I love my doctor but I dread making an appointment because the back office (people who answer the phones I guess?) regularly has you on hold for 20+ minutes Just waiting for someone to answer. This morning, a young lady finally answered and when I told her I'd have been on the phone for 22 minutes she was shocked because she said her phone only rang once. I don't know what's going on over there but this is been going on for quite some time. I hate calling Apex. I left a similar review in 2020 so these reviews are not making anything better. Dr. Selvan is awesome. I have never had a doctor listen to my concerns so thoroughly and make me feel like my heath is a priority to them. I've had doctors tell me excuses and vague advice with no real follow through or plans to help me. Dr. Selvan gave me options for care, his team followed up with me, appointments never seem to be more than a week or so out. The front office team is always helpful and sweet. Dr. Palaso seems to do well with the diagnostic portion of medicine, yet lacks dedication to the patient, fails to follow up, and has poor communication skills. Five times now he has not refilled my 88 year old mother's insulin prescription in a timely manner, placing her life in danger. He personally missed scheduled phone appointments twice. Talking with Dr. Palaso is like arguing with someone who looks down on you. Don't ask for clarification and you may be ok. The staff echos these values. They don't return calls, have zero customer service skills, and their answer to everything is "go to urgent care". If you enjoy the above in a physician, this is the place to be. Dr. Polasa is very quick to find out what my medical problem is, thoughtful and detailed. The medical staff and office personnel are friendly and helpful. If my doctor is not available as quickly as I need help I still get very good medical care from some one on duty, urgent care and emergency if needed. Do not come here! They take forever to see you! I went there today to get my vaccine and their was blood on the table they did not disinfect! They also left me in the room over an hour after I received my first shot and when I stepped out of the room two medical assistants where talking and got scared and said they didn't know anyone was in my room! Have been with Apex for about 5 yrs. since we moved into the valley. Giving them the benefit if the doubt all this time, the time has come to look for alternative services. The telephone staff are unfriendly. The average wait time on HOLD is 15 minutes and sometimes much longer. In the end they are the least professional medical group. I got sick over a weekend and called on Monday to seek a Covid test. My Dr. was unavailable and they scheduled me to talk with an alternate on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday I went for my test and was told the results would take 24 hrs. Thursday evening I call for results as I did not hear back from them. I was told to call back the next day Friday. I did and no answer. Today Monday is a holiday and they are not answering phones. Tomorrow is One week now since my Covid test and I still do not have my results. read more

I just want to say that this Dr is amazing a 5 out of 5 I give her for her patients understanding and she answered all my questions honestly I am more than pleased with my appointment I have one coming up on the 7th of this month for surgery and I am a little nervous as I have never had surgery before in my life. She is an awesome foot doctor I highly recommend anyone out there that has a foot problem etc to go to her because she's amazing! The podiatry group is beyond welcoming and amazing. It was a very short wait from the time I walked in and saw the doctor. I needed a procedure and the doctor did it that day and I didn't have to be rescheduled. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend this father/daughter doctor duo. I'm so pissed. My husband went in Friday for chest pain coughing and couldn't breath good and they gave him an X-ray for Monday. We kept calling and bugging them for the results because he wasn't feeling better they kept saying if it was important they will call you soon. So we thought he was just sick and would go away. But no it got worse so we called again! Said the doctor will call you back calls back Wednesday and says to come In Thursday to talk about the X-ray. Goes in Thursday finally and they tell him he has pneumonia! Really you took a week almost to tell us that!? What if something happen to him worse! And my daughter goes here too! Update on Apex. They have now expanded their building with other waiting rooms and offices. I find it much much nicer now and crowds no longer exist for me. I usually book appointments in the afternoons and works out great for my family. I also like the fact they now have internal medicine and a podiatrist doctor now too. Second floor Dr. Kem's staff doesn't answer phones or return calls, called at 8am till 10:15am no answer or call backs, the staff writes all your info on pieces of paper with other patients info, the doctor doesn't even see your chart just comes in and tells you what's happening, he does no evaluation just says he will refer you to someone else. Make sure you arrive 3 days in advance because no matter what time you get here they will not see you on time. If you are early you will still be seen after your appointment. This clinic is quick and efficient. My husband, 6 month old baby and I have just moved here from San Jose, CA where we're used to the long waits and seeing a different doctor every time we go in there because they're so busy. It's nice to not have to have the whole clinic familiar with your lady parts! I would've given them 5 stars but the other reviewer is right when they say that they aren't presentable in the slightest. I was actually surprised of how happy I was with the overall experience after walking in and seeing the way the receptionists looked and looked AT me. On the topic of having a doctor in another city, it's not the clinic's problem that you couldn't be seen. It's Medi-cal's. You have one primary care physician and you have to call Medi-cal and switch to APEX before they can see you. So, rating them badly because of that isn't right. On the topic of hickies, I myself have never seen them with any. They do have tattoos and piercings, but have you seen the neighborhood that clinic is in? That part of Los Banos is ghetto! If everyone in there was prestine and thought they were better than their patients, then this would be an awful clinic. Because they are just ordinary people that want to keep other people healthy, instead of snooty professional-looking old hags that don't like their own patients, let alone new ones, I'd say that's what makes this clinic so great. This clinic has been giving me excellant care since arriving here in Los Banos in 2012. I have been seen by several different doctors here and I have faith in all of them. My Dr Polasa has been my PC for almost 2 years now and has taken the best care of me in that time. I have also had other family members seeing doctors here and we have always been treated with respect. Yes sometimes you have to wait to see the doctor but that is because they take the time to listen to what you need to say. Most doctors do not even know your name. I seriously disliked the front desk ladies. Rude! Especially when im forking over 120 bucks for a visit. Doctor was pleasant.

From never being seen on time at your appointment time, the staff not being competent, to the doctors being lazy and not being able to figure out what's wrong with you until they've seen you 4 or 5 times, to you having to do the follow up calls, just to see what was wrong with you after test results. This place is a huge disappointment. They need to shut this place down and open up something else. I have had to go from Dr. to Dr. just because my first Dr. was terrible. I'm even put on hold right now as we speak, and I've been waiting for 17 mins now, waiting to set up an appointment. I highly recommend you don't make your primary Dr. at this office. read more

I thought maybe I had a bad experience with that particular doctor, but my husband went again a month later and had a terrible experience too. Very Pleased with final results during my last visit. But I kid you not that it takes a whole lot of effort to get anything done in this place. I've been going to Apex Medical Group for at least 2 years now and I already know that it is sometimes difficult to get them to provide more comprehensive services aside from the routine check up, vaccinations, or antibiotic for my children, and even then the wait time is long and the clinic is somewhat unclean (it has heavy foot traffic and it shows). Once you are finally seen by the Dr you find that the Medical Assistants etc are far more courteous than some of the Drs, as they often don't take the time needed to really provide decent service, they just seem overbooked and understaffed at all times. The problem is that we are not in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, or Monterey where you can get your pick of the litter for services (of any kind not just medical). If you live in Los Banos, you have to understand that you get what you get. They don't have nearly enough facilities and programs, nor do they have the same quality of services that more populated (and adequately funded) cities have. Period. So when you think of it that way, you have to take the pros with the cons, or move to a more adequately funded area, because unfortunately the other medical practices in Los Banos not are much better, in fact they are probably of equal or lesser quality. So back to my last experiences with Apex: After going around and around trying to get paperwork filled out so my son could get referrals to a specialist for his Autism, I was FINALLY able to get someone to review his chart and all supporting documentation. without the support of Sharon in Quality Assurance, Dr. Juliette, and Dr. Karthikeya Devireddy, My paper work would have never been ready to submit to the insurance company and he would have never been able to receive his specialized services. I can't say to much about another Dr in the same office who refused to even look at my son's records and determine what could be done, (or the fact that I probably would NOT have been put through the ringer in other (i.e. more affluent) counties trying to get services that barely exist in Los Banos) but at least this office is fortunate enough to have members of their staff who can truly help when it's needed the most, and see things from the patient's perspective. read more

I had an appointment scheduled way in advance and was made to wait 4 hours to be seen. People that came in after me were seen and left even before I got called to the back. When I would inquire as to when I would be next the girls at the front desk told me in a few minutes but the few minutes never came until minutes before the clinic closed is when I was finally called to the back. No apologies, the girls at the front desk thought it was finny that I was made to wait 4 hours with an appointment to be seen 4 hours earlier than I was actually seen. Very unprofessional staff.
