This complaint concerns a highly inconsistent and questionable pricing practice that has significantly undermined my trust in your firm. I was quoted twice--approximately two weeks apart--for the exact same tax return, using identical information and documentation. During both interactions, I was asked the same questions and provided the same answers, following the same checklist provided by your firm. Despite this, the second quote was over $200 higher than the original. Additionally, I was told the price could increase by another $50 after review. This raises serious concerns. If your firm requires a full review of documents to determine final pricing, then initial quotes should not be presented as reliable or meaningful. Conversely, if quotes are intended to reflect the actual cost based on known information, then there should not be such a large and unexplained discrepancy between two identical submissions. What is particularly troubling is that your representative acknowledged that pricing may fluctuate weekly. This suggests a lack of standardized pricing and creates the impression that fees are arbitrary rather than based on the actual work required. Clients should not be subjected to unpredictable pricing for the same service, especially when no new or additional information has been introduced. I chose your firm based on recommendations and its reputation for professionalism. However, this experience has been frustrating and has raised doubts about transparency and fairness in your billing practices. A difference of this magnitude for the same tax return is not minor--it is significant and unacceptable without a clear, detailed explanation. I am requesting a formal clarification of: Why two quotes for the exact same return differ by over $200 What specific factors caused the increase, despite no change in information Whether your firm has a standardized pricing structure or if fees are subject to change without consistency Clear, consistent, and transparent pricing is a basic expectation. Without it, it is difficult to move forward with confidence in your services. I expect a prompt and detailed response addressing these concerns. read more

Jeff's assistant phoned me back and asked me to send them some of my family finance information. It sounded improper and unprofessional as I know nothing about Jeff Huang and his firm with no conversation before. I believe that nobody would send their private finance information to a stranger. After few minutes simple talk with Jeff's assistant who told me that Jeff would contact me later. I never heard from them. This is strictly for the level of service I got from the receptionist. I wanted to schedule a basic tax return with two w2's and no write offs, pretty basic. I was given a price estimate which I was fine with. She told me that they wouldn't be able to file my taxes the same day of my scheduled appointment. When I questioned why since I generally have a basic tax return, she questioned why I wanted to use a CPA to file since it was more basic. I stated if she was telling me not to use their services, I'll take the hint. I'm incredibly confused why they don't want hundreds of dollars to do a fairly basic tax return. read more

JHG handles our payroll, facilitate our 401k, pay our monthly bills, calculate and pay our quarterly tax payments, and run our income tax statements.
