While it is truly a "seller's market" at this time for this particular vehicle (high demand!), Austin did all he could to get us rolling -fairly- in this fantastic car. It's Buyer Beware at this place! We were new-car buyer newbies and boy did they see us coming. We were fortunate to get away from there. They should require all employees to wear masks. We wanted to buy a $30k car and by the time they were finished it was a $40k car! Oh the finance woman will say, "we're completely transparent!" About as transparent as Musk. During the process she'll explain the extras, but they are never called extras, because they've already added them without your consent! Had another great experience at the dealership. After i totaled my car within a month i had to buy another one. Abel from dealership was fantastic as usual. He helped me another car asap. He kept me informed and the best part is that he is always responsive. Great customer service again. The only thing that i didn't like was that Mazda did not give me a loyalty credit because i had the accident before i could register the car. I still paid off the car. I arrived at a deal with the dealership for a new car that was arriving in the next few weeks. I was to put a $500 deposit down and pay the balance when it arrived . This happened late on 8/8. When I called back on 8/9 . The policy had mysteriously been canceled on 8:8 at 5:30 pm , or directly after our deal, and I could no longer reserve the incoming vehicle. I had the texts between myself and the salesperson explaining our deal in detail and they still refused to honor it. I think it's quite clear that since I was "only" paying full MSRP, that they saw the opportunity to charge a premium and canceled our deal. The funny thing is that we live within 3 miles of the dealership and all scheduled maintenance would have been done there. So they gave up all that future revenue as well as losing me and anyone in my family as a future customer over a couple thousand dollars. Service was good. Advisor was good. They could improve the wait area with more seats and or bigger area with the advisor. Then other thing not against dealership as much as Mazda it's self. I think transmission service should be done more often than they suggest it you wait to change it till the car has problems. The more likely a transmission fluid change won't fix the problem. Spent over $200 in parts to get my NB Miata ready to rip! Seth was polite and accommodating when completing my order. When I got home I realize that the bolts I needed to complete the work were not in my box of parts. Strike one. I called the next day and Seth said he would ship the parts out to me for $10. Much to my surprise they promptly arrived the next day! But they were the wrong bolts. Strike 2. So I called back (didn't catch the employees name) to straighten things out. They charged me $55 for the "correct" parts but they won't be available until next week. The price they quoted me was with the employee discount. They said they would credit me for the wrong parts if I brought them back. This would cost me an hours worth of time and 2 gallons of gas. Strike 3. I realize I payed for the wrong parts but come on guys! Not only am I left without the parts, I need to pay extra for the right parts and can't complete the maintenance this weekend as I had planned. This place was skeevy. My husband and I were looking for a new Mazda 3. We made it clear to the salesman that we were looking at different cars and comparing, and we were nowhere near ready to buy. When we asked about numbers, he took us to his desk and had the manager write up a purchase agreement with a $1500 interior/exterior cleaning upgrade and $3900 in taxes for a $24000 car (wth?? My tax rate is 7.5%!) and handed it to me like I was supposed to sign it. I also kept explaining to the salesman that we needed to leave so my husband could go to work and he was unconcerned about our schedule. Didn't have the exact car I wanted but found one at another dealer and charged me $350 to pick it up. When the car arrived, I was shocked to find my "new" car had 418 miles. They hadn't "picked it up" but had already driven it over 400 miles from the other dealer. So much for the new car experience. Hard to rate my experience, because I had a mixed bag. I settled on 3 star as an average, The good (5 stars): The car. Purchased a Mazda 3, and it is everything I hoped it would be. Great car, drives like a dream, good economy, good power, some really nice features you only find on vehicles in a much higher class. The sales rep. Gabe was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, though I do not think he effectively communicated or championed my budget with his manager. (See below). The bad (3 stars): The experience. I went in pre-approved and had a price in mind to fit my budget. This was promptly ignored as I was pulled and twisted into a direction I was not prepared for. Admittedly, I should of been more firm and even had the courage to walk away, but this day and age I just did not expect such old fashioned high pressure sales. Car buying has evolved, but you wouldn't know it at Jeff Schimdt Mazda. I ended up paying MSRP, with no effort made to offer me a better price, even though I clearly indicated I was there because I saw a lower price. (See below). The ugly (1 star): Prices on the website are very deceptive. The discounted "sale" prices shown are only for customers that quality for certain rebates or discounts, but this is not made clear at all. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the web page, but you only see if it you are on an individual car's page, and only if you scroll down to look, as there is nothing to indicate a disclaimer applies (such as an asterisk after the price, for example). The sales staff are very quick and adept at navigating you around that price, so it almost feels as it is just a hook to get you in. I was sold on a Mazda 3 before I even walked in the door, but if I had to do it all over again, I would walk away if I had to endure a similar process. read more

Very very pushy sales person! Saw the only woman sales person they have. Went in for a test drive with my husband and ended up staying there for over an hour. She kept on telling us on how impressed her manager was with her and how she is the #1 sales person and that she will really go to bat for us if we want the Mazda (as she is trying to talk us out of a VW). And how she will market my business for me (I work for a major beverage company so that wouldn't do any good). I had to get up a leave telling my husband I wasn't feeling well. I purchased a used car from this Jeff Schmidt Mazda. It was the worst experience I've ever has with a car dealer. It took 4 hours and huge amount of tenacity to make them honor the price they posted on their website. Then they wanted to sell me a warranty that would have almost doubled the payment. They kept hidden all their numbers, percentage rates, cost of the warranty, etc. They systematically try to keep you in the dark and pressure, pressure, pressure you. Go somewhere else. read more

Saw the ad for my now new (used, 2012) car online and went in with a trucar price I was happy with. I also had a loan ready to go, but they worked to find a better loan and now I get to save some more money. I would say I don't think the ECP plan (interior protection) is worth the money I paid, but it's still early on to tell. I didn't feel duped but that if I were to do it again I think i'd have passed it up. I didn't feel too pressured either as other reviewers have stated. What ever you do DONT Go To JEFF SCHMITT. My daughter went there to buy a car a 2004 Grand Am he almost had her talked into buying a 2004, 4 Door Grand Am for 10,000 plus tax title and some other fee anyway it was going to cost her just over 13500 if I remember correctly it was a nice one owner car they took in on trade when she called me (Thank God she did) i asked her if she had already signed anything she said No I Told her NOT to sign a single Thing No Matter what the sales person said. That I would immediately head down there to meet her. Well long story short once I got there and started to negotiate the price. He just kept saying well we have to make something with the tone as if they wasn't going to make much at that price. LOL Anyway I looked up the trade in Value since he told me it was traded in by a older retired man yea right the (little old man/Woman story) I looked up the trade in value with those miles and options and it was less than $3,000 if I remember it was more like $2400 to $2600 anyway after test driving it and inspecting it I noticed it needed new tires so I asked for them to put on new tires. And then Remarkably he looked on there website because he JUST remembered they had that car in there website on Sale for a special they was running and remember all this time we was going back & forth on the price I started At $3,500 he would go to his sales Manager and come back to me with another number. Well when he had this stroke of genus to check their web site he said he would give me the internet price of $7500 yea right for an 04 Grand Am I don't think so so when he was out talking to his Mgr I told my daughter just follow my lead and don't show any emotions, so after that I was at $4500 he was at $6800 plus tax title ECT so I told him that I appreciated his time but I don't think we can come up to a price that's reasonable. So we got up and going out the door and was getting in our cars when his manager came out to stop us. And he asked if he could talk to us I said I would but I'm not going to waist much more of his time or mine. So I told him I would make one last offer. I told him if they put new tires on the car & I would go up to $5,000 out the door. He tried to squeeze me by saying the same thing his sales person tried he said "sir we have to make something on this car I to him I knew what the trade in value was and that I doubted they paid that much for it that if he couldn't come up to my last offer we would just go to the Auction on Tuesday and find her something. Well he finally agreed to my offer of $5,000 and new tires. I truly at that point didn't want to give them our business but my daughter really wanted that car it was a nice Grand Am W/ around 52000 miles & that was good it had a clean car fax etc even though I didn't want to give them our business I thought that was a fair deal somewhat on the high side but fair. So she bought it BUT IF I WOULDN'T have came down there to show her how to haggle with car sales people and to have some fax about it like when I got him to tell me how they got the car so I could look up the trade in value so I had something to go by then I AM SURE THEY WOULD OF LET MY DAUGHTER (who's a single Mom owing to school full time and working two jobs at the time) BUY THAT CAR FOR TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS PLUS ALL THE OTHER STUFF LIKE TAX& TITLE ETC WITH BAD TIRES THAT WAS WELL PAST NEEDING REPLACED. Do not use Jeff Schmitt's service department! I took my CX-9 to Jeff Schmitt to get a recall item checked out. The service person, Matt, was very rude. We waited forever only to find out that they wouldn't replace the part because the only way to tell if it was defective was to remove it and send it somewhere. And they wouldn't take the risk of having to pay for it. To add insult to injury, my car was sitting out front for more than 15 minutes while we continued to wait. My daughter kept saying that she thought it looked like our car, but I told her that they'd let us know when it was ready. I finally asked if it was ours and Matt said, "yes, are you ready?" Who knows how much longer we would have waited if I hadn't asked! I will never, ever go to Jeff Schmitt again! read more

Liars, liars, liars. I was looking for used Mazda5 and found a good option in Jeff Schmidt's listing. The only thing which worried me was a small black spot on the driver seat I've noticed on the photo - it looked like a cigarette burn. So I have called the dealer to confirm the availability, asked if the car is smoked and was assured that all their cars are non-smoking and the lady on the other side double-checked with the manager about that. So the next day I took a day-off and drove 60miles to see the car. My guess was right and the car was absolutely smoking. Sales guy and his manager looked very surprised when I let them know. They've said that their families are smoking and they don't feel the smell. I was told that they will place an ionizer in the car for 24 hours and the smell will go away forever. I'm sure they were aware of the car condition and that the smell will not go away. After doing some more research I've discovered that the car was listed about 2 weeks at that moment and during that time price dropped from 17999 to 14200. Big dealers never drop the price like that especially after they have invested in certification - they must have known that something is wrong with the vehicle. And also I don't believe they haven't tried the ionizer before dropping the price. All these lies shows the level of disrespect to the customers, willingness to get them in and have paid for the car whatever it takes. Buying used car you need to have a good level of trust to the dealer and these guys are in my personal black list forever. read more

I spent about two weeks shopping at other dealers closer to home trying to negotiate a better if not equivalent deal. It was during that time Paul Cade at Schmitt called often, assuring me we could make the deal I wanted and get the trade in value I wanted on a 2004 Ford Taurus. Long story short, I made the trip up there, got the car I wanted, got the deal I wanted and the rest is history! True to their word throughout the entire process. This is rare in this business. We knew we wanted another SUV--something similar to a new CX-9, Explorer, Enclave, Acadia, Pilot, etc. After test driving nearly everything in that class, we narrowed it down to a few--but couldn't find the combination of options and price we were comfortable with, and were ready to wait for it. Our sales person, Catherine, was very helpful and patient with my buying process. She listened to our needs and kept a healthy level of communication. When their Cadillac dealership got in a new-style Dodge Durango with all of the options we wanted, Catherine acted as our advocate to get the price and trade in value we wanted. She made us feel confident about the vehicle. She was helpful throughout the rest of the paperwork, and was never pushy or awkward (like other sales people) about add-ons or warranties--she respected my opinions and decisions. I found Jeff Schmitt Mazda in Beavercreek online. I was searching for a used MINI Cooper with an automatic transmission for my daughter's 16th birthday. We adored the little European made car! I found one at Jeff Schmitt Mazda within the budget and was extremely happy when the car dropped in price and went on sale even before I got there. Honestly, as a single mom I only felt comfortable dealing with a female who could understand my needs for the safety, security, and price range I found suitable in a vehicle for my daugter. Catherine McMillian, sales consultant, walked me every step of the way and I am very satisfied with her knowledge and expertise of the vehicles and her understanding and professionalism. Although, the MINI Cooper encountered a flat on the drive home. That same night I was assured the tires were brandnew (just as advertised and clearly marked on them) and that they would get it towed back at their expense to their service center and get it fixed ASAP. Freak accidents do happen, but there was also an unfortunate series of events to make me wonder if I was making the right choice in buying this car. To make a long story short, I decided to go with another car that was gorgeous, American made, gave me and my daughter piece of mind, was affordable on parts, gasoline, and reliable. I chose the 2010 Mazda 3 Sedan and have no regrets thus far. Yes, I paid a little more than what I budgeted for, but I know this car is suitable for my daughters and families needs. I am confident when we throw her a surprise 16th birthday party this weekend that she'll be thrilled to drive this beauty!!! I didn't want to rate this review 5-stars until I've had the vehicle to drive for more than a week, but based on what I've experienced this far I feel strong in saying that JSM is like a big happy family that will always make you feel welcome.Thanks for offering balloons and dinner! Had 2 Mazdas in there for service. The first one was for an oil change. Four days after that 2 lug nuts missing and 3rd finger tight. They said they checked the brakes but did not pull any wheels. Second Mazda in for accelerator sticking. They claimed they could not find anything wrong, the car was checked out completely and only needed brake pads and rotors. It has 58K miles on it. Took it to another mechanic and he said the brakes were fine. Now that same car is there for a repair to the remote start system. They want 700 to replace it, that the module is bad since it can't be programmed right. Svc mgr told my daughter it was ready to go. He then called me and said they had to reassemble the steering column. Should be ready tomorrow. I can't imagine what they can mess up on the car now. Svc mgr claims they have a whole new crew in there so that should be an improvement. Well, I wonder, just who hired the old crew? The same people that just hired the new crew? WARNING!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE. THEY WON'T FIX WHAT IS WRONG, BUT WILL TRY TO GET YOU TO AGREE TO LET THEM FIX WHAT THEY CAN DECIDE THEY CAN GET BY WITH. WARNING. WARNING. WARNING. read more
