He told me how he "worked" was to get some more information from me about the vehicles and that he needed to come sit down with me and my HUSBAND in order to explain the coverage to us. He was very emphatic (3X) that my husband needed to be present. He was very condescending the way he spoke to me like it was a child. It came across very arrogant. After listening to him go on, because he dominated the conversation so that I couldn't get a word in edgewise, I was finally able to find a space to interject and tell him that my HUSBAND DIED 7 years ago. I also told him that when I was married to him for 18 years that he fully trusted me to handle simple business like shopping for auto insurance. At this point, I guess he realized how foolish he sounded and told me "Ma'am, I just don't think we will be able to do business together", and hung up the phone. First of all, without addressing the obvious, there is no reason to come to my home to sell me car insurance. We buy insurance all the time nowadays online. He obviously wanted to sell me other policies. I have had insurance with them long ago, and never once did they come to my house to sell it to me. It felt very demanding and intrusive. I cannot even begin to explain how archaic this business model is, not to mention the obvious insinuation that I needed my husband present to make big decisions like car insurance. He assumed I was married also which was very ignorant and insensitive. Are single or widowed women allowed to buy auto policies at Farm Bureau? Reported him to the main office in Waco. I'm still reeling...unbelievable. Mad now...but a bit amused by the absurdity of the conversation.

Then I was offered a policy by another company that was cheaper and I foolishly switched. Sure that new policy was a little cheaper, but I got NO personal service and when I had to make a claim, what a headache and nobody to help with the issues that came up. When my home turned into income property the new company did not offer a product for that need. Beal and Winn did. So I am back with them and oh so sorry I had ever left. You just can't beat their quality of service and products.

Russ and his staff have always made these tasks as painless as possible. Even following up to make sure everything came out okay. He even takes the time to personally review the policy to make sure it will help you, the customer, more by making some minor adjustments (with your permission of course!!). I also enjoy the relaxed conversations with him. It helps make the stressful times a lot better knowing that everything is being taken care of!

After a while, the answer was always...."there is nothing better than you already have". It has come to the point where I am a senior citizen, I drive less than 50 miles a day, no tickets in over a decade, no DUI EVER, no at fault accidents in over 25 years a single filing for a broken windshield THIS CENTURY. YET...the best rate that can be found is near $1000 every 6 months (and it was ME that found IT). I was very impressed with Liere in my first few years but they became complacent and were just fine with spending my money as the insurance companies TOLD THEM. You might try them for a year or two but be prepared to move on after that unless you want to be at the mercy of the insurance Czars.
