I have been buying my appliances from this store for as long as I can remember. Their customer service and great prices is what keeps bringing me back. Even if I have picked out an appliance from Lowes or Home Depot, Jeffers Mcgill's prices have always been better. They also are a lot easier to deal with. The store just moved locations and they are in the process of creating a lot of different showrooms of kitchens. They also carry a large selection of other items including mattresses, furniture, grills, etc. If you're in the process of needing a new appliance, I definitely recommend you try this place first. My dishwasher doesn't dry my dishes even after doing everything they have told me to do. I'm getting no help (or communication) from LG and Jeffers McGill does nothing but tell me to call LG. We the people should ensure this business is closed permanently. If I could give them zero stars I would. A few weeks ago I discovered my dishwasher leaking. I uninstalled it and discovered the issue was not repairable. Knowing that we are in a pandemic and a lot of appliances and other goods are hard to come By I was concerned about being able to find a good replacement. I specifically wanted a Bosch stainless Well due to the advertising this company does it was the first name that popped in my head. Here is where it all went south. I'm sitting on the floor staring at my damaged hardwoods and water damaged cabinets trying to determine how in the world I will pull this all back together. I decide to call the store to see if they had a stainless Bosch 800 quiet model like I'm looking for. Someone answered the phone, a man, who should not be allowed to work in a sales or customer facing role. I asked him if he had x y a on what I was looking for. He basically was quite short and said we have 2 Bosch models. Both stainless. One has a handle one doesn't. (Pocket). I asked if he knew if it had third rack and how quiet. He essentially cut me off and stated that if I needed more information I would need to come to the store. I expressed that I was literally sitting on my floor with ruined cabinetry messed up hardwoods and a broken faulty dishwasher trying to determine what's available and asked for his help and support He essentially cut me off. Stated if I needed more info I'd have to come in (28 miles away) and then just hung up on me. I was furious. My temper went sky high. How can someone be such an ass hat and work in sales? I'll never purchase an appliance from these people and illl tell everyone and their brother the experience I had. I ended up finding another local appliance store that I had previously not known existed. They're ere dry ver accommodating answered my questions and were super helpful. Mot sure I can mention them here but google applince store in chapin SC. Starts with W. These guys are awesome. 2 hours later I was losing a new Bosch into my van that same day. I went to Jeffers McGill after my step sister spoke so highly of the customer service they received. We were building a new home and needed all new appliances. The owner in the beginning was extremely helpful and nice as to showing us around and explaining each appliance and making suggestions. We went with his advice. We purchased over 10,000 dollars in all with everything. I had problems day one with the washer or dryer . At the time all I knew was holes were appearing in all my clothes. I called multiple times and spoke to both owners. They listen but all they would do is send out Sloan Appliance . That was a nightmare. They came and looked and saw nothing. This went on over 5 months. The store just handed me over to take care of it myself. I was so disappointed that they never followed up or tried to switch out another set of appliances since these were new and were recommended by them . So today I'm still stuck with faulty appliances and no one from the company has ever called to see if they were fixed . Next time I will buy from Lowe's like I have in the past and never had an issues. read more

My wife and I spent 10s of thousands in appliances with Jeffers McGill renovating our house in 2018. I wanted a long-term relationship with a smaller local appliance store as we also have 5 rental properties. Even though JM has good prices, I was willing to pay more to get that relationship. I recently had to replace a range at one our rental properties and was disappointed to experience a complete lack of service demonstrated by one of the owners, John McGill. He did not follow through and did not return phone calls. After trying to express this frustration, I was brazenly told that he was busy and did not need to sell me rental house range. If the owner behaves in this way, you can bank on the fact that other employees will follow suite. If you are looking for that great local appliance store, I suggest you keep looking. read more

The prices are very competitive and the sales people know their products. That is a very different experience from purchasing anywhere else. As a result, I returned to purchase another item, but I guess my business was not welcome this time because I entered the store and was completely ignored. It was apparent that they were very busy, so I didn't mind waiting for my turn, but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged if only by a raised finger. I had written a very positive review of this business back in the summer when I first purchased a new Whirlpool clothes washer after mine died. I had a great experience then and purchased directly from the owner. Well, six months later this new Whirlpool died completely. I called the store and they said that Whirlpool uses Sloan Appliance to complete their warranty work. I was fine with that, but Sloan notified me that it would be 3 weeks before they could come out. I tried calling Jeffers McGill back, but no one would answer the phone in the middle of the week during business hours. So, I drove to the store a half hour away and found a bunch of sales guys just sitting around and laughing and talking. I discovered that the receptionist goes home after 2pm and the sales staff has to answer the phones, which apparently none of them like to do. I ran into the owner and explained my dilemma. I told him that Sloan could not come out for 3 weeks and I had a large family that could not wait that long for clean laundry, which I do on a daily basis. He said the best he could do was sell me a new washer at a small discount. He gave me some quotes and I left the store telling him I would be in touch. I get home and my phone rings. It is a salesman from the store that I just left. I had left a message on their answering machine and he was just now calling me back. I explained to him my problem and that I had just left the store with some information to sleep on and discuss with my wife. A moment later I hear this poor salesman getting screamed at by the owner for talking to me on the phone. The salesman goes from nice to defensive and hostile with me saying his hands are tied and that they had already done all they could to help me. I felt as if no one knew what they were doing and I felt as if they were accusing me of trying to get something for nothing. This one negative experience should never have happened and I would be crazy to ever go back and purchase anything from this business ever again. We have been buying all our appliances here for years and until recently have had a very good experience. We have had several nagging problems with several 5year old appliances we purchased from them after remodeling a kitchen and when I called to ask advice I felt like I was put off and the salesman we have used for years basically gave me a number to GE, which I told him I already had, told me to call them and then abruptly hung up on me. I know a lot of people love these guys. let me first start out by saying we dont have a lot of choices in Columbia or did not years ago. I have purchased 3 refrigerators , 3 washers, 2 dryers, and dishwasher ( All Higher end stuff GE profile, Jenn air ,etc and a hood from them over the last 12 years. Some of the guys that work there like David M and Ryan are nice but once the units out of warranty there is not much help they can provide. I just called them to ask about a model.The salesman when I told him a price that another dealer verbally quoted me on a unit starting threatening to call the manufacturer and report them blah blah . He did not even give me time to talk to him about the unit and when i explained I was buying three different appliances he could not become unfocused on report the other dealer? Weird , basically these guys were the only show in town and now that Gateway, Ferguson, The Nest , and others are on there heels I guess they don't know how to act. Everything I have bought from them has died prematurely . Now I know they are not the manufacturer but it seems odd that they just don't seem to care when your stuff breaks a few months out of warranty. The solution sell you another machine. We had amazing service at Jeffers McGill. I was hesitant to go here initially, thinking they'd be overpriced or out of our budget. However, they most definitely were not. We had a terrible experience buying a set of kitchen appliances from another retailer who went out of business before they could actually deliver the stuff we paid for. When I mentioned this ordeal to a friend, she recommended we try Jeffers McGill. At that point, we had nothing to lose and it was the 2nd or 3rd time someone recommended them. It was an incredibly great experience and we received outstanding customer service from Ryan. He was very patient and the most knowledgeable person I've ever met on kitchen appliances. He worked within our budget and gave his personal recommendations on pieces based on our needs. I cook and bake A LOT and he understood how important the range was for me and how we could potentially get a better range by getting a slightly cheaper (but still highly recommended) refrigerator. Additionally, my husband was in a bit of a mood that day and Ryan did not take his attitude personally like I would have! We ended up getting a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave and trim kit for well under what the out-of-business national retailer charged. Win! We have been buying both furniture and appliances from Jeffers McGill for at least 16 years. So easy to deal with! The owners work there and you deal with them direct; not like some big national chain furniture and appliance store. They have great prices and after searching on line for anything in the area of furniture or appliances, I always find they can be very competitive or lower. Best of all is the service. Their service does not end when you pay for your purchase like some place (IE.. Lowes. Home depot and Haverty,s etc). They offer free delivery, removal of old items and follow up. If you run into a problem down the road, all it takes is a call. They have craftsmen who they will have do the factory warranty work and handle the complete process, if ever needed, without any effort on your part past notifying them of a problem. We have followed them from the original location to the now third location, the former Griffin Pool building on Atlas road between Bluff Road and Garners Ferry Road. Well worth checking out for any type home furnishing or appliance purchase. read more
