A nice JCPenney store overall with plenty of options. I wasn't sure who is staff and who wasn't as nobody seemed to have a name tag or any indication that they worked here. I do want to make a point though when going to the restrooms in this store how filthy the men's and ladies doors are. Door should never get this filthy in any store and that is the manager that should oversee that. When one area of the store looks filthy it makes you think that the entire place is hiding a lot more filth. read more

What happened to this store?? It looks like a hurricane touched down. Very few employees, the clearance area gave me a headache to look at. We stopped to pick up shorts for my mother in law, the only ones they had were clearance, we finally found three pair, then couldn't find a check out, they are all on the north west side of the store, very inconvenient. The poor lady at the register only spoke about five words of English, turns out pink tags were buy one, get one free today. No signage, no one mentioned it until we were at the register. No thank you, I am not going back to dig thru that mess to find something else. This store is giving JCPenney a very bad name. read more

Walking in I saw 2 sales associates! Great sign! But, they were complaining about something and didn't even know we passed by. We were on a mission so we headed to the shoe section and, the signage was confusing and there wasn't an employee to be found in the over 25 minutes we tried on shoes. Slowest service ever? We waited in a returns line for over 20 minutes while the one girl working the register disappeared for 15 of that and the line kept growing longer. Online returns are only accepted at one counter. And there's no employees around in the store able to assist at all. On a Black Friday weekend, you should have more employees in your store to assist, not just two who move slow and disappear while your trying to make a return. (Our return was also because JCPenney sent us the incorrect online order) read more

This is an older location and very old. It seems that they are fixing it up one section a a time. They always seem to have plenty of inventory. There is a small corner where they hide all the clearance stuff. There is no real order to it, mostly because its priced below product cost and they are just trying to get ride of it at this point. I like to look at their kitchen stuff also have cool stuff to see. They have a lot of window treatments here. The photo department is pretty good just because of their pricing. You can find a good deal for them on Groupon usually and the photos get delivered rather quickly. read more

I have bought the curtains, drapes, hardware, specialty blinds etc. at JCPenney my entire life. Last year I ordered a plantation shutter to finish off this house I purchased and it was installed terribly. Then I go yesterday to order curtains and the people there don't know anything about anything. Even another customer came up and had a question about a split king sheets and both people were lost with the question in the couple walked away. I have made my last purchase with them and will be getting my curtains and hardware elsewhere. What a shame because in that department they had the same employees for over 10 years and they were super. I wish I knew where they went for I would go there. read more

I went to check on my online order and they were SUPER RUDE!!!!! They said they could not do anything about it and kept brushing me away for NO REASON !!!! I just wanted to check on the status of my order... and they kept saying for me to go to the backpack aisle for myself, when I did the workers there told me I had to go back to customer service so I did... My boyfriend had bought a food saver from JcPenneys. I recently went back to return it because it wasn't working. Unfortunately he didn't have the receipt. I didn't want a refund. I wanted a replacement. But the only thing they offered was $ 27.00 on a gift card. He payed 100.00. They said that was management. They couldn't do anything about it. But how do they think that is justified? They kept his 73.00 and the food saver. Which they could fix. I'm so disgusted with that store. I will never shop there again. read more

Whenever I visit the Melbourne Square Mall, this is usually the first store I visit. It's the first store in the far west side, I like to start here and work my way across the mall. Overall this store has what you'd expect to find at any other JC Penny. As far as men's clothing goes, I think they have the best selection of pants. Whether it's jeans, khakis or dress pants. The shirts here don't interest me as much. I'm not a big fan of the bright colored polo shirts. I know most Floridians are, but I don't consider myself one, I'm a New Yorker! If you're into that style, I'm sure you'll be find yourself like a kid in a candy store. I don't buy (nor wear) women's clothing, so I can only give you an assessment based on my observation (and no, I don't come here to stare at women). I seems like most of the female customers are older women, so I'm guessing the styles of women's clothing does not appeal to teen girls and younger women. The women's underwear section is usually crowded (and no, I don't come her to stare at women holding panties), so I'm guessing at least the prices for them are good. I've also purchased curtains from them. I brought in my window measurements and they helped me choose fabric, color and styles, as well as the curtain rods. If you're at the Melbourne Square mall, it's definitely a store you should check out. read more

I went to the JCPenney store in the Melbourne Square Mall, Melbourne FL. I was shocked when I could not find a sales person to remove a watch from the display case. I didn't require any more assistance, as I found the watch I wanted. The one employee I did fine told me that someone else will be by to help me. I waited about ten minutes before I just left. I believe that JCPenney simply has too much business to bother with my petty little purchase, so I'll spend my money elsewhere and don't need to return. I don't even know why I even waste my money at the store the quality of the clothing is not even worth a waste of time. You're lucky to be able to find somebody to help you even if you have a question. And then if you find somebody they seem annoyed to even talk to you or even be at work. I always give him another shot but 3rd Strike is an out. I will not be going back to this place ever again. I just don't see why it's so hard for people to answer a simple question about a product when they're the ones that are working there and that are supposed to help. I get most of my answers online when I'm there anyway because it seems to be nicer. Not everybody is going to have the same experience but my experience is always been bad. The clothes are nice, prices are high, and twice now the cashier has forgotten to take the ink cartridges off my clothes forcing me to drive all the way back out with the receipt to get them off. Make sure you check the clothes before you leave because the employees don't seem to. read more

I don't know why I am even bothering with reviewing this store because it seems like the last postings are very old. I went into Penneys' last Friday to pay off my account, Thursday about 3pm. There was no one at any register in the entire store except at the very back customer service area where you pick up the online orders. The sales person was most unhappy, maybe she had a long day. Two other employees were near the register chatting it up, ignoring the line that was starting to form at the register. Penneys says how hard they are trying to give a new image, to breathe life into a store. The best way to do this is Customer Service. Have people available for people actually want to spend their money at the store. And if by some miracle you do have a line at a register, have more than one sad employee to ring them up. Ask a customer if they need help finding something, is that so hard to do? I was actually going to buy a pair of sneakers, but could find no one to ask what the price was, so they lost out on a $60 sale. I went shopping at JCPenney's one evening because I had a 25% off coupon for signing up their email club. I went to the register to check out with my items and presented the coupon to the cashier ...she could not honor the coupon due to there being no barcode. I ask for a manager hoping that maybe the manager would honor the coupon. They definitely did not honor their coupon ..which is fine. The worst part about the whole situation is the way that I was treated treated by the two cashiers as well as the manager. The cashier Marianne should not be in a customer service job. I literally left the store and went and cried due to the way I was treated. I like to go shopping because I enjoy it and it's fun for me. Those three women were nothing but bullies and I will never shop again at JCPenney's. I can only hope and pray that the store closes down due to the way they treat customers and people . read more

I recently visited their new Sephora cosmetic department. I was shocked1 The sales personnel were rude, arrogant and actually told they weren't interested in customer's opinions. 'We do things that we like' was what I was told by a sales associate when I asked why men's and women's colognes / perfumes were mixed in a display.
