However, it was one of the best decisions that I've ever made for my mental health and stability. Taking that step and calling Serene Health helped me see that, no matter how insignificant you may think whatever you're going through is, it really isn't. They made me realize that, yes - I can do it on my own, but I don't need to. They are there for you in any way you need them to be. Serene Health exists for us. The process is simpler than I thought it'd be too, and they've been very understanding and accommodating from the start. I've never felt looked-down on or pitied. I feel heard with them. Personally, I can say that my therapist, Amy, has honestly been a Godsend. She's helped me get in touch with myself and let go of things that were holding me back - some of the things I wasn't even aware of until she helped me take off those rose-colored glasses. She took the time to really see me and didn't let any obstacles stop her from finding the best ways to help me. And it really helps that I'm able to talk to her from the convenience of my own home. I was a domestic violence victim, had emergency surgery and found out I had cancer all in the week. After an almost hour long assessment with housing coordinator, who I had to contact after 2.5 weeks (she said she would call me back with options in a week), texted me the number to a charity; one that I already tried a month prior. It's as if she didn't listen to me at all during the assessment for my needs. Then I needed my case manager to find out why my walker hadn't been delivered. Never did. I had to call on my own and find out the order had been cancelled and rework the whole thing. I needed help with transportation costs, no. I needed help getting OTC meds, no. At the end of the day I only got a headache from them Wasted my time when I was sick and exhausted. I did most of the contacting healthcare providers, resources and then have to report to case manager what I did. Cancelled as soon as I could and then harassed me with calls and texts until I told my insurance to get them to stop before I put in coercion complaint. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAID, NO THEM! Good Riddance.

In the past, we've had issues with getting refills for my husband's Rx in a timely manner from this office. Tbh, it was usually my fault: I let our health insurance lapse a couple of times, and then it took a week or more to get it restored. Today, we found ourselves faced with needing meds that we no longer have an Rx for. The receptionist was patient as she spoke with me (which is absolutely to her credit; I was not calm at all), but she wasn't able to do anything beyond try to get ahold of our doctor, who is off today. Luckily, we found a solution: If you're out of meds and are having to wait for a refill, the pharmacy that usually fills your prescription might be able to help you. If you go to your pharmacy and explain your situation, they might be able to give you a few days' or a month's worth of emergency meds, even if your Rx is expired. Our pharmacy came through for my husband--we went this evening, and he got a month's supply of meds through them. You can also try going to County Mental Health. You'll wait in line all day to be seen there, which is annoying, but it's an option.

When asked where my forms were I looked dumb founded. Not only because I genuinely didn't recall a request to print out paperwork in 2019 when slim to no one actually still own printers without owning a business-but because of the way she was asking me. As if I had committed a crime, patronizingly scolded like a child or some sort of imbecile. She incessantly asked me why I did not do what she requested. I explained that I genuinely did not remember the request and would be happy to reschedule. I told her I understand you have other patients and I don't want the session to take up someone else appointment time. She was rude in her response that "yes I do have other patients but why do you not remember?! Why are you here today??" I told her I didn't not feel comfortable. When she continued to antagonize me for the lack of forms upon arrival-- i explained to her that perhaps the state I was in when making the appointment it didn't register. Then I told her I was leaving and didn't see this as a good fit. What is also wild to me about her dismay regarding me not showing up with consent forms, is that I called days before to confirm the time. There was no spoken reminder of a sent email or a confirming question asked of whether or not I had received the forms. Typically patients arrive 15mins early to any appointment health related to fill out forms... NEVER have I experienced someone so utterly unprofessional and hostile, especially in a role where she is to be understanding . Wow. Save your time. This person is not worth it!
