The only thing to keep in mind is that if you need an ultrasound, they are on call during the night and have two hours to get to the hospital.

When my primary care physician of 15 years announced his retirement at the end of 2019, and…read morenotified his patients to find a new doctor in the next 60 days, I was concerned that it would be difficult to connect with a different doctor as well as I did with him. Change like this is seldom easy. But, I was lucky. PennMed had opened a family medicine facility in nearby Lower Makefield and had brought in several younger staff physicians who were establishing new practices and looking for patients. Already familiar with their excellent work in Philadelphia from personal experience, I contacted the local office via their My PennMed website and got an appointment for the following week. I met Dr. Li and was immediately won over my his direct, yet good natured approach. He asked plenty of questions and listened to my answers. He obtained my records from my former provider and quickly understood my medical history and unusual aspects of my health. He simplified my prescriptions, updated them, and asked me to return in 3 months with new lab work to be sure we were on the right track. Dr. Li gained my confidence almost immediately. Turned out that this operation included inhouse lab work in the first floor, so I no longer had to make visits to Quest Diagnostics to give blood and urine samples. The data was provided directly to me and the doctor through their website within 48 hours, and he was contacting me by phone to schedule an appointment to review the findings. Quick and easy. A little more fine tuning on meds and preventive health, and we were set for the rest of the year. Have to say that while I was comfortable with my now retired doctor, that I really didn't know what I was missing by not being part of a state of the art medical practice. My former family doctor was very good. Dr. Li and PennMed are even better.

This was at their other location in yardley, capital health obgyn. I had a pleasant experience…read morethere with every other staff member there, except for the one older female doctor, doctor Janet Budzynski. She isn't my normal gynecologist but since my normal gynecologist was out on a family leave, I had decided to go with her since she was a female doctor. She came in the room and asked why I was here today, normal question, no issues but once I told her I wanted to stop my birth control was where the issues came in. I felt like she was being passive aggressive towards me and my decision to stop birth control. I told her my issues with it and why I stopped the patches, which was my choice of BC and then proceeded to ask why I was even here at the appointment if I stopped the bc, which was rude and was not my choice to come here without a reason. I was told before this appt that I had to schedule a follow up on how I was doing with my birth control and I did which is why I showed up today for the follow up. I also felt ridiculed because I told her that me and my boyfriend don't have sex all that often and proceeded to tell me that "it doesn't matter" and "no matter how many times you have sex you still have the risk of getting pregnant" as if I didn't already know that. I also told her that I was billed for my appt from last time which was $200 and my insurance only goes through quest and not labcorp, and told me that it wasn't her fault that we got billed that high. Would not recommend this doctor if you're deciding to stop birth control like I will be.

For reasons unknown, MBO NEVER answers their phone. A recording claims "Your call is very…read moreimportant to us . . ." but that's clearly a lie. If you know the person you need to talk to, you can, with difficulty, reach their phone, and of course they won't answer either. So leave a voicemail, and I wish you the very best of luck. Generally, I don't get any response until I leave the third or fourth (increasingly irritated) voicemail. Example 1: I was in more pain than I had expected, and I called my doctor for some oxycodone, which he had offered previously. I had expected a call-back. Didn't happen. I had expected my pharmacy to fill the prescription within a day. Didn't happen, because THEY NEVER GOT THE ORDER! It took SIX DAYS and FOUR VOICEMAILS before the order was filled. Full disclosure: there was a weekend and a holiday intervening, but if MBO had reacted on the day I called, that wouldn't have been a factor. Example 2: I called to schedule surgery, asking for a particular week. (Per usual, no one answered the phone, and I had to leave a voicemail.) As it turned out, scheduling for that week wasn't available yet; it was too far in the future. Did I get a call-back, explaining the situation? Nope. All I got was ignored. So, not realizing the problem, I called again, and had to leave another voicemail. [wait . . . wait . . . wait . . . ] No call-back; I had been ignored again. Once more I called, and, uh . . . expressed my frustration. This time, I got a return call, and I had the common courtesy to answer my phone. [MBO, take note: actually answering a phone call is considered a GOOD thing.] The conversation did not go smoothly. If I had only gotten a return call after my very first voicemail, explaining that I was calling too early, all the ensuing mess would not have occurred. On the other hand, the actual medical care has been fine. The problem is entirely with the support staff, who seem to view patients as an intrusion into their very busy workday, to be ignored if possible, and barely tolerated otherwise.
