I wish I could leave 0 stars. The employees at the photo department were extremely rude and did not not share vital information. There was a major lack of communication and HORRIBLE customer service. I would not recommend taking photos at this establishment under ANY circumstances. Worst experience and we didn't even get to take our photos. AWFUL doesn't even describe the customer service. Our family has had photos taken here before and have had great experiences. Came here to have grandparent/grandchild session before a family member starts chemo. The photographer was super rushed and annoyed, even though we booked a session for 8-12 (only had 8) and paid the upcharge. She was clearly not experienced with the camera, because all of the kids were super cooperative and she still managed to get mostly shots of them with weird expression, hands in their face, some were even blurry though we didn't realize it until looking at the digital albums on our home laptop. We ended up spending $400 because they only show you little thumbnails while ordering photos. When I called the next morning to cancel my order and request a reshoot, no one ever called back and I was never offered any resolution. This was a complete disappointment. I suggest taking your money and hiring a professional photographer. Would probably be the same price. We used them for convenience (needed an appointment soon and it was cold outside). This is one of my favorite stores in Hamilton Place. I admit I usually shop Women's, Junior's, Jewelry (fine and costume) and Handbags. The people I have had the opportunity to talk to at the check out counters have been helpful and friendly. When I have time to REALLY shop, I will go through the vast clearance items in the sections I mentioned. If you are in Hamilton Place, you should make a stop at JCPENNEY for great deals! read more

HAIRSTYLIST AMANDA THORPE! I'm not from Tennessee but when I was visiting my mother in law who lives in Chattanooga, she asked if I wanted to get my hair done with her by her stylist. Of course I said yes and we came to see Amanda Thorpe at the JCPenny Salon who is fantastic! She touched up my MIL's highlights and did a moisture treatment and deep conditioning treatment on my dry hair. I had never don't the moisture treatment where you sit under the steam but it was so effective and when I come back to visit I will make sure to come back and see Amanda! read more

Have to say I like the new JCPennys. Not a new building but new strategies for business. Think they are getting more like Kohl's with pricing and sales. Decent prices on men's clothing during Christmas and today a lot of clearance items up to 60 and 70% off. Have to like that. Management is absolutely horrible. I put my 2 week notice in on 05/15/2019... Management communicates unprofessionally through text message. my reasoning for resigning as follows: *The fact that there really isn't much business coming through the door. *Being threatened to be let go due to not meeting productivity when there is no way possible without over charging clients like others. *I feel as if I am being used. *Not being on the schedule and collecting points for not being there when two (2) days prior I was not scheduled. *Not being treated equally. *Unprofessional communication between management and employees. *Management scrutinizing employees in front of customers. *Condoning sexual harassment after management being notified (violates the EEOC). *Violations of discriminatory practices that violates The Civil Rights Act of 1964. Along with all of the reasons listed above, growth within JcPenney salon does not seem feasible, considering where the company stands financially and the closing of 27 stores this quarter. Mind you i had changed my availability to Mon-Thus because they were not giving me enough hours and i had to get a second job. Tracy Haire then proceeded to constantly ask if i could work a Saturday basically harassing me about it AFTER being told that i am unable to be on weekends. After turning my notice in that day, (05/15/2019) i check my timesheet.. THERE ARE DAYS I HAVE WORKED AND NOT BEEN PAID. i bring it to Tracys attention and she says "im working on my off day i cant get into the system can you work Saturday?" --- my exact response was "i will not be back" LUCKILY i had already grabbed all of my tools/belongings the day i turned my notice in. read more

Um, kind of a mixed review. While dress shopping-obviously not for me, I was able to observe how one particular employee treated customers. I'm sure her job was not pleasant as she was having to clean up after all the teens that tried on 100 dresses and not a single one of them "worked" for them. As I waited and piddled on Yelp app, one girl brought out a stack of clothes from the dressing room. She asked politely "where would you like me to put these?" The worker said "I don't care where you put them," without ever even looking at the girl. A minute later someone else said "Excuse me ma'am, where can I check out with this item?" Without looking and acknowledging her, she said, "anywhere you want". Well that was helpful. I thought, if you don't want to work here, don't be here. It's not like you don't know you'll be dealing with the public. And--nobody asked you to work here. You applied. On the other hand, I got a great deal on a hooded sweatshirt with an additional percentage off at he register. I went to the hair salon at Hamilton Place Mall. It was birthday (01/15) I wanted an A-line bob that was chin length and I wanted my hair colored. I had black bra length hair with about 3 inches of root growth which is 90% gray. I had pictures as reference (I knew it wouldn't be exact, it was just a reference point) after 6 hours I left with the back of my hair 3 inches from the crown down. My top and sides were all one length down to my chin. The manager was constantly there and checking on me... my hair was gray at the roots and my hair that had been black was know n orangey color. I looked hideous. I left without paying and not onl will I never step foot in the salon, I will never shop at Penny's ever, my dad has an excellent credit rating and very high limit card with Penny's. Hes cancelled it and we are done with the company... the manager never tried to stop her or help (the manager even asked me what I wanted when I first got there) they ruined my hair. This is the worse haircut place!!!! Run as quick as you can from here. They messed my husband's hair up so bad that it looked like a two year old cut it and to boot they actually charged him $18. JcPennys needs to send all there stylist back to beauty school how they made it out is truly a miracle because they don't know how to cut hair.
