I went to pick up an online order today at the pickup/return counter, and there was only one girl working at the counter with about 20 people in line. All I have to say is to never go to JCPenney Salon in Carolina Malls in Concord NC! If you do get your hair done by certain hairstylist you will regret it! These hairstylists not have experience nor knowledge about certain grade of hair and need more training. I should have walked out the door when this stylist didn't even shampoo my hair it didn't have a sweet smell to it. But I didn't leave cause my hair was wet and didn't know how to style it at home. I'm very pissed off at the fact the store manager Sharon had got rude when I corrected her about the bad services I had received from the stylist. And to make the situation even worse the general manager Chrissy started getting rude and lying about the products that I didn't even see the stylist used on my hair. She said they don't show the customer the products! Are they crazy or what? I want to see what a stylist is applying on my hair! They could be putting a relaxer when my hair is natural! Honestly, I wasn't even going to leave a review. I was too angry at the time. I scheduled a hair appointment a few months back. I showed up and the woman scheduled to do my hair said she couldn't do my kind of haircut, that no one else was available and told me to reschedule. I was pretty polite about all of it - I didn't want to make a scene, certainly - and I left. Not sure what's so challenging about my haircut but I guess a simple wash, cut, and blow was beyond their ability at the time. Never experienced that before. Would have been nice to know before I drove over there and waited. My time is limited, I can't reschedule on a whim for something this basic. Never going back there again. Maybe you shouldn't either unless you want to roll the dice. Maybe they can do your type of hair. read more

Yesica Brenda and Ana are the most unprofessional customer service representative I've ever encountered. All clerks including superviors laughed. I hope no other customers encountered this horrible experience. I was standing in between columns with no signage assuming I would be next in line at the register on the right since there was already people on register at the left. Instead Ana rudely asked if there is something she could help me with while calling for another customer. I didn't appreciate the laughs or embrassment from them at all. Store is horrible. The salon is every worse! The staff are NOT PERSONABLE!!! I went to the salon to get some extensions because my personal stylist was booked. I needed my hair done ASAP. So I went here. WORST DECISION EVER. The stylist didn't even cut my hair right, didn't even use a cap for my extensions, and was 15 minutes late! BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. So I ended up calling the STORE MANAGER to get her to fix my hair, let me name and phone number, nobody NEVER returned my call. How professional! I was told the manager was going to be in at 2:00p, I called at 1:30p. And never got a call back. So word of advice, avoid the salon. I walked around today and there is a bed that has comforters just thrown all over it. The workers y'all so loud and across the store to each other. JCPenney used to be a large store that was vital to so many Americans. I bet about 80% of the clothes I wore growing up came from this store as I grew up in a smaller city in the Northwest US. However, Wal-Mart, Target and others have beat them up for years. I know they have had some serious strategic issues recently and are trying to stay alive and even relevant in today's economy. As I needed some inexpensive, everyday pants, I decided to stop by as this is a convenient location for me. The store is clean and seems organized. There was an employee working in the area that I was shopping, but she was busy when by me the first time and simply smiled the second. She could see that I was searching for something as I kept trying to find my size. I left and then purchased a couple pants from their website. It used to be a good store. Now I only come here when I have a $10 off $10 coupon. Even then, it can be hard to find something worth getting here. A $10 off $25 coupon has SO MANY exclusions; you can't use the coupon on everything... at Kohl's for example, the same kind of coupon DOES allow you to get anything in the store... no exclusions. This review is for the Salon! I started coming to the Salon in October. The service was just okay for me...I soon found out that the stylists don't have any idea what they're doing. I really only wanted my roots done, nothing too complicated. I did get a couple of trims from 2 different stylists and they couldn't even do that right. I went back yesterday in hopes of getting a Chi Enviro (keratin treatment). In all of the times that I've been to this particular salon, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO SIGN A WAIVER! Well they tried to get my daughter and myself to sign away the fact that if they fuck up our hair, they wouldn't be held responsible. We walked out....NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS JCP SALON ever! I went to the salon in Pearland with the decision to go for low lights to blend in with my grey hair. The manager of the salon recommended that the hairstylist suggest I remove the hair color from my hair to left the dye to go back to grey. I realized that I was not well-informed about this process, because profit takes precedent over doing the right thing. My hair was reddish/orange after all was said and done, and I am dealing with a sore scalp from all the product applied to my hair in two days. I paid $90 for this madness. I went back for correction, and it was still a disaster, so I paid $107 plus tip. Over $200. Never again.This serves as a cautionary tale. It is ok to go for a wash, style, and trim, but nothing else beyond that. I won't be returning. read more

My experience is somewhat different. I was actually pleased with the product, but thoroughly displeased with sales consultant Durelle G. Brown. After the draperies were installed, the installer and I noticed a rip in the fabric. He apologized and stated he will speak to Mrs. Brown about reordering. Spoke with Mrs. Brown who stated she would reorder (hadn't at the time and it was already 3 weeks later). Anyway, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and didn't hear anything for more than a month so I called JC Penney decorating (800 number) and was told Mrs. Brown was no longer employed there and that she should have reassigned this reorder to her replacement. She didn't and now its been two months. There is nothing wrong with "moving on" to seek better employment but don't leave your "mess" behind. It speaks volumes. read more

The worst place to purchase appliances. Customer service representatives should be customer-oriented and understanding of issues rather than placing blame on customers. Ordered an appliance and nearly a month and several customer service interactions later, delivery was made. The delivery people were great. To add, an additional charge for the said appliance on the delivery date for the appliance again. A refund was requested for the double charge only to be informed by two JCP employees, we need to resolve the additional charge with our financial institution. Wow. read more

This is for the salon. I have natural hair, wanted a flat iron and trim. The stylist COMBED THE LIFE OUT OF MY HAIR! OMG! She raked through it while it was dry, combed it when it was wet, raked through it again after it was dry again. Not to mention she blow dried it, put me under a hooded dryer, then hot combed it, AND THEN flat ironed it! Some of ends were straight after I wet it a few days later. The manager was very rude and refused to listen to issues. I experienced several problems. First, I found a dress that had no tag. The employee I found just told me to look around, all dresses are on sale. When I asked her to please find me the price, she reluctantly went looking. 10 minutes later, she said she could not do it and the person helping her could not either. I told her to forget. When I finally checked out, all three items did not ring up correctly. Reluctantly, they gave me they price, once I showed what it was scanning on my phone. Then the coupon $10 of $10 did not work correctly (my total was over $10, so it should have been fine). The cashier would not do anything about that. So her thank you but I don't want them now. I walked out, and walked right back in wanting to talk to the manager. The cashier tried calling her over, but she would not come over. When I went to her, she just told me to leave and that they were closing. I said I just need to talk to her. She refused. When I told her I would be contacting the company she did not care.
