I had a horrible experience with this establishment years ago and I am actually surprised they are still in business.
It this was posted on Reddit by me years ago, so decided to post it on yelp so people know to stay away.
On February 16, 2013, I entered the Qwashae Boutique Pearland, TX. in the Pearland Town Shopping Center. I encountered, at the time, a rather polite and bubbly saleswoman, named Erica. I was looking for something for myself since my birthday was coming up and I wanted something nice for my party. The store did not have a very big selection and was VERY expensive. The saleswoman sensing my hesitation on two dresses I could not decide between from their sale rack, offered me a first time customer discount if I signed up for their newsletter. I went with the hooded ABS Allen Schwartz Hooded Striped Metallic dress for $89.99 with tax $96.75. She said she could not apply the discount on less than $100. I found that odd since she never mentioned this before. She ran my card once as credit and it did not go through so she asked me to do it again as debit and I did. I punched in my pin and left the store.
At NO TIME during or BEFORE the transaction did she mention an ALL SALES FINAL policy. I was going to meet a friend for lunch and needed to retrieve so items from GNC and began walking to the store. I was still hesitant about this purchase and googled the dress online. I came to a page that listed the dress on Bloomingdales.com for $52. Shocked that I just paid almost double this amount I promptly turned around and brought the dress back, Less than 15 minutes later.
I explained the situation to the EXACT same saleswoman even showing her the page and she stated they are a business and have the right to charge what the like. I said I would just like a refund she offered to give me the cheaper dress and a store credit for the other portion of what I paid. Since I saw that they charge SOO much more than other stores that did not make me comfortable and I asked just for a refund and she said well we do not give refunds and pulled a small framed, calligraphy written sign that says no refund from BEHIND the counter. I explained I understood if I brought the dress back hours, days, or even weeks later but this is not even 20 minutes later. She said no refunds and rather than argue because I am an adult and so was she I said I would have my bank cancel the charge. She looked at me as I began to dial the bank and said ma'am you need to leave. I asked her why and she stated I was rude because I was calling the bank and took the dress and receipt from me.
I tried to explain to her that she was being unreasonable and very rude as the face of the business, saleswoman and as a person. I was trying to take the high road and she wanted an argument. Someone who also worked for the establishment walked in the store and walked to the back then began to come out as I was talking to the woman degrading my character for trying to resolve the issue without a confrontation. To THIS day i am STILL fighting with my bank and the establishment. (Update: I eventually got a this refunded by my bank.)
I called the store again today and she actually had the audacity to say that this happened to me because of my choices. I am thinking yeah because I was dumb enough to EVER walk in that store. And she felt the need to belittle me when I called again to try and work this out by saying that I was combative because I did not accept a store credit or because I did not get ghetto with her and did not make a spectacle and argue with her. Maybe if I did I would have my money. NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE! People like Erica are why people do not support small businesses.
