I hired JC drywall Arte to drywall approx 800 sq. ft. including the ceiling. He told me he would cover my floors really good with heavy duty paper and make sure my ceiling was nice and flat as well as take care of a few miscellaneous items that needed to be done. And I paid extra for it! Rafael showed up the first day with his guys to hang drywall and what a disaster! Such sloppy work! They covered my floors like crap! The first piece of drywall his guy put up had an oval sloppy hole for a canned light in the kitchen. Rafael said don't worry we will patch it! Patch a brand new piece of drywall?! Then they covered outlets and an air duct with drywall that I had to notice and point out to them. We had to refer to pictures on my phone to find them to cut the drywall away. It wasn't fun. Rafael left his guys to work the first day without getting a few dotty plates I needed as well a few other small things we talked about. Meanwhile his guys are slamming up drywall like they don't even care. I tried calling Rafael but he didn't answer or respond to my text messages after he was just at my house! Then one of his workers showed up with dotty plates but they already packed the walls with insulation so it was hard to see where they needed to go and I know he missed a few so I hope I don't have screws through any electrical wires. They cut one piece of drywall so bad it was pushing against the door jam so I couldn't close the door properly. Rafael saw it and scratched his head not realizing what it was. I had to figure it out and tell them to fix it. Every sloppy thing his workers did was my fault, my house or a previous workers fault. Then Jose showed up with his finishers and they had to fix my droopy ceiling as well as other things before they could mud and tape. The sloppy guys Rafael brought here to hang drywall made things much harder for the finishers. Everything was a struggle with Rafael and he disrespected me so bad on the phone over my ceiling that I cancelled payment on a check I gave him the day before. After that Jose came over to talk to me and I agreed to continue working with them as long as I didn't have to deal with Rafael. Jose was cool and his finishers were good and the job turned out decent but not the high end job I paid for and was promised. My ceiling and walls were suppose to be paint ready and they're not. Good thing I have a good painter. They didn't make his job easy. Plus they covered my floors like crap so I had a lot of clean up when they were done. I'm so glad to have them out of my house. If you can get ahold of Jose and work directly with him and his guys I'd say okay but Rafael is unprofessional and the guys he brought to my house to hang drywall were disrespectful, sloppy and very unprofessional. read more

He was quick to answer my questions and quick to show up and give an estimate. He spoke openly and was reassuring that the work would be done right. Although he is a busy man, he got the job done when asked. Although I was not home for most of the work process, I met his son (who's name I forget), who did a lot of the work when I was at home. I was having increasingly poor quality workmanship from my contractor's crew so when it came time to install drywall in an addition, I decided it was time to tell the contractor that I was seeking someone else. Fortunately I found JC Drywall. I called Jesus and he called me back the same day and we set up an appointment to visit the site the next day. We went over the entire project and I knew instantly after talking with him that he was an expert with drywall installation and finishing. Since our walls would not be textured, it was critical that the taping and plaster be applied carefully and sanded carefully. I have had drywall installed in our house in Monterey but JC Drywall did a better job on the house in Hawthorne. His price was also half what was quoted by my contractor and I'm positive I would have had more headaches if I had my contractor's crew install the drywall. His brother came out to do some work one day and after I saw the quality of his work, I praised him and thanked him. He said he took pride in his work and was appreciative that I saw this. Everything was done in a professional manner and I could not be more pleased. He would always answer my texts quickly. No worries when JC Drywall takes on the job. I contacted JC Drywall to patch in some new drywall in my master bathroom. After contacting several drywall companies in the area, Jesus (the owner) was the only person to return my call. I couldn't be more pleased that he did! After explaining the situation to Jesus over the phone, I asked him if my job was too small for his company. His answer was "no job is too small", which was nice to hear. Jesus came to my house the next day to provide an estimate, and I had his quote by the end of that day. My son has both allergies and asthma, so we asked Jesus to be extra careful with drywall dust. Jesus and his workers were friendly, and listened to our requests. When the job was finished, there was very little dust, and it was contained to the bathroom. We weren't stuck cleaning up drywall dust all over the entire house (which we've experienced with other companies in the past). My walls are finished smooth, so I was concerned that the new drywall would not match the existing walls in the room. Jesus' team took their time and blended the new with the old perfectly. I also have bullnose corners, which was no problem for JC Drywall. I'm very happy that I found Jesus and JC Drywall. Even though I don't live in a luxury home, I have high expectations for anyone working at my house. I expect a contractor to do what they agreed to do. JC Drywall exceeded my expectations.
