This place has terrible service. I don't even know where to begin. They tried to charge me more than they quoted me. They didn't do half the things I asked them to do and made every excuse under the sun on why they couldn't get it done. I was without my vehicle for numerous days while I waited for them to complete the work. I had to physically show up and ask what was going on with my vehicle to get any answers, just to find they hadn't even completed the work. Not once, but twice I had to physically show up to get information on the status of my vehicle. They failed to call me back when promised. They literally make every excuse and take zero responsibility for their work or lack thereof. I even accommodated them when they were having computer issues and gave them three extra days to work on my vehicle, but when I showed up, it still wasn't done. I will never bring a vehicle anywhere near this facility. Read the rest of the one star reviews. Sounds like this is par for the course for these guys. The manager even lied about who the owner was so I wouldn't contact them. Based off the other reviews, Doesn't sound like it would matter anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote the decent reviews they have themselves... I'm just not seeing any value here. Save your time. Save your money. Go somewhere else. I'm choosing Auto Select next time. Update : The plot thickens. They charged me to top off my coolant but when I checked it, it was empty!!! This place is seriously laughable. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! We had our son's car taken there for an oil change and they managed to butcher it to the point that the engine ceased. The owner Jay will not take responsibility, avoids phone calls, lies, says that someone else changed the oil or the oil filter wasn't even the type he used. He presents as a very nice soft spoken person in the beginning, but beware! This place is not where you should take your car for a simple repair or even oil change! COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! read more

My 2016 Chrysler 200 was not running correctly. And it didn't have heat. Jays was the one who diagnosed my thermostat being bad, and replaced it the next day to ensure that we were back on the road. I would recommend them to anyone. They are our go to mechanic from now on! read more

My son was given a pickup truck by his deadbeat dad, so we took it to Jay's for an overall evaluation. When it was returned with a clean bill of health, it started leaking on the driveway; it had not done this for teh months we had it prior to Jay's. Within 2 weeks the transmission dropped out of the undercarriage, and stranded him in busy traffic. HMMM- will never go to this shop because it seemed like sabotage. read more

Jay's Auto Repair is likely the worst shop in the central Wisconsin area. Don't be fooled by Jay's phony reviews on his website, he offers discounts to leave them and only 5 stars go through. I should have listened to friends who said to stay away. He claims to be an import expert, I don't think he knows which end of a wrench to use. After being lied to about an aftermarket power steering hose not being available to the good folks at Jay's auto and was told only a Volvo OEM was available, I called my friend at World Pac and discovered what I already knew, the aftermarket Rein hose was available at half the price of OEM. Thus began my very expensive nightmare with the rocket scientist Jay. I took my vehicle into Jay's auto because I wanted someone to fix it, not because I wanted to be ordering and delivering parts myself that Jay's auto claimed to be un available to them.I was lied to and taken for a very dishonest ride! My experience with Jay's has been top notch. Not only did they work with us on repairs to find the most efficient way to do it, but they also have competitive pricing as far as I am concerned. And they have the most thorough inspection I have ever seen in the business. Took our Chrysler Concorde to Jay's for a simple battery cable issue, should have been about a $50 fix. They called with an over $700 estimate, including brakes and rotors, which had just been replaced last summer and weren't even making a peep or giving ANY issues! What a rip off group! They saw my husband, a kindly older man, and spotted their mark! Luckily we told them to concentrate on getting it to start and forget the rest! Don't EVER go to them, especially if you don't know a little something about cars! They'll see you coming and get out their calculator!!!! read more

Took my Ford Taurus there initially there because my Temperature light kept going to Hot, and I had to keeping on adding fluid to the tank, because it kept going empty. Well, after doing an engine diagnostics test (which they charged me over $100 for), they figured out that I had a leaking radiator hose. So they repaired that (at least another $200). BUT the temperature gauge light continued to turn Hot, even though I wasn't leaking any more fluid from the radiator. Took it back, and they did ANOTHER diagnostics test (which they AGAIN charged me for!) which showed nothing wrong! When I mentioned to them that the gauge itself may be malfunctioning, they admitted that may be the case. Later on, the car refused to start, and I had it towed to Jay's. After ANOTHER diagnostics test, they called to tell me that the ignition coil was bad, and that the cost for repairing that would be around $500. I told them to go ahead and put in a new ignition coil, but that I couldn't pick up the car for a few weeks, because I didn't have the money right away to pay them. They told me that when I had the money to pay their bill, that I then could come and pick up my car, which was parked in their parking lot. Well, after a few weeks I went and paid for my car and got it back. After having it for about a week, I took it to another garage to have the plugs changed (Jay's had told me that I needed new plug wires, as well as plugs). The car stopped running on the way to the other garage, so I had to have it towed to the other garage. They told me that I had a bad ignition coil (that's why the car stopped running on the road). This garage also told me that my plug wires were fine. When I told them that Jay's had just replaced the ignition coil, they called Jay's to find out if the ignition coil was still under warranty. Jay's told them it was, so the garage did not charge me for the replacement coil. BUT they could not get the car to run again. They told me that I probably had a cracked engine block, due to the car continually overheating. I wound up junking the car. When I called Jay's to tell them I wanted most of my money back from them, I was told that Jay would call me to talk with me about this, WHICH he never did! I think they knew more about the true condition of the car's engine than they were telling me. Any decent mechanic should be able to determine an engine's problems by listening to it run, or looking at the engine/hoses/pipes, without doing a computer diagnostics test! I will not be going back to Jay's for anything. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Very disappointed that we authorized $200 for repairs before they needed to call us. Gee. Turns out it was $200 for them JUST TO INSPECT IT! We brought the vehicle in for a starting issue. Then were told that it needed various other things. Which would end up costing an additional $800!!!! Did I ask them to check out everything else? No. Just the starting issue. I didn't ask for brkes, tires, ball joints, boots, light.....etc. ..to be checked out. Yet they did it anyways. Almost $300 alone just for plugs, plug wires, and pcv valve? I can do that myself for less than 50. If this isn't fraudulent practices, then I don't know what is. $200 just to inspect a vehicle (that most other places do for free), is insane! For $200 something better be fixed! Never, ever, ever will I recommend this place. Shady business practices. Wow. Does it feel good to rip people off? Looking in the mirror must be a treat. How do they face that image, KNOWING what they are doing is not ethical? Scary. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more
