I can still remember locals who would go there in the morning with their pups for their newspaper and to talk about the happenings of the town. I used to study there when I was in high school as the alternative to the hipster other place in town. I find the coffee at Sleepy Dog to always taste much better, the espresso is not burnt, and it just has the right amount of flavor to remind me that I am in small town Alaska. Sleepy Dog Coffee is forever a staple in Eagle River Alaska that will never forget its humble roots. I was happy the day I stopped in, ran into an old friend, held my warm cup, and admired the walls, even though they have changed slightly, of my Sleepy Dog Coffee house. This place is 5/5 stars and should be your place to stop for your morning cup of coffee if your just stopping through.
