Let down on Valentines Day.
My girlfriend was travelling in the local area on business from the UK and, unfortunately, I wasn't able to spend Valentine's Day with her. I had waited three days for her Hotel to respond to me, to confirm that I could have flowers sent to her room, but they did not reply, so I ordered anyway in the hope that she would get them.
On the morning of Valentine's day I looked through about seven local flower shops and only JE Flower Shop had the option for a delivery on the same day, so I placed a $70 order for some really nice flowers at around 3:30pm GMT, which should be 10:30am local time.
I received a payment confirmation email, but no other emails throughout the day to say that the order had been processed.
After speaking with my girlfriend I had found out that she didn't receive anything, so the next day I asked for an update on the order. After a few hours I found that my girlfriend was going to leave the hotel at mid day and move elsewhere, so I asked for the order to be cancelled and refunded.
Around 28 hours later I received an automated refund email.
Since then I have heard nothing, but the money has been returned to me.
This company did not even have the decency to send me a hand-written email to apologise for not delivering on the day.
I looked around on the site and found a snippet of text that suggested to order the day before for busy periods, however, this was not made clear on the website unless specifically looking for it in their help pages and if delivery was not possible, then the site should not have allowed me to select the same day.
Every other site in the area had disallowed me from selecting the same day, so it is perfectly possible for JE Flower Shop's site to also do the same. If this had been the case, I could have found an alternative, but instead I was not able to do anything for my girlfriend on our first Valentine's Day.
At the very least I had expected an apologetic email, but apparently they are too busy to spare even 90 seconds to do this.
Thank you for your poor website and poor customer service. read more
