Have never had a problem with this vet. Have taken 3 dogs and 2 cats there over the last 20 years and received great service at all times.

Wish there was a zero rating. This place us a joke. Dr. Perez is cold, not the least bit compassionate and I really don't think he cares about animals. Right from the first visit when he came to town (thought I would give a new vet a chance) he has been a total jerk. No personality and a nasty attitude fits him to a T. Refuses to take responsibility if something goes wrong, and blames the owner. He thinks he is God, but let me tell you he is FAR from it. I wish he would leave town. Better no vet here than the likes of him!!! I know some people swear by him, but from my personal experience he is the bottom of the barrel!! If you truly love your fur baby, stay away from this "Vet" clinic!!! Poor excuse for both a vet, and a "human" being. All around poor care both during and after treatment. read more

We took my Maine Coon in to be seen, and all he said was he had an ear infection. My cat was bleeding badly from his ears. Took the vets word for it. My cat died the next day. I looked in his ears after cleaning the blood. He had holes from what looked like canine teeth. Had he actually looked at my cat he would've seen this. I'm so disgusted with this so called Vet! Never again will I ever go to this person. He only cares about getting $$. read more

Quite possibly the most bizarre visit I've had in my life! Let's start with the dynamic between the extremely RUDE vet, his assistant whose vibe is that she resents everyone but the RUDE vet, including his wife who followed him around with the insecurity of a lost puppy dog. Anyone with a brain (or anyone who watches the LifeTime channel) can see what's happening there! Now lets get to the actual visit. The vet was extremely irritated with me (first time pet owner) for not knowing the "proper" way to handle my pet during a vet exam, keep in mind, this is a first for both myself and my pet. His lack of patience literally oozed from this vets every pore. He's just NOT a nice man, and my pets response toward him was categorically deserved. The vet gave me a food based medication in a syringe that had a large needle on it, and an empty syringe, as if I would know what the heck to do with it. He charged me $120+ to be a witness to his messy love triangle, he wrote no instructions on how much medication to give my pet, handed me the medication in inappropriate packaging with no indication of dosage, and last but not least, told me my animal needed a product that he doesn't carry or know where to get. NEVER again! A 1 star rating is too good for this mess of a vet. read more

Never ever bring your animal hospital please, I pray nobody goes to this robot of a man who is their vet. My girlfriend and I brought are 2 year old husky/lab mix boomer into their vet for a kidney stone removal surgery. Our poor baby died, under the hands of this veternaria. He had no sympathy and was rude to us the whole time. Never gave us an option for a pre op and our dog died in his hands. We will never pay this man or clinic, the worst pet hospital ever and the is man should be sued for how he treated us and he killed our healthy dog read more

I took my 14 year old Golden Retriever to Java on 1/26. Weather delayed school and I could not make my morning appointment with our usual vet. I took my dog to Java just to see if his ear drum had healed. It has ruptured in early December. I brought all of his paperwork so Perez could see what was done (dog was sedated for a deep ear canal clean). I explained everything. Perez proceeded to question my methods, said I was doing everything wrong while rolling his eyes, and the proceeded to explain and then show me how to do it. Which is EXACTLY what I said I was doing. He decided it was important to take a qtip, shove it as far down into the ear as it would go, then HIT IT REPEATEDLY to show it wouldn't go further! All the while the dog is whining and trying to get away! Who in their right mind would shove a qtip that far into an ear, HIT it to see if it would go further, then tell me it's fine when I question him!? All the while the dog is recovering from a ruptured ear drum!! I took my lovebird to him twice a few years ago and refused to go back. Every encounter I have had with him has been terrible. He speaks to you like you are beneath him, as if you are an idiot, and then does not give proper treatment. Never once did he look into my dog's ear (with proper equipment). They then charged me $158 for doing nothing! Talk about overcharging. The new facility is NOT equipped to be treating pets. Nothing is sterile and he does not have all the proper equipment needed. Please avoid them like the plague. read more

Awsome vet and great prices. I bring my rabbits in for routine care and nail trims. Dr. Perez is great with them.

Dr. Perez is a very good vet. we have seen a few vets in my over 30 years of having furry family members, in comparison, he is very honest and really cares about your pet. He is a one dr. practice and very busy, but unlike a 5 dr. animal hospital he gets back to you after you have seen him were other vets concentrate on just treating new patients and skip the already paid people for the information they need. J Java's is a very compassionate & caring vet clinic. Staff is very pleasant as well unlike other animal hospitals we have paid. My favorite thing about Dr Perez and Java's is you get to be with your pet when he treats them in the same room, like drawing blood. He is very honest and tells pet parents what they need to hear verses what they want to hear. He will also find an answer if he doesn't know instead of acting like he knows telling you something to get paid and get you out the door like many other vets do. We truly found a great vet! He has taken care of my 2 dogs and 4 cats and i trust and gladly take them to him any day. Java's just lost everything to a fire, & with in 2 weeks he is seeing furry patients again. This shows you his dedication to the animals and pet parents this animal clinic helps. During this emergency time i went through 7 vets to get my pet's meds refilled all but 1 (in a 3 hr radius to home) were rude and knew the situation and unwilling to help including town and country who has 3 offices in 3 cities and said none were accepting new patients, they wouldn't be able to fill my dog's script without blood work results and they would get back to me until 4 days later if they could or not approve a refill. I could not get through to Java's on the phone because of the fire. Nor do i have internet on my phone to know he was still calling in his pateints meds, but while he was going through the loss of loosing his entire life, home and career to the fire he built for up for years he continued to call pets ergently needed meds in! This Doctor truly cares for animals and his heart is in this! We are all sooo blessed that he and his family were all ok, and that he has decided to stay and continue to practice vet., medicine! Please be patient as they transition with in 2 weeks of everything and support them how every you can because you won't find another vet who cares as much as Dr. Perez! read more

Love everything about this place. The vet is highly skilled, listens to everything you have to say about your furry friend, very gentle with them, quick to act. The staff are very friendly and understanding. The environment is very calming and doesnt look like a clinic, filled with plants and flower. You are allowed to be with your dear one through out the visit and wont get separated from them. On top of all it wont cost you an arm and leg to go there, which is amazing and makes you feel easy to visit whenever you see something that worried you. Just remember to have either cash or check with you, they dont accept cards. read more

Thrilled! We brought our cats in on an emergency basis. Java Vets took them in right away even though they were not currently our Vet. (Our vet in Potsdam not only misdiagnosed our cats and almost killed them, but refused to see them right away.) Thank goodness we found Dr. Perez. They were in critical condition. He immediately recognized the condition and provided us with the appropriate treatment. We are so very thankful. He saved their lives!!! read more
