I should have listened to the reviews, but against my better judgement, I purchased a transmission for my work car from these guys, because it was cheap. Horrible mistake, because I learned quickly why they were so cheap. The transmission I bought had a piece broken off of it that I noticed when swapping out the brackets, hoses, and other parts necessary for a typical JDM swap. The piece that was broken off was the protrusion that holds the pressure switch, so it's not something that can be fixed because the ATF under pressure would break the piece again and blow out transmission fluid immediately. This was a clearly BROKEN transmission. I called them, and would have gladly just taken a replacement transmission for the transmission that I had not even put into the car yet. Any legitimate business would gladly offer an exchange of the same part for a broken part they unknowingly sold. But not this business.... They insisted I open my transmission case, take the back part of the case off, and swap it onto the broken transmission. Keep in mind that the transmission case holds gears, rods, and seals in place and I'd often shimmed. This is NOT a part that should have to be swapped with any JDM trans swap. This was a BROKEN CASE. I swapped the back part of the case just because I didn't want to cause conflict and didn't have time to argue with them. When i finished the swap, I drove the car easy, let it warm up, and filled it to the correct level of Honda ATF. But it was junk. It would not shift into overdrive and it lurched and jerked into the other gears. I did not want to drive it, because I probably wouldn't make it home. I called them and told them and they STILL only offered a replacement if I took it to a shop and had complete diagnostics ran on it. This is nothing more than a stall and discouragement tactic for a crooked company. Who is going to pay $500 and risk having a breakdown driving to a mechanic to be able to get a replacement $350 transmission for a transmission that is obviously defective? No one. And they know that. Anyway, I am filing a lawsuit against them and I STRONGLY discourage anyone from buying from this company. Use a reputable eBay JDM supplier and have peace of mind. These guys sell junk and have terrible customer service. Just look at the other reviews. read more

jdm midwest is a very bad place to try to do business with. i filled out their paperwork online. i called this place and told them i was coming to pay cash for the engine. i was on my way up to buy the engine and while i was on my way up to pick up the engine jdm called the shop and told the owner of the shop they just sold the motor. i would never do business with this group of idiots! warning stay away from this business!!!! read more

Terrible Customer Service. I bought an engine from the owner directly. After paid for it. I took of work to go get the engine. I told the owner it was a 3 hour drive from my house and I asked if there was someone I could contact incase I get stuck in traffic. He said no and that he was closing at 4pm. The site and the sign outside says they close at 5pm. After the owner took my money he literally was going to let me drive 3 hour and leave. Also the engine was a piece of crap and stopped working conveniently right after their short warranty. Now I have a broken engine and had to buy a new one. read more

They required me to pay shipping back for a defective unit, utilized my shipper to send another unit to save themselves shipping costs on their defective warranty unit, and the second unit as seen in the video was defective too. Was told at my cost I could ship it back for yet another, or at my cost ship it back and be refunded on a percentage of the original sale, netting me in the end .. spending $1480.00 and having nothing to show. Would you buy a $1400 engine from a company that would later deny ever doing business with you? Hint: Check all the google reviews, and look for "Thanks for you (sic) feedback however we are unable to verify any of the information you have described nor can we locate your name in a client database." There are over a dozen of them and they cut and paste the same answer every time. Would you do business with a company that you had to drive a 250 mile round trip to find you had purchased an overheated and abused engine then have the choice of losing 35% of your TOTAL bill including tax or taking another one that might have the same issues? They actually get a bit over than 37% because they do not pay the sales tax to the state that they charged you. Very deceptive unless you happen to be a bit math minded. Would you do business with a company that denies there is anything wrong with an engine that has over ¼" of hard carbon in the cylinder head and tells you to go ahead and install it then worry about returning it later if you have a problem? Two ASE certified mechanics and a machine shop told me not to waste my time installing it. Who would add another 25 hours of time only to end up back in the same position? If I had any idea that would happen I would not either, and I certainly would not recommend you do either. Their manager was literally laughing at me when I told him that 35% of the total bill was exorbitant, and told me that it was perfectly legal. Legal maybe, but certainly immoral and unethical. After reading the rest of the google reviews, I deeply regret ever having done business at this place. I am probably lucky they only took $521.85 from me. If I had not popped the valve cover I might not have noticed and installed a motor in worse shape than the one I took out. Notice also that somehow I was charge $91 tax on something I never received.
