I do not recommend Jays appliance repair. Their front office is not efficient, essentially rude and they over charge for an estimate. You will be better served with other appliance repair companies that efficiently respond to emails, provide up to date technology to pay your bill and give free estimates. Update: as you can see from the business response, this is not a business that cares about their customer service. Michelle acknowledged that my email asking how to pay my bill went to her junk email. She sent me an email lying and saying I said I would send a check two month ago which I didn't. She accused me of not handling my bill for 2 months and not sending a check when I emailed her asking for a payment link. To be treated horribly and accused of not trying to pay my bill or following through on something but then not apologizing to the customer when your wrong is just a small example of why this company doesn't deserve a penny of your money. After a more than HORRIBLE service call from Sears Appliance Repair yesterday, I had Jay's Appliance Repair come out today to diagnos the issue with my washing machine not draining. The worthless/useless Sears technician (who never even disassembled the machine) immediately said it was the drain pump and quoted almost $600 to replace the pump (of which they couldn't get one for 2+ weeks). After immediately dismissing them as my choice to perform the repair, I had Jay's (Jay himself!) come out today to look at the washer. Jay opened up the washer, found the issue was actually a completely clogged filter basket inside the washer at the pump. He cleaned it all out and it's now fixed & working great! The pump was never the issue. The total repair cost was $128.40 and Jay was here almost 1.5 hours. He was awesome! If you need any appliance repair done right, Jay's Appliance Repair is the place to call! They are honest, friendly, straightforward, have good prices but most importantly, they take care of their customer! I wish I can give this place 0 stars. For the lady that answered the phone, she needs to train on customer service. My sister was trying to weigh her options and review her schedule and when she was trying to explain to the secretary, she was cut off. The statement about "giving the appointment to someone of good faith" was uncalled for. This is not how to treat potential customers and I cannot imagine this business to be professional all around. I feel like this is more of a family business, and with that I can not trust my appliances with this business. Very honest folks. I've used them a couple of times now. The last time they said that the fix was not worth the price. That honesty is much appreciated and they didn't charge me for the visit. Very rare that we get that kind of honesty and service nowadays. I will always use Jay's when the time comes. Keep in mind that you are not going to be pampered by these folks. I have a dishwasher that wasn't draining. My wife wanted a new dishwasher (although this one wasn't but four years old) but by the time I priced a dishwasher including installation and "extended warranty the cost came to $750. I decided to contact Jay's Appliance Repair to estimate what it would cost to repair the existing dishwasher. The cost of repair came to $165. Just needed a pump replaced because somehow a ring from a milk jug bind the pump. How did the ring get through the filter? The repairman said he see it happens but could not give an explanation how it happened. They were prompt and on time when they said they would be there and waiting for the part was short. Jay's Appliance Repair has been around for years. Mr Jay has knowledge upon knowledge in diagnosing and repairing numerous appliances. My three year old Whirlpool top mount Freezer-Refrigerator was intermittently having a water leak occurring in the refrigerator compartment onto the top glass shelf. Whirlpool sent Appliance Tech Repair out and the guy could not figure out the water leak problem since the defrost drain line was not froze up. Last month [July 2020], I decided to call Jay's Appliance Repair. Jay's son came out and IMMEDIATELY diagnosed the problem as being the Freezer compartment having a improperly insulated Air Tower. He ordered the new Freezer Air Tower and replaced it in my Whirlpool Refrigerator within 5 days. read more
