The good: the food was tasty and the location was nice. The atmosphere was laid back yet felt fancy. The bad: our food was cold and took over 45 minutes to get to us. We were in the restaurant nearly 2 hours between waiting for our order to be taken and waiting for the food to arrive. We were there for lunch and arrived right as they opened so I don't understand why it took so incredibly long. The ugly: the service was very lacking, our drinks were never refilled in the hour after getting them the first time to when our food arrived. The waitress also failed to mention that changing our side to onion rings would result in a charge for a full appetizer rather than the "up charge" she said it would be upon initially ordering. Overall: we will not be returning. read more

Casual with a hint of upscale. Next door is also a market w/wine & spirits and even homemade bread! Great combo. We made a reservation at 7 and we were on time. They were super busy, and they had given away the reservation...but luckily- there were a few open tables! Bar was backed up a bit, but pomegranate martini was on point, and Bonanza Cab was tasty. Duck wraps were ok. Could use more glaze as a finish. Oysters Rockefeller were really good- they didn't scrimp on the spinach for sure!! Karli was slammed, but super sweet and personable. Shrimp primavera w/caesar was flavorful with plenty of shrimp & fresh veges. Caesar was awesome. Halibut was moist, sauce was tasty, but would definitely ask for more sauce! Caesar was good, small mistake of asking for the dressing on the side and it was on the salad. Spinach Madeline was delicious!! Red Fish was a bit overdone. Didn't know the fish and the twice baked potato casserole (it is a casserole and not a single twice baked potato) would be spicy (for me). There wasn't any sauce on the fish vs it came blackened - different from what the menu said. I would get a different side other than the twice baked casserole on the next visit. Overall, good vibe- 1 tv playing football behind the bar, there is a covered patio adjacent to the main dining area, and relaxed. Some were eating at the bar also. We discovered this little out of the way restaurant through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was great, loved the 60-70's vibe and for the most part the food was delicious. We got the daily special which was Chicken Parmesan. The sauce was so good but the chicken was a little overcooked and tough. But it's definitely on our list of places to return so we can try other menu options and the bread pudding which they were out of the day we were there. read more

Great service (thank you Abby)! She was so helpful making suggestions. Table of 7 enjoyed sharing appetizers. The duck wraps, home made fried cheese and catfish bites were so good. Entrees were great too. We had the filet mignon, lasagna rolls, fried pork chops, red fish supreme and Cajun pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. Highly recommend Jay Pappas. read more

We were visiting from Texas to celebrate our daughter's 19th birthday, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The service was horrible, and instead of addressing the issues, they tried to make it seem like we were the problem after serving us hard fries. Our waitress did not seem interested in her job at all. My fiancé had to get up three different times just to ask for straws, and even had to correct the bartender on how to make the drink we ordered. The only thing that was decent was the pasta noodles. Everything else was extremely salty, and the "steak" definitely did not taste or look like a real steak. Overall, it was a bad experience, especially for a birthday celebration. We are here once before & the service wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. Food was a little salty. We decided to give it a second try. Walked in & restaurant was 1/2 full on a Saturday night. The sign said "please seat yourself". So the four people in front of us went and sat down & we went and found a table for us. Despite there being no reserved sign the busboy said I think this is reserved. He went off to talk to someone. Little bit later a waitress comes over & asks if we have a reservation. We said no. She said well this was reserved but you can sit here. I said well your sign at door says please seat yourself. She says yeah. So we sat for about ten minutes and waited for a waitress. We were never spoken to again. So we got up & left. I can see why they were 1/2 on a Saturday night. read more
