I typed "coffee" into Google Maps and The Grind was the first place listed. We pulled up and didn't expect much to be honest. Once inside, we ordered two coffees and proceeded to have one of the most genuine and refreshing interactions with the owner Gator and barista Jeff. The coffee was delicious and the good company was even better. We could have hung out there all day. Now that I've read other Yelp reviews, I'm glad to see that we are not alone in our positive experience. I hope this business thrives indefinitely.

I was immediately impressed to see that most of the employees were high school students and after ordering we left a generous tip. They brought out the bottomless soup 10 minutes before the rest of our food and before we even sat down. My dad gave my mom and brother a spoonful. When he went back to get another bowl the employee told him that because my mother and brother had tasted the soup he could not get another one. After discussing this with a manager he said that our actions did not warrant that kind of a response. When the waitress brought the bowl she slammed it on the table and rolled her eyes as she left. The beautiful scenery and periodic wildlife were amazing. I think the best moment was stopping off at a beach at low tide where numerous large pieces of ice from a glacier were sitting on shore. I remember on a trip back to Anchorage last summer I stopped by and they had just closed and the girl (sorry i didn't get her name) came to the door and told me they were closed but she would make me something if I wanted it. I declined because she was close to being done cleaning and she offered me the remaining drip coffee she had and I said okay. You don't get service like that anywhere.
