Front of the Bake Shop and gallery next door! Definitely enjoy both!!

Friendly and fast! Ham and cheese omelette is a must, so much flavor and lots of ham chunks! Cozy hot chocolate with whip on a chilly morning in Girdwood is how you should start any late summer/early fall day. Definitely will become a traditional stop for future trips to AK.

Sourdough pancakes. Sorry I forgot to take photos before we started eating;-)

The best part of our experience was sitting outside looking at the mountains, and parking lot, as we ate our pancakes. Nothing like we've ever had before; sweet, sour, and deliciousness in your mouth all at the same time. We also ordered an omelette with meat but don't remember the name. Both were fantastic.

I had a fan-freaking-tasting Reuben sando here not long ago. It came out HOT and smothered in Thousand Island, and tasted so good on a cold, snowy day. The meat was juicy, fresh and very flavorful. I also ordered a side salad which was generously dressed. It paired excellently with the Reuben. I couldn't walk out without trying their famous Sweet Roll. Nothing short of phenomenal. This bad boy is the perfect combo of buttery goodness, flakiness and sweet. The caramel is light, but a little went a long way. Definitely could taste the anise. Topped with a soft, lemony glaze (not very tangy) and sliced almonds, it's no wonder this treat is so well known. 10/10 would drop in again.

OMG the SOURDOUGH PANCAKES!!!!! I used to get them from another place in Anchorage until I found the Bake Shop and this is the ONLY place I will go to. For the rest of my life. Lol, but seriously!!!! Amazing any day any time any time of year. Seriously, you have to try them.

2.75 stars... this place has been around for what seems like eternity. It's one of very few dine-in breakfasts spots open in Girdwood. Very small interior, you immediately get the competitive instinct to race for an empty table, should one become available. There were a couple small seats outside, but if it's snowing or raining, they wouldn't work. Pros: I love the unlimited soup option, you can keep getting your soup refilled as many times as you want till you're full, for about $10. I also love their sourdough pancakes, it really gives you a taste of Alaska. I also love their freshly baked items like the thick hearty toast and gigantic cinnamon buns. Cons: all the condiments (maple syrup, Tabasco, etc) are on the tables already, and are not being wiped down for bacteria, between customers. Also, food does not come out together, even if it was ordered at the same time. Atmosphere is quite loud, and as I said before, securing a place to sit can be a challenge. Staff was friendly enough to us on our recent visit, no complaints there. Conclusion: basic bakery-cafeteria vibes, fresh soup is a bonus, as well as fresh baked items, however it is no frills, and hard to find seating. I prefer Jack Sprat, a near-by restaurant, over this one.

Grilled ham and cheese, cup of mushroom soup and Izzie. $20.

The bale house grilled ham and cheese didn't disappoint! Delicous bread. Soup was hot and full of mushrooms. V good. Busy spot. Ran out and of cinnamon rolls at 12:45 so get here early if that's what you're coming for.

You ever been to a place that feels like people who are growing up in the town work there? It's hard to describe the energy but it's pleasantly relaxing, even when crowded. I'd suggest getting there early-is as we entered into a line and walked past a line on the way out. It's THAT popular. There's a reason for that: the food is consistent. Everyone's toast came out perfectly, the bacon was cooked fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and the drinks were good.  Recommendation: Cinnamon bun. Oh. My. Gosh. Not too sweet, crunchy on the top and so delicately light and soft inside. That was the highlight of breakfast, aside from peripherally observing the kitchen staff jamming out to 90s/2000s punk/skater rock and curse at a few fringe toasts.  Sure, if you're a person of color you may get some side glances but it won't be from staff. The food is worth it.

Pancakes there were very delicious and fresh. Sadly, they did not have chowder. Overall, good ambiance and delightful people.

Great sourdough bread and huge sandwiches. Kind of tight quarters inside but outdoor seating available in the summer.

Due to the crush of guests, we couldn't get a table so we opted for take-out. We took a chance on the Bibimap (sp?). It was an appropriate dish for an at home meal, but without the heated bowl it comes in. On the way back from Homer we stopped again in Girdwood, this time with a reservation! Our server seated us in the romantic Garden Room", which we always opt for. This garden room is cozy, beautiful and the guests seated there have always been friendly and interesting. We all seem to treat that room like the proverbial "family" room! We started of with a tasting of a wine we wern't familiar with, and which I still can't remember its name! Our server (Blanca) was a true four star waitress. Intelligent, friendly, observant of our needs, and even those that we didn't know we needed! She took the time, even though the restaurant was packed, to clarify the menu, listen to our bragging about our 59th anniversary. She made the whole evening more joyful that we had even hoped it would be. We ordered the Filet Mignon, as per her Recommendation, and topped it with a bottle of Silver Oak. The meat, Blanca explained to us, was from a specific farm in the US. We've eaten lots of filets in lots of restaurants, but this one was right at the top of the heap. At our age this is "dangerous" as we could opt more often for the beef, than the healthier foods Jack Sprat has to offer. Dessert was the "simple" chocolate mouse. Yep, lieke everything else we ordered that night, it was an excellent topper off. We've had several meals over the years at Jack Sprats. We think, like the Silver Oak, they are getting better with age. Yep, we'lll be back, Jack!

We made a reservation and when we arrived the hostess brought us to a dirty table then had us stand by while she set it up. We ordered an zucchini fritters for an appetizer which came out after we were half way through our main course and only after we asked about it. The fritters were almost tasteless.. literally no flavor. The breading was not seasoned at all. If you're a texture person you won't like it as it's very mushy inside. My husband ordered a pizza which he said was a little salty but overall decent. I ordered the pistachio Gnocchi but it was very dry and could not taste any pistachio flavor. The gnocchi had no other ing aside from the potatoe. I Added chicken which made it 10x better. We decided to order dessert to makeup for the lackluster dinner and ordered the pistachio cannolis. They were actually pretty decent. I don't think it's worth coming here for mediocre food and resort prices. We ended up not finishing either of our meals and got more food elsewhere. We may come back if they revamp their menu. TBD.

Was offered salt, pepper, and garlic salt 20 min after we asked for a remedy. Over-salted arugula on the prosciutto and melon appetizer. Panzanella salad was okay; more burrata would have been nice. Mushroom-less mushroom pasta. There were a few tiny pieces, but if you are ordering this dish because you love mushrooms, would not recommend. Server forgot about us a couple of times. The saving grace was the quality of the raw ingredients. You could taste that the steak was a nice cut, and that the veggies were fresh. I really tried to like this place. What a let down.
