Even more concerning, it was presented to us in person at the store and we were told it was correct and had passed quality control. We returned the ring within 6 business days because the differences were so obvious. Multiple staff members expressed disbelief at how far off the design was and apologized for the mistake. Brilliant Earth then sent the ring out to be remade. It came back wrong. They sent it back again. After nearly three months of delays and repeated assurances that it had passed quality checks, the ring still did not match what we ordered. To make matters worse, the showroom sample didn't even match the website photos, and the explanation we were given was that my smaller ring size changed the design (which is the craziest excuse I've ever heard for a known ring maker to have). If that is true, customers should be told before purchasing because the final product can look dramatically different from what is advertised. Throughout my entire engagement, I have not had the ring my fiancé purchased for me. Brilliant Earth has even suggested I may need a loaner ring for my wedding because the correct ring may not be ready in time. Despite returning the ring within five days and never receiving the correct product, Brilliant Earth now refuses a refund because more than 30 days have passed, even though they have had possession of the ring since we turned it in within the first 6 business days and have they had it the last three months attempting to fix it. We paid for a specific ring and never received it. The lack of accountability, repeated quality control failures, and refusal to provide a meaningful resolution have made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They also expressed they would not be giving any monetary value as they rarely ever allow that.

My family and I were blessed to walk into Ackermans 24+ years ago and meet their newest staff member Linda. Since then we have been lucky enough to have them as our neighborhood jewelers and the only place we would trust with special pieces and special moments in our lives. I recently got engaged and my fiancé proposed with a travel ring bc he wanted to make sure I helped in the diamond selection process. After taking me someplace else that friends had suggested, we realized that experience was too special to entrust to just anyone. We went straight to Ackermans and after Linda made sure she knew what setting, style, size etc. I was looking for, my fiancé went back the next day and spent over a hour with the owner Ron making sure the got the perfect diamond for me. The customer service, the kindness and the attention to detail (and quality) is unmatched here. We have already popped back in to have the ring steamed and say hello. I can't say enough good things. I visited twice to have the loose stones set. Neither time did he mention needing grading certificates. On my second visit, he sent me all the way home to fetch my chains so he could measure the hardware for the bails. I pointed out that custom bails usually follow standard conventions to accommodate normal clasps, but he insisted. When I finally returned with the necklaces, he threw a brand-new curveball: he now demanded to see the stones' certificates. When I asked why he didn't mention this before sending me home, his only response was a dismissive, "I just need to see them." I asked what would happen if these were inherited or estate stones without paperwork, and he flatly said, "Sorry, I can't help you." If a jeweler is worried about stone breakage under pressure, evaluating the gem's integrity is supposed to be their job and expertise. To spring a rigid paperwork policy on a client after making them run errands is completely unprofessional. a nasty bully who is a total waste of time.
