The planet fitness off Holland road in Virginia Beach is clean, has plenty of machines and is located in a great location if your running errands and trying to get a workout accomplished. I go early in the mornings and there never really a crowd, really zero interaction with the people or staff except when I come in and scan my membership. I wish planet fitness had a sauna but it definitely fits my needs and I don't plan on canceling the membership anytime soon.

A little boy who was bigger than my daughter was allowed to tell her where to go and try to direct her against her will. The employee present did not correct the situation or ensure my child felt safe. As a parent, that was extremely unsettling. Staff should be paying attention and stepping in when one child is trying to control or push another child around. Allowing that kind of situation to continue without intervention creates an unsafe environment. On top of that, after I cancelled my subscription and informed them that I was cancelling, they still charged me for an additional month. Being billed after cancelling is unacceptable. Between the unsafe situation involving my child and being charged after cancelling, I cannot recommend this business. Parents should be cautious.

I was there at 6pm and it was close to empty. The gym has hours, open on weekdays till 7pm and weekends 8till 4. So definitely not 24/7. And if you are a morning workout person, the gym will be crowded with active mil folks getting preference especially during PRT events. All in all the gym is clean, staffed by friendly helpful folks and well equipped. No nonsense gym, not a place to get a date, so where only gear to work out in and if you have to walk from the bowling alley to park, that is part of the workout. Four stars due to not open 24/7.

One main thing I love about this gym are the little messages that they write on their wall. They welcome all types of body types and are willing to help if you ask. They do offer certain classes, I believe on Wednesday's and Saturday's. There are certain staffing hours but the gym is opened 24 hours, so you can get your work out on anytime as long as you're a member. They have most of the mainstream equipment and several cardio machines. The energy drinks are a little pricey; however, if you need a little pick me up then at least they have something to help. I recently found out that they also can order bulk supplements for members. Overall the gym is welcoming and not as crowded as mainstream gyms. It's all that one can really ask for! :)

Even though I've been lifting for a long time, I initially felt very intimidated by all the obviously fit people there. Let me tell you, I have not had any bad experiences!
