Have been going to Mevi for a really long time his dad was in practice. I was pregnant with a really bad cold and I called to make an appointment because I wasn't sure what I was able to take and the receptionist said that I couldn't be seen because I hadn't gone in for a visit in over a year!!!! I was sent to Dr Mevi because I had been diagnosed with high-blood pressure and diabetes at the urgent care clinic. The Dr's at the clinic treated me, but I needed a specialist as my blood sugar levels were not coming down. Dr. Mevi was GREAT! He spent 1.5 hours with me, taking history, explaining the disease and how the two maladies were connected. He showed me that I don't just have to sit back and be a victim of my disease, that I can take control through what I eat and how I live. It was a life changing moment. Since that first appointment, I have seen my health improve significantly. What I liked best about Dr. Mevi was that he didn't just tow the line and tell me I had to take pills the rest of my life like the Dr.'s at the clinic told me. Instead, he said that I could cure myself with his help and guidance and that's exactly what I am doing! Highly recommended!!! read more

Disorganized and rude front office. Gabi, one of the office staff in particular takes the cake, no customer service skills at all or even just social skills, she won't acknowledge you for several minutes and when she does her tone is very cold as if she hates her job. My husband had the same experience when he went in as well. We both happened to be getting physicals (on separate days) and both were told we'd be called regarding blood work but that never happened so appts had to end being rescheduled. Also, office had to reschedule my appt again because they failed to notice I'd not been in for a couple years and apparently needed to schedule me as a new patient. read more

Ok. i tried to get in as a new patient last year but nope doctor is full. My friend got in becuase he had a bad injury and he new someone. Well I went with her and i just didnt dig the whole experience. First Gabi at the front is rude- never looks up when someone is at the counter- I hate that - it took like a minute for her to look up and say hello (after I said hello). Then on the way out we were waiting to give the girls up front the prescription the doctor wrote up and they (gabi and a blonde gal) ignored us all the meanwhile haveing some sort of private conversation.Now the doctor- I didnt care for his bedside manner but I felt the office personnel just ruined my whole experience. read more

i hate to give mevi jr. even one star as my experience with him was very serious. he gave me medicine that did not agree with me and insisted that i would adjust in a few days but that did not happen and my body went thru dire misery. i went back for help and he said he refused to give me any more pills. i didn't ask for more pills as i just wanted to get back to my normal self but he didn't seem to care about my feelings and was very persistent about his pills which were taken away from me by another dr.that i went to and replaced with just one medicine that corrected my problem immediately. during my period of physical suffering while taking mevi jr.'s pills i did develop a little heart damage. i am not happy about that. i find it sad that he didn't follow in his father's footsteps as dr. john mevi was the best dr in los banos and i miss him terribly. unfortunately jason mevi is not a chip off the old block! i have written this review for my grandmother read more

Dr Mevi has been my doc for 20 years. His office is beautiful and his staff is excellent. Yolanda, his assistant is so pleasant and never has to poke me more then once when drawing my blood. Dr Mevi was able to diagnose my appendicitis over the phone. Dr Mevi is the best doctor in Northern California. read more

They don't make doctors like Jason Mevi anymore. Or maybe they do, but the system grinds them up and spits them back out elsewhere. We're incredibly lucky to have him, for however long that will be. No, he probably doesn't take direction well or pat your hand while he's explaining what your problem is. Because he's the doctor, not the other way around. He's done more for me in the last 5 or 10 years than I can begin to relate here. It amazes me, the research he's always on top of. He literally stays up on everything, and he knows your whole family's history and is able to apply it to your situation. What's not to like here? He talks to you as the adult you are. Jason doesn't baby you, true, but more of that is what's needed. On a really bad day (year) for me, that man sat there and talked to me for over an hour and a half, never left the room. I don't know what they did with his other patients, or his lunch hour, but Jason talked me down out of a pretty bad place. And I know he didn't get an insurance reimbursement for that "chat" time. I'd by far prefer the facts or truth than some feel good pats on the head. He's a stellar doctor. As for his staff, they're great, too, Yolie in particular. I dread the day we lose Jason. My medical state and that of a whole lot of others will certainly suffer for it. read more

Where do I start, my mom was a patient & in his office very often complaining about breathing issues, I would have her do a review, but I can not since she passed away. We found out the day she died, that she had stage 4 lung cancer that was never diagnosed, this was in Oct. 2013. My dad was a patient of Dr. Mevi & was in Mevi's office regarding his rectum bleeding very often, he was told they were hemorrhoids & at his age he would just have to deal with the bleeding, this was bleeding that ultimately made him have to wear a pad like a woman on her period. In August 2016 we had to put dad in a nursing home because his dementia was getting worse, Mevi signed off on the paperwork. Oct. 18, 2016, my dad was diagnosed with rectal cancer, that was 2 months after his last visit with Mevi. I would have him do a review, but he died from rectal cancer August 2017. Now for me, I was a patient of Dr. Mevi, I was going to Mevi because I was having issues with my arm hurting, he put me on muscle relaxers which did nothing but drug me up, I went back he did a 2nd round of them, still nothing, finally he sent me to a nerve dr to have my neck checked. The nerve dr sent my results back to Mevi & told them I needed to be seen regarding my thyroid, i was not contacted by Mevi's office, I called the nerve dr trying to find out what was taking so long on the results of an MRI & they told me you need to see your primary care dr. you have something wrong with your thyroid. I called & was able to get in that day. When he came in the room he seemed disgusted that I was there, he asked what the visit was for & I told him the nerve dr said I needed to have my thyroid checked & I am starting to drop things. He said they sent you back to me cuz they don't know what is wrong.... I said well there is something wrong & you are going to do something. He turned his back to me & looks through my chart & says with his back to me, I am going to send you for an ultrasound & to pain management & walked out the door, never made eye contact with me again & I could tell he was pissed. The ultrasound turned into me needing a biopsy. I did the biopsy & on Oct. 17, 2016 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, the day before my dad was diagnosed with his cancer. Within 2 weeks I had surgery, I had no time to get established with a new dr. so my results went to Mevi's office, results that I had cancer, results that I had surgery, results that I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia from throwing up when they were removing the breathing tube, not once did they reach out to me to check on me. A few days before my surgery I walked into a new dr. office for a walkin appt. to see if I liked him. He called me the day of my surgery to make sure I was ok, not Mevi, he checked on me at the hospital, not Mevi. Months later when we went back to dealing with my arm hurting my new dr finally requested my file from Mevi's office & the lady in the office calls me & very rudely says once you leave you can not come back! I said you couldn't pay me a million dollars to walk into this office! Oh, & by the way, my arm hurting, I had to have shoulder surgery in August, the same day my dad died from his cancer that was not diagnosed...... Sorry but 3 strikes & your out... Please think twice about going to this dr. read more

Dr. Mevi has to be one of the most, if not the most, clear and concise Dr. I have ever been too. Every time I have been to his office I am always treated well by the staff, the check in process is quick, and his new state of the art office is a very nice atmosphere to wait in (and yes we all have to wait). I can state many examples of why he is a great doctor, but here is one that comes to my mind quickly. I travel around the world in my career and therefore when health concerns come up I like to get them addressed early. In one case I went 3 different doctors in the course of 3 week about an eye infection I had. In all cases I was told it was an eye infection, but while I was overseas, my eye swelled closed. I flew home the next day, went straight to Dr. Mevi's office and was able to get in within an hour. The first thing Dr. Mevi told me was I had an eyelid infection not an eye infection. Gave me a completely different medicine and low and behold, by the next morning the swelling we reduced by 50%. Within another day it was all gone. So does Dr. Mevi know his medicine?? In my case I would say 100% as he looked at the cause not the symptom for my treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Mevi as this guy knows his stuff. read more

For my entire life, a Mevi has been my doctor. First John and now Jason. I have always had excellent care and continue to today. When I come into the office, I am treated well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jason always takes the time to explain things to my understanding and his medical knowledge is astounding.
