I love this place. I now live in Houston after graduating from SFASU, but often make a day trip to Nacogdoches to meet up friends here for a cup of coffee. I love the iced mocha...It has a rich coffee taste and it not too milky like like places..This place is a gem. I am glad to see they are still successful. I remember when they were in a strip center off of East College street. This location has much better parking and a lot of room both up and downstairs. read more

Nice ppl, they know how to make drinks the right way. I enjoyed their specialty drinks and those were goooood. The atmosphere is also inviting. Music is great, just the perfect spot to come with friends and chat or bring your laptop and study. But i would not recommend to go upstairs. Green fabric floor was a bit funky and that octagon bar looking thing in the center makes you wonder what this place used to be. Banged up couches didnt look so great either. Overall it was a great experience This place is very clean. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I thought the prices were a little high on some of their items. I visit this place all of the time and not once has the coffee not been great. All of the staff including the manager and owners are really friendly and know their stuff when it comes to producing an excellent cup of coffee, no matter your style. Sitting areas are always clean and cozy and the bathrooms are clean. The top floor is a great place to sit and study, and the food is delicious. ***They do carry almond milk as a nondairy option and I believe that they might also have soy. They have a small selection of branded coffee cups and thermoses along with T-shirts, and various flavors of whole bean coffee (all of which are delicious and can be ground for you at the counter). If you happen to come near the end of the year be sure to snatch up a bag or two of the Holiday Blend! By far my favorite coffee beans to date and it breaks my heart that it's seasonal. All around great place to just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with some friends, have lunch, or just grab a cup of Mightly Leaf tea and an orange cranberry muffin and study a few hours. read more

This used to be such a great stop for coffee. I was however disappointed in my last visit. I ordered an Americano with an extra shot of espresso and asked for a little heavy cream. The girl accepted my order and began to walk off.....before she did I reiterated that I wanted heavy cream and not half and half. She then tells me that they don't offer heavy cream only half and half. Firstly, why did you not tell me that when I first placed my order? Secondly, the drink cost me $3.90 for 16oz Americano and an extra shot of espresso. I have never paid more than $2.90 for this same drink every where else. That is ridiculously overpriced. Thirdly, when the girl came back with my driin. nk she didn't even put the lid on the cup, she set it on there but didn't snap it down. I like their coffee drinks and the wifi works good. The bad: 1. I could find better furniture at the dump than the sagging-spring, torn and stained goodwill rejects they have here. 2. Hold your breath before entering the men's room; the smell of urine is overpowering - it has been this way for years. I don't know if the walls and floor are somehow saturated with urine or what, because it doesn't really look dirty (except for the peeling floor trim). 3. Dirtiness - upstairs is always dirty - stained carpet covered in little bits of trash, dead and dying plants, etc, Porch door has never seen a sponge. 4. Lack of outlets. Since it is leased, nobody wants to spend money to add outlets. Many of the outlets it does have -especially in the filthy hexagon-shaped junkpile upstairs - are loose/broken. As far as I know there are none downstairs. 5. Horrible music choices. Lots of the worst 50's/60's music imaginable. How about trying SFA's own radio station? It plays music students actually like. *** So, If you don't need to plug-in your laptop and don't mind sitting on dirty-alley furniture atop dirty carpeting listening to horrible music and don't need to use the restroom while you're here, it is a great place to get a cup of coffee. Basically, people like Java Jacks because, well, what competition is there? Uh, none. Therefore, this is the best place in town! read more

I was in town from Las Vegas to shoot a wedding for some good friends of mine who attend SFA. I always look for local coffee shops to check out whenever I travel. This is a nice little place with plenty of seating. Mainly because there is an upper level where you can find a place to study; definitely a student study area favorite. I had their Snicker blended coffee which I was told was their most popular drink, and it was good. I had to use their WIFI to upload image files to my Dropbox account. The speed was decent; not terribly fast but at least I had access to WIFI. Prices seem to be reasonable and on par with other coffee places I have been to. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed with a mix of students, professionals, and families. I will come back again the next time I'm in town. read more

Love the drive-thru accessibility. Way easier to get to then starbucks if you're in a hurry. It is also a great place to meet. In the afternoons it can get a little crazy but it's nice to have somewhere for groups to casually meet.
