with all of us. Our specs for homes changed multiple times and Jason easily pivoted and catered to what we wanted. 3) Finds the deals. Because this is a sellers market, you'll probably be buying a house at or above market value. We were no different. However, Jason was able to negotiate for us $18k in credits, discounts on all the home inspection reports and also worked to get us a lower interest rate. I was referred to Jason by a friend of mine and couldn't be happier with my experience! This was my first home, and I knew nothing about the home-buying process. I was nervous, but from the get-go, Jason was responsive, organized, very knowledgeable and he answered all of my questions. He made me feel that it was his job to ensure that I found my perfect home and to make the process as smooth as possible, and that's exactly what he did! When we visited homes, he objectively pointed out the good and bad, including beyond the surface observations that I would never notice on my own, and never tried to sway or pressure me one way or another. As we honed in on my preferences, he was patient as we changed our approach to the type of homes we were searching for. During the offer process, even though I was willing to pay more, he advised on a price he felt would suffice, and we went with that and my offer was accepted! Yay - money saved! When we were in escrow, he negotiated credits with the seller without me even asking! He gave me timely updates and you'll quickly find he works all hours of the day to make sure things get done! While he never wanted to influence my decision, I often asked for his input on a range of things, and he was always honest and provided helpful insights. In addition, I would joke he is part-time inspector, part-time interior designer, part-time therapist... the list goes on! He is always willing to help in any way that he can, including providing recommendations for a range of services like inspections or contractors, which was helpful for me because I didn't know anyone and wouldn't even know where to start looking! After we closed, he still made himself available for some follow-up items, which I greatly appreciated! If you are looking for an honest, hardworking, knowledgeable agent that put's his client's interest first then Jason is your agent. He has been fantastic from start to finish and after we got our home. He works countless hours doing the research on any homes that you have interest and questions on.
