The event space was large, extremely accessible to public transportation, and the break out rooms were cozy for small teams. Safari Playground is on the top of a hill with views down toward the Reservoir. It's the only playground in Central Park that doesn't include traditional playground equipment like slides, swings, or a sandbox. I love it!!

Once we selected our items, we paid and were set up at a table with paints, brushes, and an apron. I'm so glad she made sure we knew the paint didn't wash out of clothes. Pro-tip: Even if you're not painting, wear the apron. Trust me, your shirt will thank you for this advice! The kids had an absolute blast. It was so interactive, and once they finished, they had blow dryer stations so we could dry the paint. The best part? They took the painted items to the back and made them all shiny! The space is fairly small, but packed with a lot of different activities for little ones to do. There are five different 1.5-hour sessions per day, and that's just about the perfect amount of time to enjoy the space. They also give you a token to get a little snack before you go, and that and the time checks toward the end made leaving easier for my toddler. Some of the toys of course get a little depleted and mixed around during the play session, but the person on staff came by a few times to try to help reorganize so each play area stayed fun. I was really impressed by how clean and organized the whole place was overall, and it didn't feel overcrowded like other play spaces we have been to. Definitely support this family-run, Black-owned business! In addition to the regular play sessions, there are also events, crafts, and a gift shop to explore.

This is easily going to be one of my daughter's favorite playgrounds in the city. Although we need a train ride to get here, this space is well worth it. Structures are innovative and there's plenty to climb for a child in search of adventures. There's even a tunnel they can crawl up and down on they're own! There's a section for little ones at the northern end and water sprinklers as soon as you enter to the right. The jungle made of ropes and unstable platforms is unique, and so is the pretend train car that can be moved from outside. This place is nothing short of awesome! We visited on a Sunday afternoon toward the end of summer and the place wasn't even too crowded. It's kept clean and we felt safe. Restrooms are available and plenty of restaurants dots the neighborhood. Go and have a blast with your kids!
