My wife had an appointment scheduled with the covered dentist but was informed during the appointment that he had left Maplewood. Subsequently Maplewood billed the insurance with an out of network dentist. No prior notice was given. Absolutely unprofessional and unethical. We will never be back.

Terrible experience with both the cleaning, the imaging, the communication to get my imaging from them to my new "accredited" dentist, so when two weeks past and I didn't get my release form to sign, I drove there. Luckily I stood there until she actually sent my X-rays because she turned around and said to me, "I'm sorry, we have to buy a software before sending any imaging" WHAT?! Not even acceptable. Off course it is more expensive as well but bedside manner is important to me. Last time I was there, a dark haired rather terse woman working at reception asked me for drivers license. I showed it to her but she wanted me to hand it over for copying. She had not asked my permission but rather rudely informed me that they need to copy my DL. Why? She had no answer but another person came forward & told her that it's enough to see the ID. She continued to argue but I held my ground. My insurance company informed me later that they do NOT require this. In fact they are more concerned about the dental office charging for services not provided. So I should get itemized copy & watch out for what's being charged to me. I know four other people who are "customers" of Dr Morris. None were treated in this manner. I felt very insulted by the discrimination & rudeness by this woman. No one at that practice had been rude to me before so it was indeed a shock. Perhaps Dr Morris need to hire better trained people with public relations skill. I am a paying customer who always try to be extra polite to the staff there. I expect the same courtesy back to me.

The staff are extremely friendly, know me by name, and treat me like family. Everyone is always smiling. They all seem genuinely happy to work there and serve their patients, which is rare in healthcare. Sure, going to the dentist can be a pain (sometimes literally), but I can't imagine how it could be any better than here.

I found Pleasant Smiles online and from the very start it was, indeed, a pleasant experience! Tammy at the front, who normally is at the Hudson location, was wonderful about going over the paperwork and my insurance as well as scheduling me my next appointment. Lisa, my dental hygienist, was so kind and patient/understanding of my dental needs before, during, and after the procedure. And, Dr. Avvaru was the best dentist I have ever worked with. She explained my situation thoroughly, checked on me repeatedly during the procedure, and made sure I was comfortable with what was going to take place. I already have a cleaning appointment scheduled, and will be returning to see Dr. Avvaru and her staff for my future dental needs. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone needing dental services, especially if you're uneasy about seeing a dentist or haven't been in awhile!
