They take pride in their venue and the personalized, thoughtful, and unique setting they provide. Margie has been planning weddings for years and her experience was incredibly helpful for us during the planning process as she asked questions and gave suggestions on things I never would have thought of without her! The Barn at Highpoint Farms offers SO much- first, they are a flower farm as well as a wedding venue. This means that we were able to use fresh cut flowers for our bouquets, table settings, ceremony décor, and got to take pictures in flower gardens that had the same flowers used for our wedding in them. The flowers were stunning, smelled and looked fresh, adding to the ambiance. The arrangements were well thought out and better than I could have imagined. Second, they offer some housing on site! Along with the ceremony space and the barn for the reception, there are two houses and a couple's tree house on site that you can rent for additional spaces to stay. We did a premium package where both houses and the tree house were included in our weekend. GREAT DECISION! This meant that we, plus our wedding party, had somewhere to stay Friday AND Saturday night that was right on site. Everyone commented on how much they loved that they didn't have to commute back and forth from a hotel, and that they got to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the farm all weekend. Plus no one was late or had any mishaps. We loved the venue so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there Friday night plus the wedding ceremony and reception there Saturday. It was so convenient and really reduced stress having everything in one place for the entire weekend. Finally, there is so much to do and see on the farm! It feels like a magical place, and they have done an excellent job of preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the farm. Everywhere you look there is a perfect photo opportunity, from flower gardens to old pickup trucks, to green houses and rustic barn doors. The venue has so much natural character and charm you really don't have to overdress it with décor and fluff which was a cost saver in the end. There are even horses, goats, cats, and dogs you can take pictures with offering unique photo opportunities. The two guest houses are comfy and stunningly decorated, Margie and family really have a great designer's eye, making them beautiful settings for getting ready photos as well as comfy places to stay all weekend. I could go on and on about The Barn at Highpoint Farms, but it'd be a book. Go tour the venue, you won't regret it. I highly recommend, it was the best decision we made in wedding planning.

I hired Laura as our coordinator for my wedding on October 2, 2021. She sounded really great and professional on our phone call so I was excited. The "drafts" of the wedding day timeline were always very sloppy and unprofessional looking and honestly hard to follow. For example: there were notes that were not correct, misspellings etc. Our wedding rehearsal was SUCH a mess and she actually was not even present at it. She sent an assistant to "run" it which I did feel bad for her because she was using "notes" that Laura sent her. These notes were not correct and had everything out of order, wrong people in the wrong spots, wrong timing etc. I ended up taking over and we were quite late to our rehearsal dinner which was upsetting. On our wedding day - some of the specific things I asked for were not executed at all. (layout/floorplan) Something that happened that made me super upset was that we did not have enough chairs set up for people to sit in before the ceremony began and Laura told people to just stand in the back. However, the venue had many extra chairs that could be set up...they just needed to go grab them and set them up for our guests. My own MOTHER had to stop what she was doing and go tell someone to grab the chairs! Seems so silly and simple but also - why would you tell precious friends/family to STAND when there are extra chairs that can be put out? She came up to my pregnant matron of honor and told her she could not receive a second helping of mashed potatoes "until everyone had some" even though we purchased enough food for everyone to have multiple servings, and that was communicated to Laura. I wanted everyone to know that they could eat as much as they wanted...that was important to me that everyone was well fed! Especially my MOH who was feeling sick from her pregnancy and only wanted some mashed potatoes. During our cake cutting she controlled how my husband and I did everything and honestly I don't even remember most of it because she did everything instead of letting us do it...which was incredibly awkward and upsetting. Even our photographer (who was incredible) said something to me about how uncomfortable she was making this cake cutting for my husband and I. All in all I believe that Laura is a good person, but I would NOT recommend her services in any way - especially for a wedding. This review makes me quite sad and emotional to write because this was my wedding day - and looking back on it while of course it was fun and memorable...I can't look past these issues.

Prior to the ceremony, there's an online form to fill out that covers every possible base. What kinds of songs, any special details... There's so much there, neatly organized, and I was thankful for it. I'd never have thought about a lot of those! A couple weeks prior, JJ called to verify information and nail it all down so we could all be on the same page. The team is very thorough and I really appreciated all the time and effort Travis and JJ put into making sure we had everything planned out. JJ worked very well with not only us but the entire vendor team. He fit right in with the other vendors who already knew one another from working together so often. He listened to the crowd very well, playing a good variety of music. All of our guests complimented us on our musical selection whether they were younger or older, which says a lot! JJ chose fantastic oldies and classics before getting into the dance tunes (even tossing in a few hair band selections for yours truly). My travel-minded friends doubled over with laughter when JJ playing the National Geographic theme song to announce our honeymoon plans to Antarctica. Overall he did a wonderful job providing all the music to keep the celebration hopping all night! I would highly recommend JJ since we personally worked with him, but if JJ was that good, I can't imagine the others are bad. Wow! Travis at Fonix is outstanding…read more These are the guys you want to hire for your DJ work for whatever the event is. We hired Fonix for our wedding back in June and worked with Travis G. He is truly a professional...which is the main reason we went with them. Professional gear, demeanor, website, references...all of that! Dealing with Fonix was a breeze. They have an online system where you can fill out your 'application' and pick out the music and details you want. You can change on the fly and make changes at any point. This made everything very easy for us. We met with the Travis several times and had a final phone call a week before our event to discuss all the details. We chose to include Karaoke at the reception which was no problem for Fonix. They had a huge catalog to choose from the price was excellent. Travis was professionally dressed and did a great job managing the reception. He kept people on the dance floor, kept people at the karaoke station and just helped create a seamless transition from one event to the other. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing a DJ. In fact, they are the only ones I would recommend. Major kudos to Fonix!
