In full disclosure, I experienced bumps along the way with JDI. The bumps were related to delays in the timeline and difficulty with communications. Following a meeting where I brought up the issues, JDI promptly made changes to compensate for extra costs from the delay. I commend JDI for always being conscientious of the budget and running an honest business. After our meeting with JDI regarding the issues we saw, Eric Ryaplov came on board as the project manager, and he proved to be a great asset for both JDI and us. Eric is a great communicator, and he always promptly responded to my emails, including the weekends. I also felt he was good at keeping a birds eye view on the project, being able to anticipate any potential source of delay and getting in front of it. I had a great experience overall, and I would certainly recommend JDI, and Eric as a project manager. JDI also provided excellent warranty after conclusion of the project. Eric made it a point to walk through the house a few weeks after we moved in to catch anything that needed adjustment or repair. Anything that I found later were also quickly addressed and with no hassle. This includes subsidence of a glass shower door, which had to be replaced and must have been considerable expense. Summary: We had the best experience getting our bathroom remodeled with this company! JDI is a family-run company that exceeded expectations for both quality as well as process (e.g., timely, helpful, and friendly communication as well as adhering to the timeline and the budget). Also, they didn't do any of the scammy things (e.g., high-pressure sales tactics) that other companies that we considered did. We will definitely use JDI again and we cannot recommend them highly enough! ----------- *Quality of the work Our original bathroom was poorly lit, had a dysfunctional layout, and had some major quirks (e.g., the floor not being level so you feel unbalanced when you sit on the toilet). Our new bathroom is well-designed and absolutely stunning!! After listening to our vision of how we would like the bathroom to be transformed and our timeline & budgetary constraints, JDI proposed a big picture plan of how to reconfigure the bathroom. They told us that we actually do have a sizable space for a bathroom and that if the layout was reconfigured, this would be a highly functional and standard bathroom layout. We upgraded to a much larger shower that has a window for natural light, a great shower head fixture they recommended, and four angled storage shelves for ample storage for all of my hair products! We splurged on a fancy vanity and a mirrored, lighted medicine cabinet over the sink (where the original window used to be), which dramatically increased our storage space! The small toilet was replaced with an elongated design and was positioned between the vanity & the shower; it was also rotated so that your feet are both at the same angle and thus it doesn't feel like you are unbalanced when you sit down anymore! The tile work is absolutely gorgeous - the different tile shapes added visual interest (subway in the shower & hexagon on the floor) but they were cohesive because they're both white. The glossy black baseboard tiles made the whole bathroom look polished because it visually connected the black shower frame and the black transition between bathroom & kitchen while also providing a nice way to marry the slightly different shades of white in the project that might otherwise contrast (e.g., alabaster white paint and the bright white hexagon tile)! I raised the concern about the marble countertop being porous so they sealed it for me. This bathroom is so beautiful that it feels like it belongs in a luxury hotel! The bathroom went from the biggest eyesore and a storage nightmare to our favorite room in the house. *Excellent communication: Our project manager, Alex, coordinated with various team members (e.g., the tile installer, the drywall crew, the plumber), who were all in-house team members, I might add! He let me know when to expect the crew at the house via text the night before as well as via the BuilderTrend app (which has a calendar and a daily log; see screenshots). Alex handled any issues I texted him about quickly and he did regular site visits to check on things more proactively. They thoughtfully helped us make the best decisions (e.g., deciding whether to level the whole floor or just the shower area; choosing a color of grout that looks neat and is low-maintenance). Having renovated 4 homes in 4 decades, my wife & I are not new to the process. Our design plans required taking our dated kitchen down to the studs, changing the awkward footprint, building custom cabinetry, and installing new appliances. We got 3 bids, all of which were within our budget. But JDI had a plan to finish the job in 2 months, while the others required 3-4 months to complete. JDI's schedule was agressive, but seemed doable. Their project mgr, Eric, was very buttoned-up and a good communicator. His crews were on time and, when necessary, worked on weekends to stay on schedule. They are true craftsmen and our kitchen is beautiful! I'm so glad we chose them! read more

It turned out beautiful and functional, from design to completion. Is JDI perfect? No, but easy to work with and honest.
